2:22 "Ton of feedback though, you can feel every pebble on the road." That's just Miata steering for you. Even with power steering, the feedback is insane. The car really communicates with you. It's part of what makes it so goddamn fun to drive.
Totally Legit Gaming [TLEG] it's because of the hydraulic steering rack! Even my NC has it. That, coupled with my stage one suspension (Tokico HTS shocks and flyin miata springs) makes the car feel like it's on rails. I'm putting on a cosworth supercharger some time in the next year 👌🏼
There is still a big difference in feel between the two racks. I’ve had 3 94R package cars with the manual rack and an 95M edition with the power.
The power rack makes the car feel more nimble but jumpier, I can take the turns but I have less confidence in the actual amount of grip. More faith based compared to the manual rack. You know what you’ve got at all times. It’s much harder to auto-x the manual rack as the ratio is different.
OMG they aren't perfectly comparable.
They don't have the same tires.
They don't have the same oil.
They don't have the same floormats.
They're not running the same shift knob.

Can't forget that the green car is running synthetic blinker fluid while the black car isn't. At least half second there.

I’d gladly trade away 15 hp for the smooth, linear power delivery of a roots blower. Dealing with nonlinear turbo spool in a SWB car like a Miata would get frustrating.
Thats because people still buy shitty turbos. Got myself a Borg Warner EFR 6758 on a build 2 Litre VVT MK 2.5. 370 HP on the engine and its running linear as fuck.

4. From personal experience, biggest difference is Reliability. At the track, you will spend more time in the garage wrenching your turbo while listening to the superchargers whine on the track!
I completely disagree. A properly designed turbo kit wont need any maintenance. Mine has been issue free for over 2 years. They are very simple and not alot of failure points

I think this is a good illustration of the difference of mentalities between setups. The NA probably has faster times in it but I think I would still want to drive the NB. For me it's all about the feel and the ease.

Supercharger whine is an acquired taste, and some sound better than others. This was particularly whiny. And as stated, the exhaust note was awful.

Superchargers only sound good where they belong. On a V8
I'm not normally in favor of the sound of superchargers (although I like how they perform), but this supercharger sounds kick-ass!

Suggestion : you guys should do a video comparing lap times of light weight wheels vs heavy . or square tire setup vs staggered ! just a suggestion .

Even a stock Miata is fun as hell to drive. A friend let me borrow one for about a month. It was unfortunately automatic but still fun to drive. They handle well and even with a small power plant they are fairly quick. I think the price of the newer ones is getting a little out of control however.

They already did a K swap Civic vs modern Type R Civic. They also did an Integra Type R vs modern Type R and a turbo Civic vs Modern Type R.
TL;DW: Modern Type R is faster, but all other Hondas have VTEC, higher rev limiter, and more fun to drive. The K swap Civic gets nearly as good performance on the track as the 10th gen Civic Type R.

Lightweight track car I go supercharger, ultimately they are usually slower but more enjoyable to me. They can be built so differently that I would have both if I could.

The NA was probably a depowered steering rack which is a powersteering rack with all the power components removed. Definitely an acquired taste, but once you get used to it you can sling it around like a powersteering car.

No power steering is great once you're used to it, bump steers a lot more than with power steering(at least in my car), but I feel like it's made me a better driver
You really need to be smoother on your inputs. You can probably unleash an extra 3-5% more grip if your smoother!
