    Canada need gun rights laws. It is ridiculous how Canada has become so opposed to gun ownership and use for law abiding citizens. The laws in Canada are far too draconian and oppressive. We need laws that allow law abiding citizens to own, carry, and use firearms in a lawful way. We need self defence laws as well. We need harsh laws for criminals and not for law abiding citizens.

    Everyone always asks, but what can I do? Thank you for making this video! There are a lot of fellow Canadians that don’t own firearms and that’s okay. Being a Canadian firearm owner I see and understand the deception and misinformation. There are at lot of Canadians who are uneducated on this topic and easily misinformed and manipulated. Thank you again and keep up the good work!

    I would like to add that there is a internationally recognized legal definition for the term “Assault Rifle”, but do to its narrow definition the AR-15 never qualified as one and all firearms that do meet the narrow definition have been prohibited in Canada since 1970s. Also prohibited in the US since the 80s. Unless grandfathered in, or the person works in either law enforcement or the armed forces.
    It is also worth adding the May 1, 2020 OIC was very illegal. It violates Section 117.15 (2) of the Criminal Code of Canada, violates the Bill of Rights (1689), the Canadian Bill of Rights (1960) and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Section 7, 8, 9, 15, & possibly even Section 2 (in some cases).

    Listing those weapons(rocket launchers etc) makes perfect sense if you think about it. Those weapons are used only by the military. Lumping AR's in with them puts them under the umbrella of "military" thus not authorized for public consumption. I firmly this was done on purpose as a way around existing laws and will lead to enactment of new more restrictive laws.

    Yeah, that "Thanksgiving Dinner" goose or turkey is going to evaporate if you hunt for one with, say, a Karl Gustav shoulder-fired weapon with rounds designed to punch holes in vehicle armour, etc. Assuming you catch that goose "on the wing" when it's hit, finding a fragment larger than fingernail clippings will be a challenge. Which is why, if you're Jed Clampett and go "shootin' for some food," that's a type not considered as being a useful firearm. Like the WWII 25-pounder Gun/Howitzer, or the "Puckle Gun" invented in the 1700's - more "named" examples. Like the Serbu "Butt-Master" - readily identifiable, since only one was ever made, and it got a one- or two-sentence mention in some 1990's gun periodical. All silly examples among the "specified" or named items added to the OIC list by a copy-and-paste brain trust. No cure for stupid.

    • @TATVCanada
      @TATVCanada  Год назад

      Yeah the 'publicity' of gun ownership is a really interesting topic. I'm not sure where you live, but in Ontario where I'm from, it's almost a social faux-pas to openly discuss it. If you were to talk about recreational shooting the way you do other hobbies like golf, or baseball, you will get some really uncomfortable looks from about 3/4 of the people, and then the other 1/4 it's almost like you get this sort of "cautious nod"; those are the other gun owners. The liberals have created this sort of stereotype that gun ownership in Canada is very fringe, that almost no one has firearms, but the reality is depending on what province you're in it's probably around 20ish percent or higher. Even as a very open gun owner there are people I've known at work or other places for years who I didn't realize were gun owners because it's just so discouraged for us to talk about it.

      So if our prime minister can use a fully automatic assault rifle from a helicopter to hunt deer with a 30 round magazine and a suppressor and our police can use fully automatic weapons with 30 round magazines, why is it illegal for us to have one? I'm not going to break the law. I'm not going to go and shoot somebody with a gun. If I have an issue with a person the very most I might get into a physical fight with them with my hands but that would probably be about it. Or if somebody broke into my house, there's a good chance that I might act a little differently, but I didn't break the law first. I just defended myself from someone breaking the law is what I'm trying to say. I'm not saying Dad. It's not an assault rifle. I'm saying that if the gun's not being used in assaults against people, why do you call it that? And you can't use war as an example because war is war. I've heard of people throwing grenades directly at somebody's feet. You don't call them assault grenades. You just called them grenades. You don't call a handgun an assault handgun you call it a handgun we have a bunch of people that don't understand a damn thing in this country and it's whack and they expect us to follow the rules when they can't even do the same thing themselves

    while I've never seen that definition of democracy. That is clearly not what it means in Canada. What does in fact apply in their eyes, is that a democracy is "by the consent of the governed". This has taken some time to understand, but it means if you are holding the birth certificate and have not redeemed it with the Minister of Finance Canada, you consent to be governed. The birth certificate is not what most believe it to be.

    playing devils advocate the ar-15 and variants are in the same family as the m4 and m16, the only major difference being the trigger group. they all have reliability, ergonomics and force multipliers in mind. that being said civilian gun ownership for self defence should be a right and something we shouldn't tip toe around.

    • @nutritionperfection

      Same family, but full auto is a pretty large and defining difference.

    • @speedplays6710
      @speedplays6710 7 месяцев назад

      @@nutritionperfection not really, with a light trigger you can shoot really quick and also with a few simple modifications you can make any semi auto bump fire. I find it funny that rifles are such a hot topic when nobody bats an eye that governments have tanks and missiles.

    • @nutritionperfection
      @nutritionperfection 7 месяцев назад

      @@speedplays6710 If you have to say "with a few modifications" and you still only get to bump fire not full auto it is a big difference classification wise. The AR-15 can't even be converted by using an M16 BCG, the lower receiver components are different and the wall thickness is different. You're looking at trigger group, including auto sear, and the bolt carrier. If you don't consider that different, then I'm not sure what to say. Bump fire is not full auto, nor would full auto or bump be important with the 5 round capacity law. Heck, bump stocks are illegal as is. The mere difference between semi/burst and full auto at time of sale makes guns different enough to be classified differently, if we get into mods and receiver changes, let along illegal mods, we aren't talking the same thing anymore. My son is armoured division so it's funny you mention that.
