The water-to-grain ratio for pre-dampening is 1 tsp water per cup of grain. More than one teaspoon is NOT better! Place in ziplock bag, shake to distribute, allow to sit for couple hours (or overnight), and flake as usual. I don’t do this for oat groats. We have the MockMill Flake Lover. We love it!
