    Few years ago, I have bought a Kenwood pasta attachment which I haven't used it yet. I will use it for wheat grains before milling on my small size natural granite stone by hand for weekly bread flour. I should buy the medium size stone grain mill which is for hard grains.

      I know, I did the same thing. Good roller machines are very expensive. I tried a few ideas before I figured out this method. I'm so happy with the result!

    I always sprout my own oat groats, then cook them and eat them whole, but sometimes I need rolled oats for recipes. This is so ingenious! Thank you so much for showing me how!

    Yay! Thank you So much for this video! I have been trying to learn how to roll my own oats for over a week! I attempted to add some to berry cobbler before seeing your video & it came out terrible -- like bird seed. 😅 My family won't eat it. The texture makes me want to gag. 😆 But my beautiful son bought be the same exact pasta maker that you have for my birthday last year & I am SOOO excited that I can use it to roll oats. Thank God! No more bird seed cake. Hehe!

    Lovely informative video! Oat rolling or flaking machines are so expensive and often unavailable. I have a question, does this harm the pasta maker, and is it difficult to clean the oats from the pasta maker afterwards? Thank you!

      Thank you, I used the smallest setting (between 8 & 9), and yes you can definitely make thicker ones too.

    Very good video, thank you so much. I followed your instruction and rolled the oats. But after i rolled them they stick to each other and I couldn't separate them and dry them like you did. Did I miss something?

    Rolled oats are rolled with steam! They come pre cooked! Still incredibly creative and wonderful video! Have already suscribed.

      I have done steaming the oats as well, and it turned out very good. However, I try to cut down any extra steps to keep it more simple to do when I'm too busy and this works really well. Thank you for the compliment on the camembert!

    Is there a way to make quick oats with the rolled oats? I've been wanting to try... maybe they need to be put in the food processor for a few quick pulses?

    Is this roller primarily for pasta and you are using it to roll oat groats or is it a specific attachment to roll oats.

      You are very welcome, and thank you for the kind words. This pasta roller I used is very basic, and I did not do anything to adapt it for this except set it on the narrowest setting.     I was excited to see this as want to use the oats from our farm. I was saddened to hear that the actual process is monopolised by one company. I then realised you were using naked oats. Remember everyone that raw oats still in their hulls will get mixed up with the flakes. It's this separating process that is apparently so hard with oats taking an extra 5 machines in the process after the dehuller. Gutted as i wanted to supply to my local community and shop

      Yes it does, absolutely. I have been dong sprouted barley flakes using the same method, but I have not tried spelt yet. I'll be curious to hear how it goes!

      You are very welcome, and I'm glad you appreciate the technique! I have not experimented with keeping them for more than a week yet, and they have not had any problem going rancid during that period of time.

      I’m sure if dehydrated they wouldent go bad. Of course storage would need to be dry as well lol no moisture, any moister can cause bacteria to grow and spoil the oats

    Even though i belong to farmers family we have our own wheat rice n veg grown in our fields..last 5 days i was curious to know how are oats made n doing all RND n here i got it but still theres lot to share...is this wheat?..coz barley which is 'JAU' name in hindi n oats is 'JAEE' from which it orignates...but this us wheat...pls tell me....my sister is dietician n we consume readymade oats on daily basis...pls tell

    What is the difference between soaked rolled oats and dried rolled oats. Which one is better??

      From what I learned soaking helps reducing phytic-acid and making it easier to digest.

    I wanted to use these oats for energy balls. In the recipe you don't need to bake them. Do I just use these rolled oats raw or would I have to bake them separately and then use it in the recipe
