these three different workouts are insane! El Guerrouj incredible speed, Rupp's crazy endurance after his two mile American record, and Zatopek with the longest workout I've ever seen

My worst workout was 100m*4 200m*4 300m*4 400m*4 500m*4 800m*4 with 100m jog recovery. It was hell, especially after getting carried away at the start and doing the first few 100m in 12 high.
I have heard of el gerrouj doing 10x300 in 35-37 s with a running start and pacer. I don’t remember the rest but I think it was 3-4 minutes. I still believe this may have been a miscommunication so take that with a grain of salt
It’s like in the book once a runner when the main character did 3 x 4 x 5 x 400 with 200 jog in between each 400 and 400 jog in between each set of 5. The catch was that he thought he was only doing 4 x 5 x 400, and his coach made him repeat it 2 more times.

not good for 13 year olds at this age you need to have much lighter sessions to adapt. Developing humans require less stimulus for adaptation. It's not like you're in your final collegiate career years.
Hey Trackstaa and Trackstaa viewers- I am a 15 year old male that recently ran a 16:59 5k XC, and I want to start implementing threshold training. Based on that time, does anyone have an estimate as to what my threshold pace is ? Edit- btw this is 5:28/ mile pace, and the course was pretty fast
Eduardus Nabunome runs 40 km every day and runs approximately 100 km every 2 weeks, he was one of the best runners in Indonesia at that time and a legend at this time .
This isn’t a running workout but some of Katie Ledecky’s workouts are insane, going close to breaking world records in training. It’s especially ridiculous knowing that the world records were done with drag reducing tech suits vs a normal jammer in those workouts. Also, I’ve never heard of the last workout. It’s insane how Zatopek could will himself to do that stuff
As someone new to running, to me some of these elite runners don't look healthy, very skinny and even their face look weathered. I don't know if they are or not, just seems like the body isn't enjoying such stress on the outside at least.
So I’m for sure one of the skinny runners and I’m 100% healthy. However there’s for sure a fine line with weight where you can push the limits and there’s severe consequences.
I did a lot of workouts that were too hard for my level, followed by poor race performances - there's really nothing good that comes from that IMO :D. I would be more curious about runners who end up racing much faster than their workout paces.
Why do people get so excited about … practice. What matters is performance on race day. Training warriors just means they lack self control to reign in their efforts until race day because they are insecure about their abilities This is why Kipchoge is the GOAT. It’s all about fundamentals, repetition, and staying injury free for years on end . Not “crazy workouts”
