I've been drawing knots on paper for years now and I can appreciate how much time and concentration went into getting the design onto the box. I'm just getting into pyrography now
Nice work i do wood burning also but i do native art on boxes and what ever else i can wood burn lol i buy boxes from the stores and go home and do my work and your right it takes along time to wood burn 7:07
Beautiful box! Great at explaining, easy to follow video. I was glad you slowed it down in a few spots to see. :) I just got my 116 piece burning kit today and just figured out how to assemble it, I was just looking for what projects I can soon do with it. I subscribed, so looking forward to seeing more soon to do projects. Thanks!
Thank you! I’m glad you found the video easy to follow 😊 116 pieces! That’s so many! Mine only came with 4 pens and two cords. Best of luck with your projects! :)
Loved this idea. The boxes are super cheap at the hobby store so I wasn't worried about messing it up. I made this for my wife and she absolutely loved it. Nice touch with the felt inside. I'm new to pyrography and have almost no drawing capability but you made this easy to follow and it turned out great. Thank you so much.
Beautiful!💖💛 The contrast looks so good. I've never done the hatch crossing on a Celtic knot, but I'm sure going to try it next time. I really like what it adds to it
I brought a small wooden chest from the works, tryed burning into it it was ok but what would you recomend to use as it was like craft wood or something
Basswood is the easiest to burn in my opinion. With boxes it’s hard to find ones made of a specific type of wood unless you want to make them yourself. I think the box I did in this video was some sort of craft wood as well.
Thanks! There’s lots of Celtic Knots online if you look them up, that’s what I’ve done that in the past. I used a book on Celtic knots to draw this one, I think I talked about it in the video.
I have watched a handful of your videos and I love your work. Most of all the Celtic knotwork I'm part Irish and Scottish, and would like to start doing this also. My question is with all of the different tips out there are there 4-5 I could use just to get started???...and would you mind telling me which tips those would be? Thx again Sláne
Thank you! I’m glad you like my videos. Sorry, but did you want tips for getting started with Celtic knot work? Or with burning? Or did you want to know which burner tips (like which pens) to buy? 😂
Great video. I am just about to woodburn a drawing of the Silver Surfer onto a bodyboard I have made. Can I sand it down slightly after I have burnt the picture on or will it smear??? thanks
Thanks! :) Sounds like a cool project. I would sand the board as smooth as possible before you burn it, if you sand it after I don’t think it would smear but you would lose detail. I only sand my burnings if I’ve made a mistake and I want to get rid of it. Good luck with your project!
My burner is a Razertip SS D10. They sell them on the Razertip website. It’s a Canadian company so I don’t know what countries they ship to, but when I bought mine it was about $300 CAD and came with the cords and a few pens.
I have a video with a monarch butterfly, but I have been thinking of doing another one :) I have some leather wallets that need a design, so I’ll keep that in mind. thanks for your comment :)
I am just a beginner, but another video said graphite was easier to erase than carbon. When they did a demo of both graphite sure looked easier. Some people scribble on the back with a pencil to coat the back of the sheet. Then turn it over nd trace the image. Pencils are graphite.
Yes, I use pencil because I think it’s easier to erase than carbon (though I haven’t tried carbon paper) that’s what happens when you use tracing paper, you draw the image backwards on the tracing paper then turn it over and scribble on it to transfer it to the wood (or whatever surface). I think covering a whole sheet in pencil by scribbling on it would take much longer than just tracing on both sides. It would also be very messy, my hands are usually black after that much scribbling and I have to wash them before I can burn.
Thanks! :) The walnut hollow versa tool is popular, so are Colwood and Razertip burners (mines a Razertip) the main thing is to pick something with a heat dial and not get tricked by a cheap Amazon knock off that will melt lol Good luck!
What kind of tracing paper did u use? I got some tracing paper, but ,when I put it on the wood and I go over it with the pencil, nothing transfers to the wood. (New to pyrography) Thanks
Did you draw on both sides of the paper? There has to be graphite in contact with the wood for anything to transfer. You could also try graphite paper, then you only have to trace it once
I usually burn on basswood. In terms of price, I generally go by the size complexity of the art and the time it takes to make, but it’s hard to set a rule. I gave this one to my uncle as a Christmas present though, so I didn’t get a chance to try to sell it lol
Thank you! I use a brush on water based wood finish and it doesn’t smear the burning. It will smear added colours though, especially watercolours and pencil crayons. For burnings with colour I use an aerosol version of the same finish and it works out well :)
I received a hobby burner as a gift so am just now digging into burning ideas. Happy to have discovered your channel!
Awesome! There’s a great Pyrography group on Facebook if you need any more inspiration :)
Skilled people always make things look easy. Very impressive. Beautiful results.
Thank you :)
way cool ... it's great to this type of art/hobby come back to life ! ❤

Thank you :) lots of people who wood burn trace, so you can always start there
@@WildwoodStudio thank you for replying, you are too kind. Yes my initial idea was to use vinyl cut outs.. using my silhouette machine.
Thanks... 😊 Mi piacciono le greche le farò anche io ! ;)
Good idea :)
Love it!
Fantastic
This is incredible!
Thanks for sharing.
Well done 👏
Thank you! 😊

I have the same heritage and am also looking for this type of project! Really love the knot and her technique in burning it.

Hello, love this video! I was just looking to get into Pyrography, do you have any suggestions for the heat pens to use?

I just started doing woodburning as a hobby to unstress from work and want to get more in to it. I was wondering what burning kit do you use ?
I use a Razertip SS-D10
Lindo trabajo
Thanks :)
Impressive!
Thanks! 😊
And what kinda wood to get for lets say wood burning realistic portraits?
I usually burn on basswood. In terms of price, I generally go by the size complexity of the art and the time it takes to make, but it’s hard to set a rule. I gave this one to my uncle as a Christmas present though, so I didn’t get a chance to try to sell it lol
out of curiosity, howmuch would you charge for box like this?
Beautiful! Can you use a water based polyurethane on this after burning? I'm not sure if it will smear some of the burned-charcoal.
Thank you! I use a brush on water based wood finish and it doesn’t smear the burning. It will smear added colours though, especially watercolours and pencil crayons. For burnings with colour I use an aerosol version of the same finish and it works out well :)
I couldn't hear what kind of tip you are using for the dark background?
It’s the spoon shader. My machine is a Razertip dual burning system
Bravo
Thanks! 😊
Great job.!!!!!!Come visit.I'm burning out too
What burning kit are you using?
I use a Razertip dual burning system
Your videos are really useful. Unfortunately my pyrography pen has broken. Where did you get yours from?
Thanks! I ordered it online from Razertip it’s their dual burning system.
TOP !!!
Thanks!
What was the name of that book?
