  • Are you one of thousands of golfers trying to fix your slice with driver? At 2nd Swing, we've found that in many cases, the best way to fix your slice with driver could be a simple adjustment to the loft and lie settings.
In this video, 2nd Swing master fitter Jackie Johnson and content specialist Drew Mahowald test a few different methods of creating draw bias to help you fix your slice with driver without changing your swing. Is it worth it to get a draw bias clubhead? Or can you create more draw bias with the adjustable hosel settings?

Very interesting, a little more loft at 90mph swing speed is not a bad idea . Great job Jackie and Drew .

Thanks for watching! I agree more loft is your friend for golfers that don't have as much club speed. It is easier to turn the ball over right to left with more loft - Thomas

i bought a 9 degree head and bumped it up to 11 degrees. I find more fairways and I actually hit the ball further being able to keep the ball in the air longer. I have a 95-100 mph swing speed here.

Great video. I also hit the Sim Max even though I have a TSR 2 and a Cobra Jet I still get more distance from the Sim Max. I have the exact same outcomes as Jackie with the Sim Max. Tried higher loft settings got straight pulls. I have a natural fade also so I’ve found the standard setting is best. IMO the Sim Max is the best driver head Taylor Made has produced to date.

Excellent video . I need help thinking of a 9* head in draw head lofting up 1 or 2 *

So if I adjusted loft higher combined with a fade adjustment, that would be closer to square strike, correct? Good video.

Should try this test with someone who only slices the ball, and try it with the Ping G425 series drivers as they are supposed to be the best at draw biased drivers.

Lighter shaft can help get the club head through as well as counterbalanced shaft. The club head gets through and closes the face. Weighting should be centered in the back of the driver head for best moi. I’m not a fan of weighting the heel to help close the face with shaft/wrist rotation. It reduces the stability of the club face. With the driver, club face stability is the key to consistency. Any degree off can be the difference between fairway and behind a tree. You don’t want a club face that closes fast. You’ll slice one shot and duck hook the next. Having a shallow swing is important to create a stable club face that closes with the club path. It also helps produce an ascending hit on the ball. That allows you to use a lower lofted driver and put more energy into the ball. In conclusion, buy a normal driver and get good.

I have a question for you no one else can answer ... taylormade loft sleeve... if you use a left handed sleeve on a right golfer does it work opposite? Meaning opening the club face would increase loft and closing the face would decrease loft. Normally, opening decrease loft and closing adds loft - with a right handed loft sleeve for a right handed golfer

i find that adjusting my driver for draw bias without moving my target line right gives me the the exact same results. So, i just move my target line to the right when i make the draw adjustment. Bingo.

I bought draw biased equipment for years. All it did was bandaid my shitty swing. Once I fixed my swing I would get monster hooks with the draw biased equipment, dropped another $1200 on new clubs. Lesson learned, fix your swing instead of buying gimmicky equipment

You should’ve used a tester who consistently sucks (like me) instead of someone who hits it consistently like the young gal here. If you can fix my all over the place hits and get it to go one direction then you know your test was successful and doing these adjustments work.

Not sure, what imo would be a best test an iron Byron? The only change would be adjustment as the swing would be precise?

If you consistently suck then maybe work on your swing with a $20 driver instead of wasting money on good technology

Which means, most ot these drivers and settings are a placebo. How you feel and slight tuning. Hitting 5 shots with each means nothing. It's the skill of the player. ("Professional" for money is a different story.) [Most humans lose money playing golf.] I like the feel of my drivers and the pretty color coordination

The intentions of this video were good but the actual execution was flawed. If you're going to adjust the hozzle to raise the lie angle, it will naturally close the face by approx 2 degrees or approx 4 degrees at the highest setting. Unless you're going to square the club face to the target at address, of course the shot is going to go to the left...you've just closed the club face. If you leave the club to setting on the ground at it's balance point, the face will be closed. She really needed to address the ball properly by aligning the face to the target and the shots would have been straighter.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  2 года назад +1

Thanks for watching. You bring up a great point adjusting the hosel opens or closes the clubface. Would be best to put some time into club path and alignment to get the ball straighter yet still have the change with a closed setting to draw the ball. - Thomas
