Wow. 35 Years of modeling, and it takes a RUclips video to show me the paint pouring trick with the stick. Now I’m embarrassed 😳. I just binge watch your videos, due to corona boredom. Nice, nice, nice 👍. You’re amongst the best!
What a brilliant job you have done on this beautiful kit! When I was a kid, we had no information on the kits we chose except the box art, now we have you bloggers, who show us how it is done, and scare the hell out of us! Thank you and all the others for giving of your time and experience! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧 Mind you, I could give you a run for your money where it comes to sculpting figures!😉😉😉☺
Absolutely incredible. I would never have even thought of the crosses showing through the fabric. You have an incredible knack of noticing things like that. This model looks amazing but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised as every model you make is a work of art!
It always blows me away how such a simple technique will produce amazing results. I would be racking my brain for months trying to figure this out and try to find all these fancy materials.
I loved seeing the thought process at 8:15. "This way...wait...yes thats correct......wait.......yes." Great work David. Lots of thought in to the details is what sets your models apart.
Thanks for sharing David! Although fabric imitation is not something completely new, it always nice to see technique "in action". About coping "crosses". I also prefer to paint those for many reasons (including shading like you did). I just make a copy of decal sheet on copy machine first and cut masks on the copied paper, not on decals directly. And before I apply mask on surface, I put cut cross on the wing. I use it as a guide to help myself apply mask accurately. Then remove cross... And I love the idea of imitating wing transparency and how you imitate this by painting cross and letters on the bottom side of the wing. And it would make it even more realistic to paint cross and letters with blurred, boarder. All the best to you from Riga.
Great video. You are so talented. Sharing your skills is a great help to people like myself trying to get back into model making and improving our skills. Thank you!
Perfect, I was going to ask you for a video on how you imitated the wing fabric. I noticed on your previous video that the crosses seemed to be visible 'through' the semi-transparent wings, although I was sure that it was one of your amazing tricks. Now I'll find out! Love your videos! :-)
Excellent video/tutorial, loved how you showed the markings showing through the fabric - nice touch (well, other than painting the 'N' backwards - lol)! Great looking model too.
Hi there, maybe an idea. Our aircraft painters in the hangar use mask as well. After taking out the parts where paint should go they cover up the whole mask with another layer of low tack adhesive foil. The whole lot is removed and placed on the aircraft skin, it makes it easier to place it correctly. Then the cover foil is removed and paint applied. This way the are even able tho place items that are not attached to the main mask. Cheers Andree
Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to make these videos and share your amazing skills and experience with your fellow modellers. I am inspired to start again a hobby I enjoyed a long time ago!
Thanks so much for posting your work, the level of skill and attention to detail is astounding. I've learned many useful techniques and I admire very much your eye for detail and balance.
Silly me I always thought the "plain jane" WWI planes without "colorful markings" were boring after watching this...I admit I was wrong and it opens up so many more possibilities. Thank You David Damek for sharing your techniques. Too bad youtube and the internet wasn't around 40-50 years ago I could have had a museum full of finished plastic models by now! I'm subscribed!
Very cool tutorial! One brave soul flying the plane at the beginning. I don't think I'd have the guts to go up in that thing! Lol would be very cool to shave the thickness of the wings to almost transparent.
Stunning. This says as much about your ability as it does about your observation skills. I am returning to modelling after a 30 year gap. The hardest part was accepting the "best of my ability" bit, but with inspiration like this...who knows? Thanks again.
This just great paining work and knowledge to learn, no matter your painting hobby. The plane turned out so nice I want to spread my Duck wings and fly with it.
Matching color by eye is not easy. I do it and try to write down what I did so I can do it again. You have some damn good buiilds. Keep it up. This video is just one good reason to subscribe.
If there is ever a "Modelers Hall of Fame" you get my vote, in a skinny minute. Absolutely beautiful job, your skills are Hall of Fame worthy. I know if probably depends, but generally speaking how long do you spend during a single session of building/painting? I really enjoy the WWI aircraft and the incredible courage these guys had. Early on no parachutes, only later did these pilot wear parachutes. Thanks Plasmo
Great video. I'm trying my hand at my first ever Bi-Plane, a Fokker D.VIII and I love getting info from you. Couple of thoughts, haw about a video on who you are? Also, When will you build a fire truck? There are some great fire truck kits out there!
Love your work. You are an inspiration to us lesser-skilled modellers out here. Thank you so much.
Nice work! I must get some of the plain Sticker sheet masking, can't wait. Thank you. Good job
I could live to a 120 and would never get anywhere near your level of expertise - this is a work of art - simple as! :)
Thats the wonderful part of this hobby. No license. No rules. You constantly learn by doing and research! Been doin it 45 yrs!

Ur not the only one, Theo!
finally by accident I saw the face of PLASMO... thank you for your videos , your builds are excellent....
Once again I’m blown away. Just incredible artistry. Thank you for taking the time to share these techniques!

Great tutorial. Even after 56 years of model building I can learn new tricks. What a beautiful hobby we have🖒
David--You are a smart man and a true artist--I never would have thought to do an optical illusion like that.
Another fantastic video!
I think this is the best model you have shown us....wonderful work.
Absolutely incredible. I would never have even thought of the crosses showing through the fabric. You have an incredible knack of noticing things like that. This model looks amazing but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised as every model you make is a work of art!
what a beautiful aircraft. i have built models for many yrs. just one WWI aircraft, looking for tips.
great job!!!
I just made my Oeffag with these steps and the overall result is very satisfying. Great tutorial!
I really don't get tired of watching these videos over and over again, PLASMO you are a crac brother, saludos desde México
Phew! I was starting to think I was one of the last people alive to match colours by eye! Love your work mate.
Yeah, but what if there's a person who matches colours by taste?
Taste
It always blows me away how such a simple technique will produce amazing results. I would be racking my brain for months trying to figure this out and try to find all these fancy materials.
That is a very pretty model. Looks like something straight out from Rise of Flight.
Simply love your work of art!
Sinlo Kemp simply or Sincerely
You kind of do modeling process an injustice, sir. You make it look way too easy. Amazing job.
I was re-watching you video for some tips on a WW1 Neiuport 17 I was building. Great work sir.
As ever David, your skill in modelling is matched by your ability to demonstrate clearly. Thank you!
Magnificent tutorial. Relaxing to watch with appropriate music. Thank you
WOW YOU ALWAYS THE BEST OF YOUR PROJECT...You are my mentor for that...
very nice the whole assembling of this plane is very nice too!!
I loved seeing the thought process at 8:15. "This way...wait...yes thats correct......wait.......yes."
Great work David. Lots of thought in to the details is what sets your models apart.
Amazing work. Looks like I have something to try now.

Going to try this on my next WWI biplane build. Thank you for the tip David. This technique certainly helps bring the model to life. 😊
Just awesome. The British would say Wizard. Thanks for the presentation as well. Most excellent.
Great video. You are so talented. Sharing your skills is a great help to people like myself trying to get back into model making and improving our skills. Thank you!
Your technique is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Love your videos! :-)
Once again a piece of art!!! Thank you for sharing your technique...
Great to see mixing paints by eye instead of relying on charts/percentages, David. Great video - the translucency of your wings is amazing!
I have never seen that done before.....making the wings appear transparent is incredible. Well done David 👍
Now that's clever. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video/tutorial, loved how you showed the markings showing through the fabric - nice touch (well, other than painting the 'N' backwards - lol)! Great looking model too.
Your see-through effect was brilliant!

wow. I watch a lot of modellers on RUclips. Many of them are superb but your works are always amazing to see. Great work David
Fantastic, best realistic paint job ever on a model
Another excellent video, David. Thanks!
Thanks so much for posting your work, the level of skill and attention to detail is astounding. I've learned many useful techniques and I admire very much your eye for detail and balance.
Great work on the wing shading technique, and good to see someone knows it’s all reversed on the underside for a change.
Your own work, Harry, is pretty good
Chicken soup for us Aussies!
Your an amazing artist. I love watching and learning from you.
Very nicely done David!
That is amazing. Such attention to detail.
Thank you for the lovely tutorial. I am trying to mimic the way you did your wings for my WingNutWings.
Wow this is really great. I never knew how to replicate the fabric effect. Thank you!
That is a level of detail that is incredible.. Wow.!!
I'll be honest, first time I saw the model all I could think was that Plastic is not meant to be that translucent
11:13 I call this: "How to become solid styren in a transparent styren". Fantastic work man.
Outstanding! I truly love watching your work. As always, thank you for sharing.
Steve
The end results looks incredible. This model has got to be winning golds if entered into shows

Amazing...truly amazing.
Amazing work just wunderful, keep up your great modling
Totally Amazing!
Absolutely fantastic work! I usually do scale armor but this is making me want to pick up a plane kit. Keep it up!
Did you do some planes? I find them a bit more of a challenge than tanks. However I still find myself looking at more Shermans and other AFVs.

This model belongs in a museum.
Speechless again.
I was debating if I should try this painting technique or using Aviattic linen decals.
I've so been wanting to find out how to do this!!!! Thanks so much!!!
