There’s one thing that can make it look more realistic. In short: the ends of the propeller must be darker. Wood has grain. End grain of the wooden planks absorb much more varnish, so it becomes darker after varnishing, compared to the sides. Since the edges of propellers are where the end grain at, after varnishing edges of the propeller become noticeably darker.
The Right Side of your brain is in overdrive and running on high octane. Mine goes into " Right Mode " just watching your videos. Inspiring! ( I do not even hear the music, or the wife! )Enjoyable. Thanks
After 15+ propeller painting experience; It's ok but It isn't better than white. This is why i use white intead of light wood color on the new video. Check the first video ;)
Thank you very much for your kind comments. IPA is Isopropyl alcohol. I forgot to add it to this video.
Planning my first WW1 model and decided to have another look at this video... Fantastic technique 🙌🙌🙌🏆
Most amazing propeller I’ve ever seen; incredibly well done, sir!
After this excellent video I paint my first WOODEN propeller and it painted perfect. Go on.
As an artist and a model maker, i am impressed with this technique. Really popped when that clear was applied. nice work.

What sorcery is this? 😀 Thank you for sharing. I’m going to find a model kit of a WWI plane just so I can try this technique.

Admittedly , don't build bi-planes but been in this hobby a long time and never seen this technique before. Going to try it on some rifle stocks. Thx!
Cant wait to do this on my Richthofen Fokker. Amazing.
That is just way to cool, thanks for sharing.
Very nice. Thanks. I've finally gotten around to giving a WW aircraft a try, and this will help (If I can pull it off).
It really looks great in the end, thumbs up.
Excellent technique, original method🙌 skillful fingers!
Wife away.
