  • The Jake Origin Story: I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

    I like these short daily videos. What I think would be helpful would be short quick summaries of the older blog posts, especially for newbies. All that initial close up reading is counter to what we need to be doing- distance AF. Also they would be a good review for those of us who have been at it for a while, but have hit plateaus. Thank you.

    About 10 years ago the optometrist snuck in 0.25 astigmatism correction! Uhhhhuraaaaah!!!! 😆... I only remember them saying you may have a little astigmatism! Well fortunately for me I've been mostly wearing contacts and they never added astigmatism correction to those...and now I order my own glasses! 👍👍👍

    Hi Jake! Loving your videos, and signed up for the program. Do I understand from your explanation that it's better to add 0,25 spherical correction than 0,5 of cylinder if possible when getting glasses done? I'm not sure I have astigmatism as I haven't had it on my glasses the last 10 years or so, but now I got 0,25 and 0,5. I believe it could be a mistake because of being a bit undercorrected in myopia? Just an hypothesis. At the same, time I don't want to go up in spherical correction if the whole eye doesn't need it. (Plus I can't add spherical to the eye that only has 0,25 astigmatism). I do see more clear for far distance with the astigmatism added but the optometrist asked me to try the classes and decide if I'm more comfortable with or without and I'm not sure what to do. The 0,5 cylinder eye sees blurrier in medium distance with the astigmatism correction, but better in long far distance. Many thanks!!🤗

      your eyesight is pretty good actually. You need glasses at full strength for important work like driving. Try getting one differential glass at SPH 0 for both eyes first for close-up work. You don't need glasses for normal tasks. After 3-4 months, if the differential glasses are ok, you can then reduce by .5 per side for cyl.@@aishashahzad2522

    So I think the way how this should work is for example: lets say starting with 0° -0.5 cyl for distance correction, the next step glasses would need 0° -0.25 cyl to get the right stimulus with active focus for the eye to change the shape of the eyeball more equally than a football. (Better avoid closeup activities and closeup glasses completely, right?)
    Another question is: When I have eliminated astigmatism and move on with spherical reductions, will astigmatism happen again on the way back, even if wont ever wear cyl corrective glasses again? It should not come again, right? Only these damn cyl corrective glasses have made the mess I think.

    I dumped all the astigmatism and was going nowhere for the last year. Plus im still spend entirely too much time in front of the computer. About 5 months ago I bought -4.0 Asymmetrical contacts and have made way more progress than the circles i was spinning in with glasses. Now my -4.50 glasses are too strong. Im wearing -4.0 no astigmatism now.
    Its like glasses sliding off my face restrict the muscles around my eyeballs or something. I can clear the Astigmatism to a certain extent but have to flex to maintain the clarity, still.
    Before that i was using torc contacts (12 years ago or more) and glasses i got around the same time which, i could barely walk out of the store with when they were new. She said it was because i hadn't wore glasses in so long but, i think there was something major wrong with them and it fkd me up worse than i already was. In the way of astigmatism. I forced myself to adjust to these 150$ glasses like 8 years ago or something

    Hello Jake i got a question about Active Focus when I'm moving back there is a blur but without blinking my eyes can refocus on the text after milliseconds and i can see it sharp again
    so when I'm doing active focus do i need to get to a point that when I'm moving back i just see a little of blur but my eyes after milliseconds can refocus again without blinking
    or do i need to get to a point when I'm moving back, my eyes cannot refocus again after milliseconds and then do the blinking to try to clear it up ?

    • @spirittouchrecords2785
      @spirittouchrecords2785 3 года назад

      Blinking is necessary. If you clear up just by refocus that is just refocus to a distance which you can already see clear. Active focus is about a distance which you cant see clear but after some blinking it will clear up.

    Astigmatism when caused by minus lenses is because they eye is controlling its own mechanism.
    Minus lenses for close work will shorten the eye for a period of time IF the eye could not more stretch -- generally after 20's or sometimes earlier.
    If you wear minus lenses for smartphone usage like 15 to 25 cm, you will make the letters blur or get fuzzy and its a signal that your eye are shifting towards hyperopia by the presbyopic effect..
    The eye doctor will gives you astigmatism correction in order to make the blurry letters get sharpen but at the same time kil*ing your natural improvement.
    On Bates' Book he talked about getting rid of myopia by the mechanism of presbyopia or hyperopia (Chapter IX) and he said about astigmatism being a signal of eyeball shifting towards hyperopia or as he said "a lessening of myopia".

      @@Krishna13847 I have not tried to improve astigmatism yet but the only logical way is to reduce the diopters. So you should use 0.25 cyl instead of 0.5 to reduce it. Same degree and same sphere. Dont reduce sphere and cyl at the same time. And it will take probably more than 3 months. You need to active focus on text at the distance (3 meters) and clear up the blur. I think reducing sphere first is most important. But it is of course wiser to reduce astigmatism and eye disbalance first before getting to 0

      @spirittouchrecords2785 2 года назад +3

      I actually improved sphere without any cylinder correction, although I have -1.25 left and -0.75 right. The astigmatism stayed the same. It is possible to improve sphere with all the ghosting. I would recommend to improve in the beginning without cylinder correction, if the ghosting is not very annoying.
