my theory is roger was too early due to the fact that joyboy (luffy) wasn't reincarnated yet- maybe it has something to do with the recent haki that we've seen in the recent chapter 1122? although roger knew the right person wasn't reincarnated yet- he also knew how long it was gonna take people to reach that final island- this supports the fact that he publicly announced it early. Despite saying that i believe it has something to do with haki, I believe the one piece is most likely an event that's set to occur- rather than an item.
