    I have hated theory my entire life, but this series makes it interesting. Instead of just learning theory you are applying it to a song so it has more context, makes it interesting. Thanks Sean, Great idea.

    Can you do more songwriting theory videos? Like explain the theory behind the chords and how they work together, for specific songs. For some reason no one on RUclips really does that.

      Check out MusicisWin, he does a lot of deep music stuff, but always goes into advertising for his classes (which aren't bad! I've bought one and it had a lot of good content!)

    Sean, great lesson as always but can you do a lesson on enjoy the silence by depeshe mode? I know there is not so much guitar but harmonies seems crazy in that song so it would be really nice to explains us what going.on there. :-)

    Great Work Sean! New appreciation here. I know people are down on DMB sometimes, but I heard that Satellite was initially a guitar e exercise. Is there some interesting 'theory' going on with those notes?

    I like the explanation of leaving room. I playing around with fl studio, and sometimes it sounds really clogged up. Maybe I should start thinking in terms of dyads instead of triads.

  • @ZebulaJams

    I always loved how John was able to write this song essentially around 3 chords but make them all sound completely unique and different to each other. By picking the F, C and Dmin an octave higher and then strumming them during the... Chorus? I guess you'd call it. Really an interesting way to look at building songs.

    Awesome video Sean! how would you go about playing this with a plectrum, as John does live? Its a style of playing he uses a lot, like on the song Murderers. Very nice guitar by the way, sweet colour. More Frusciante videos would be very much appreciated (maybe one on that insane Snow riff?). Thanks!

    Damn, that comment about about using the pieces of chords gave me one of those a-ha moments to use the pieces to allude to other notes and chords. I'm going to be playing with this idea for awhile now. Thank you

    I learned a different way, but you are providing a light bulb moment for me. Do you have tabs on what you are teaching, here in this video? Frusciante is my favorite living musician, so I absorb everything I can, but I am still pretty new and certainly still suck whole lots of ass. Oh shoot, I forgot the most important part: THANK YOU!

    great vid sean...I have this one problem..my hands is too small.I can play pretty well sitting but while standing i cant play properly because my hands is too small..Is there anyway to overcome this problem?

    • @seandaniel23
      @seandaniel23  7 лет назад

      I think the best advice I can give is to tighten your strap so there's not a lot of slack and the guitar isn't hanging low at all. It looks kind of awkward at first but it's good practice to get used to standing and playing while recreating a similar distance and angle to when you're sitting. Then as you get more comfortable start loosening the slack.

    Anyway, strange Led Zep cult behavior aside. What about The Black Keys' Lonely Boy? Or Little Black Submarine? Those were actually two of my ex's favorite songs that I've grown rather fond of in the months following our break up. Any Black Keys would be awesome tbh

    Anyway, thanks for the lesson.
