At last, a lesson that looks at the theory behind the riff. So many lessons just teach you how to play by rote and most don't even tell you what note you're playing (which isn't very musical imho!). I love lessons that deconstruct the song like this as it helps me write my own material and it actually makes the song easier to remember when you know the song key, scales and intervals used. Thank you!
This lesson is out of this world! I watched it a few years ago. It was good, I was happy about it, but I knew crap about theory. Not that I know some (still can’t play, though) I rewatched it and found it awesome!!!!
Just super. I started taking music theory seriously a few months ago (probably after watching another Sean Daniel production, ha!). These videos, putting together the pieces are really helping me to get practical. Keep it up!
Hey man dunno if you're into The Cure but it'd be really cool to do a riff deconstruction of Lullaby or Just Like Heaven maybe. Always found their sound really unique and mesmerizing. Love the videos as always!
Sean Daniel if I might suggest another video topic... I'd love to see a lesson on Ska guitar. I think it encompasses a lot of technique (upstrokes, left hand muting, hand synchronization, chord voicings) and it's a somewhat unique way to play.
The problem with Sean Daniel as I see it is the name Sean Daniel. Two first names doesn't sound like the rock star I believe you to be. You could opt for the easy solution and add an *s* at the end of Daniel and become Sean Daniels, but I say go big or go home. I'm thinking...now bear with me here *Chet Madison*. No? Not gelling? Ok, I've got more. *Jack Rifle*? Let's stay with the weapon inspiration. *Nile Machete*, *Sam Arreye*, *Charlton Switchblade*, *50Cal*, *Tyson Axe*, *Morgan Pickaxe*, *Jeff Pistol*. What do you think, any of these sausages sticking to the old mind ceiling?
Hey Sean, I watched a lot of your videos and was really impressed by the way you teach. I've been playing the guitar for a couple of years now, but have only very basic knowledge of theory, and there are so many things out there that I don't even know where to start. Do you think you can share with me which topics to approach & in which order. I want to able to find chords, play scales and later play by ear. Thanks in advance ^_^
I think it all depends on you and what kind of topics you want to learn more about. I have many playlists made which include a variety of different videos. Maybe try checking some of those out? This playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLTYcPY_1FKDRB9Bxj_2raQynEwQGpXIFp has many different videos that can help you with chord building and theory. Just scroll through and see which videos could best help you further your knowledge.

Great in depth look into the Em..the trooper on the Looper was super.
Love it!
Very nice. Adrian, Dave and Janick are incredible guitar players that work so well together. Nice lesson ^^
Thanks for watching!
I always wanted this type of lesson, glad I'm finally found it. It sucks to learn the songs and know exactly which scale I'm playing.
Thaks for watching!

\m/ Awesome, man! I love me some Iron Maiden! "Fear of the Dark" and "Number of the Beast" are my favorites, but "The Trooper" is a great one as well!
All great songs!

"Jessie's Girl" has some of the best 80's hookwriting, tho.
Damn right it does!

Please do a video on relative minor/major please
Thank you for watching!

I think Tyson Machete is going to be my frontrunner.
...and justice for all intro deconstruction!
Thanks for watching!
Neon by John Mayer would be a tremendous deconstruction
Thanks for the suggestion. Always down for some John Mayer.

Great video! Could you do dream on by Aerosmith?
Maybe in the future.
1 like for playing the second half of the opening riff.
Thanks for watching!
More like this but thin lizzy, better band than iron maiden IMO and they harmonise beautifully
More riff deconstructions to come.
how about some Metallica riffs?
ruclips.net/video/slKjNrL8e_A/видео.html I just did a riff deconstruction on Metallica.
