- Sometimes we encounter problems in booting our windows system up. Even after trying to do automatic startup repairs, the windows fail to boot. It gets stuck in a continuous failed boot loop. This may be because for some reason the windows boot manager is misfunctioning. In this video, we will completely rebuild the startup partition and boot files for windows.
For this, we will require Windows installation media. It can be created using an app called Rufus or Windows media creation tool from the Microsoft website. The process is simple and a guide to create windows installation media is covered in this video:
• Creating Windows Insta...
In this video, we have also covered the resolution to the Access denied message that we may receive while using bootrec fixboot command.
The list commands used in this video are:
diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
list partition
select partition 1
format
list vol
select vol 2
assign letter=g:
exit
bootsect /nt60 all /force
bcdboot c:\windows /s g: /f all
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootsect /nt60 sys
bootrec /rebuildbcd
exit
Note: Please use the disk, partition, and volume number as shown in your system. Also, use your systems path to the windows folder while using bcdboot command.
I hope this video helps in repairing your system's boot partition.
Thank you.
I don't have words to express how grateful I am for this video tutorial!!!! Since I decided to install Debian alongside Windows it just screwed up the mbr in a way that I couldn't fix. Even after uninstalling Debian. This tutorial fixed the problem very easily. Can't thank you enough for this!!!

You saved my life!!!!
What do I do if after
“ bcdboot c:\windows /s g: /f all “
it says
“failure when attempting to copy boot files” ?
I did all those steps but still the /nt60 sys command didn’t work
No found bootsect /nt60 sys. Dont foun partition error
thank you so muchhhh.. fix my issue.. i was using raid disk mirror and somehow the boot sector is located on the other targeted mirror disk only and not in the master disk
Still getting acces denied when trying bootrec /fixboot after bootsect /nt60 sys
I'm getting this error after completing all the steps above and restarting the windows 11 vm again normally:
Your PC device needs to be repaired
The operating system couldn't be loaded because the system registry file is missing or contains errors:
File: \windows\system32\config\system
error code: 0xc000014c
What should I do ?
And how do you expect me to do this when my computer is not functioning
After the steps in the video still not booting , i had to go to recovery and use the startup repair after that he repaired the c drive but when booted to windows a blue screen appeared, critical process died , after the restart it went to desktop...after couple minutes system service exception bsod .......i have installed a new ssd m2 and clone the other ssd and i had some bsod error but i couldn't see in the bsod viewer and i have changed the uefi to legacy and changed to something else there and because of that was not booting in the first place , no i am running chkdsk and found errors again, i hope i am going to fix it because I don't have time to reinstall windows again 😅
it work for me 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have completed all the steps as mentioned. Just as you showed on the main screen the fixboot command was successful after the 2th time. But the same problem occurs, when the PC is starting up it enters the windows where I can press 'del' for example. And after a few seconds, it crashes and reboots in the same loop over and over
You may try other commands like:
1. chkdsk f /r C: (C denotes the system volume)
2. DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
3. sfc /scannow
There may be some other thing that may be causing issue. Few months back I had an issue in my system where my laptop was booting fine and then crashing. Then rebooting and crashing. Sometimes it rebooted till the windows logo appeared then froze and crashed. The cycle continued. After all software trouble shooting, I tried checking my RAM. I used windows memory diagnostic tool and my laptops Hardware diagnostic tool, to check my RAM. The diagnostic tool checks for hardware issues before booting into OS. So it rules out all probable software related issue. The extensive test found that one of my RAM stick was failing. But the failure was not persistent. RAM failed 3 out of 4 times. So, I took out the RAM. Blew dry air to remove any dust on the pins on the board. Used an eraser to rub the pins of the RAM gently and remove any possible carbon deposition. Then cleaned the RAM pins with Isopropyl alcohol. Then seated the RAM in its slot. Since then, the crashes are gone and the RAM passes 5 consecutive extensive Hardware diagnostic test. May be RAM is giving issue in you case. You may try testing your RAM when all software troubleshooting fails.
i love you ❤
It's not working i get access denied then the requested system cannot be found
Try using the USB in 2.0 port, or try windows repair optical disc.
May be your system disk is GPT. A GPT system disk boots Windows with UEFI/EFI mode. If the repair disc/USB comes with MBR boot mode, Windows cannot find the requested system device. If Windows also report the installed version was not a compatible Windows version, you can turn off the UEFI boot in BIOS and run the repair commands again.
Can i disconnect the usb boot pendrive once I'm done with this process? Btw thanks it's working now
