This just fixed my over the top slice. Thanks. I was going crazy trying to figure it out.
Glad I could help!
Craig. That was the most intensive valuable use of my RUclips time in a decade !!( I am developing music ability as well) . I will have to watch and rewatch to realize the true value of what you have systematically laid out for us. Definite save ! THANK YOU. Jm
Thanks Jim really appreciate it that 👍👍👍.. so good to hear
This is amazing, of all the lessons, no one has ever said anything about the right hand like this. Creating this wrist angle provides so much more control at impact as it feels like you can drive the club through vs feeling like a noodle that randomly moves through impact. You can feel the control and the snap on the ball impact immediately with this simple adjustment. You typically hear instructions that the toe should point up at 12 o'clock in the horizontal position in the take away. Thanks for this tip. Pure gold.
You’re very welcome! .. really one of the most important areas of the swing! - That makes ball striking so much easier.
Really appreciate you taking the time to write
👍👍👍
What a great lesson!!! Thanks, Stavros
Great stuff. I really like how you are not being super strict on positions, instead are framing them as windows to pass through. This accounts for the natural variations in stature, proportions, flexibility and swing path.
Thanks 👍.. nice post
Flippin' ek!!! Ok, so... this particular video randomly showed up in my RUclips feed last night. It struck a chord with me as I always struggle with flipping the hands at impact no matter what I try to counteract it.
I play 9 holes every morning before starting work and normally end up around 9 over. I implemented the tips in your video and was 3 over after 9. Decided to go round again and was 3 over again after another 9! I have never, ever done that. The strikes felt crisper and the greens I missed were just off, so dispersion was vastly better as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this video. Much appreciated. Cheers.
That’s a great post! Thanks very much for taking the time! .. Great to hear 👊👊👊👊👊👊
This video is everything i needed and more. Thank you so much for putting correct quality golf swing videos on RUclips. Breath of fresh air amongst all the nonsense on RUclips. One of the few quality channels.
Thanks so much 👍👍👍👍
I live in Pennsylvania and only golf a few times in the summer. I used to play up to a dozen times a year over a dozen years ago and played to about a 12 handicap with a totally wrong understanding of how to swing the club. It is through practicing what I have learned in this video along with one of your other videos that I hope to finally compress the ball for the first time in my life. Thank you so much for the common sense advice, Craig! Liked and Subscribed!
Thanks so very much 👍👍
I highly recommend online lessons from Craig! Get your swing analysed by the best. I mean who else can analyse a swing like he does.
👊👊😊😊.. thanks i’ll have to give you percentage 😃
its 1am and I'm up with a club studying my different positions in the mirror. 16 minute masterclass. thank you.
😊😊👊👊.. That’s great!
My tip after finally figuring this out 25 years after starting golf, is that compression/forward shaft lean is created with the SHOULDERS/BODY TURN... NOT ARMS/WRISTS.
PGA players are at full arm extension after the golf ball, meaning that the golf club is delayed behind them during the golf swing. Examples of this motion to get the feeling are skipping a stone, casting a fishing rod, or even just single dominant arm swinging. Another example would be to face your chest and head toward the target, and the swing the club back and forth.
You can really exaggerate this as much as you want to knock of 5, 10, or even 15 degrees of launch angle and get that "flighted" or "compressed" shot that makes watching the pros in person so cool.
Thanks for your opinion
@@CraigHansonGolf Thank you for your classy reply.
Probably my biggest problem actually in my swing. Thanks for these drills, i can't wait to try them and see the improvement
Your welcome
Craig this is the best instruction on RUclips. The way you break it down is just brilliant. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! - Thanks for taking the time to post 👍👍
Wow, thanks! 👊👊
I've been working on this, this year. What I'm finding is I'm now hooking the ball (life time pusher or slicer). If you haven't worked on this, it's timing. I haven't quite got it down yet.
Keep going 👍👍..
Your swing is just so good! …Sometimes I just watch it over and over again love the content Craig thank you so so much.
That’s great to hear i’ve definitely hit my share of golf balls 😊
You have improved my swing so much Craig thanks
Nice to hear thank you so much 👍👍
His online lessons are amazing highly recommend. Another great video Craig

Craig. Great explanation of how the right wrist should be during the swing. I finally got it after watching this! Thanks for making golf enjoyable again!
You’re welcome! - glad it’s helped
Your knowledge on the swing is mind blowing! .. Best on Youtub
Glad you liked it and thanks for taking the time to post i really appreciate that 👍👍👍
Thanks a lot Craig👍👍👍👍🤗

that’s great to hear 👍👍
Thanks Graig. Great lesson. I sometimes forgot about this action, but it so important. Thanks again. 🔥🙏🏻
Your very welcome thanks for taking the time to share 👍👍
This was the missing link for me; much easier to create a good consistent strike doing this! Feels like my good ones nearly all the time. Thanks for the info
Your welcome
What a great video. You are great at your craft, excellent communicator. Thanks for the very informative lesson!
Your very welcome thanks

Yesterday was my first time out this year. Used your "show your phone" move on the backswing and it worked great for me. THANK YOU!
Your welcome 👍👍👍👍
This is literally what im working on right now...i hit my driver good- but no distance really outta my irons...My youtube algorithm is reading my mind lately..
Ha ha ha … good luck 👍👊
Some teachers say to feel or turn your knuckles of your left hand pointing down towards the ground /ball on the downswing.Your thoughts please.
I’ve never had much success with the left hand pointing down in the downswing… you?
Why 99% of golf tuition tube videos are using percentage figure lies of why false percentage figures of amateurs clickbait headlines?
it’s very simple! - it’s get people’s attention. Like a newspaper article.
Newspapers nd other forms of media have employed attention-grabbing techniques for years, often referred to as “sensationalism.” Headlines that exaggerate or dramatize stories have been a staple in print journalism to attract readers and sell more copies. This practice, known as “yellow journalism” in its more extreme forms, shares similarities with modern clickbait in its aim to draw attention and boost readership.
It improves, views, revenue, popularity levels, which in turn have a huge positive chain reaction on to many things to mention.
@@CraigHansonGolf Exactly and the exact same goes for politics. It's all wrong!
@@EvilWorldOfGreed-do1ox welcome to the world
I believe this number is more accurate than you think, according to the usga 3.7% of golfers that carry a usga handicap is 6 or better, this doesn’t count the many millions of golfers that don’t carry a usga handicap, and I bet no one above a 6 is doing this with their wrists, not trying to start an argument just saying this number is more accurate than you think
Thanks for your lesson. Is it also applicable to driver?
Your welcome .. Yes
Idea with the knife at the butt end of the grip I like it. Teaching the boys how to play,
👍👍👍
All these little points add up and give a serious golfer something to take to the course and try out.
Definitely. 👍
Awesome. Do you keep your arms relaxed throughout this drill?
Yes 👍
With the left wrist is it like the motorcycle drill on the downswing to keep the clubface square and then releasing after impact
I’ve never had much luck with that motorcycle drill. What about yourself? .. that’s why i didn’t put it in it feels so unnatural that motorcycle drill.
I have some success when in a period of slicing the ball. Quite effective for driver. I prefer your method of release less thinking. Malaska also has the same release type i think
Hi Craig, when you practice the 12 degree shaft lean at impact, at what point does it become dragging the handle? Or is that something not to worry about. I've seen Pga tour players and some others talk about releasing the club by the right leg area so they dont drag the handle through impact. Any clarification on this would be great. Thank you
I don’t think it’s possible to write about when someone should try and release the club when never having seen their swings.
I just don’t think written golf tips is the way to go.
kind regards
Hi Craig. Your training videos are very informative. I am wondering if you can let me know what driving range mat brand you are using. It seems to be able to take your iron practice swings well. I would like one in my shed for practice. thanks.
I’m not sure what it is i remember buying 2 .. 15 years ago i ordered soft or cushioned mats here with a German company
No worries, thanks Craig
This is exactly what the Rory Mcilroy training aid, ProSendr is all about. Right wrist bent. I own the device and even with the training device, its not perfect.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I'm left handed, and i keep my right hand rotated towards my back at setup.
I just hinge my wrist during the swing, no rotation to square the face needed...
That’s the Deep to Shallow swing style 👍
Just had my eureka moment about half way through this video. Thank you extremely appreciative! Edit: also good idea im also putting a bayonet on my clubs now too. Never know might need it when playing down in Florida 😂😂
That's a great idea! 😊👍
😊😊👊
Glad it was helpful!
The best content in RUclips! … Thanks Craig
Your very welcome 👍👍
Also they say when you turn your knuckles down you must make sure you turn your hips more to stop the ball going left
Thanks for sharing Raymond really appreciate it 👍👍👍
Is that oversized wedge available anywhere? Is it an old Momentus product? Can’t find it anywhere, seems like it would be useful for practicing face control.
I don’t think they make it anymore
How is this extension move of the right wrist affected by a strong starting grip at address?
It helps keep the left shoulder down which is a great match up ..
@@CraigHansonGolf so a strong grip at address paired with right wrist extension does not lead to chronic misses to the left?
Not only skill guys, they are flexible and strong enough to create the speed as well.
Everyone can currently improve
Just off to A&E cut the main vein in my left leg🤣
😊👌
i struggle with low hooks when trying this
Your shoulder bends are probably incorrect. Sounds like your searching for information that you don’t know what your doing exactly?
Which is a shame. Take an online lesson from me and i will send you a 20 minute analysis of your swing. Then you will have exact drills and answers for your swing 👍
Jesus is that a real knife!?
Ha ha ha ha .. i laughed when i saw that. Yes it was a real knife m wife got angry when she saw the video “ she said is that my real good expensive knife, what are you doing with it “… 😀
Great videos but please slow down :)
Thanks … well that’s your opinion that i have to slow down
the video is performing well .. i’m not going to think about how fast i should talk. I have never ever heard that after 42 million views all up.
So should i listen?
@@CraigHansonGolf Better yet! Check your ego!
@@colinbooky1150 Actually it makes sense not to listen to everyone Colin. Because in the end it’s just an opinion.
Since i’ve sped up and been more alive i’m getting more views. More followers. More business.
I’m sorry if it comes across as arrogant
But once again. Should i listen!?

So strickly speaking about wrist movement for a right-handed player. If I were to address the ball and I only moved my wrists. The wrist would hinge, and the club would move to the right? Rather than the wrist cocking and moving the club straight up?
I don’t really understand what you mean .. sorry
@CraigHansonGolf Sorry, try this example.
If I held my right arm straight out in front of myself. Then, I moved my wrist to simulated what it would do in a golf swing. Would my wrist hinge up or hinge sideways?
@@b.l.275 a little bit of both
Dear lord, please tell me that was not a real knife!!! 🔪

That’s good 😊
Amazing how a title can make such a difference in views
Short arms suck. 😭
Do you have short arms?
@@CraigHansonGolf was told i did. 188cm in golf shoes. wrist to floor 97cm
This takes to long
What takes to long Tony?
@zacradford has made it
Pretty impressive stingers that he shares! .. don’t you think?
Ben Hogan's "waiter's tray" trail wrist position says it all. Bowed lead wrists ensure it. Moe Norman used it. If you had a 3ft. long hammer handle, how would you knock in a nail in a 2 by 4 at ground level? That would be by having the wrist of the hand holding it pronate. That is the strongest and most efficient use of the wrist for power and speed. It's not called a "strong" grip for nothing...
