    This is amazing, of all the lessons, no one has ever said anything about the right hand like this. Creating this wrist angle provides so much more control at impact as it feels like you can drive the club through vs feeling like a noodle that randomly moves through impact. You can feel the control and the snap on the ball impact immediately with this simple adjustment. You typically hear instructions that the toe should point up at 12 o'clock in the horizontal position in the take away. Thanks for this tip. Pure gold.

    Great stuff. I really like how you are not being super strict on positions, instead are framing them as windows to pass through. This accounts for the natural variations in stature, proportions, flexibility and swing path.

    Flippin' ek!!! Ok, so... this particular video randomly showed up in my RUclips feed last night. It struck a chord with me as I always struggle with flipping the hands at impact no matter what I try to counteract it.
    I play 9 holes every morning before starting work and normally end up around 9 over. I implemented the tips in your video and was 3 over after 9. Decided to go round again and was 3 over again after another 9! I have never, ever done that. The strikes felt crisper and the greens I missed were just off, so dispersion was vastly better as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this video. Much appreciated. Cheers.

    I live in Pennsylvania and only golf a few times in the summer. I used to play up to a dozen times a year over a dozen years ago and played to about a 12 handicap with a totally wrong understanding of how to swing the club. It is through practicing what I have learned in this video along with one of your other videos that I hope to finally compress the ball for the first time in my life. Thank you so much for the common sense advice, Craig! Liked and Subscribed!

  • @BigDawgCAM

    My tip after finally figuring this out 25 years after starting golf, is that compression/forward shaft lean is created with the SHOULDERS/BODY TURN... NOT ARMS/WRISTS.
    PGA players are at full arm extension after the golf ball, meaning that the golf club is delayed behind them during the golf swing. Examples of this motion to get the feeling are skipping a stone, casting a fishing rod, or even just single dominant arm swinging. Another example would be to face your chest and head toward the target, and the swing the club back and forth.
    You can really exaggerate this as much as you want to knock of 5, 10, or even 15 degrees of launch angle and get that "flighted" or "compressed" shot that makes watching the pros in person so cool.

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Месяц назад +4

      it’s very simple! - it’s get people’s attention. Like a newspaper article.
      Newspapers nd other forms of media have employed attention-grabbing techniques for years, often referred to as “sensationalism.” Headlines that exaggerate or dramatize stories have been a staple in print journalism to attract readers and sell more copies. This practice, known as “yellow journalism” in its more extreme forms, shares similarities with modern clickbait in its aim to draw attention and boost readership.
      It improves, views, revenue, popularity levels, which in turn have a huge positive chain reaction on to many things to mention.

    Hi Craig, when you practice the 12 degree shaft lean at impact, at what point does it become dragging the handle? Or is that something not to worry about. Ben Hogan's "waiter's tray" trail wrist position says it all. Bowed lead wrists ensure it. Moe Norman used it. If you had a 3ft. long hammer handle, how would you knock in a nail in a 2 by 4 at ground level? That would be by having the wrist of the hand holding it pronate. That is the strongest and most efficient use of the wrist for power and speed. It's not called a "strong" grip for nothing...
