    Thank you so much Craig for the detailed explanation regarding the trail hand release. This is something I never thought about. I was actually doing the opposite as the trail hand was straight and then very cupped during follow through. The idea of a bowed trail hand immediately helped my issues with losing my posture, toe hits, and lack of speed. I can’t believe something so simple made such a dramatic difference in my overall ball striking. My miss now is now an over-draw! I will be signing up to your program. This is gold!

    This is a great way to understand how to use the body correctly during the backswing. Most people are too handsy going back. wrists should be passive with the club outside the hands during the takeaway. Excellent drill! This sets u up for a powerful and effortless release😊

    Your channel NEVER disappoints with top end instruction! Can you talk a bit about the slowing down of the body/arms to actually increase club head speed, the crack the whip effect? Is it only the body that slows because of its shift and post up at the wall? Or do the arms slow up too as you post up, causing or allowing the hands to release the club? Thanks for all you do!

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Месяц назад

    • @thomasjefferson8939

      The physics of golf dictate that the angular momentum produced by the swing travels to the club head at impact. Yes, the arms must slow to enable this but you dont have to think about it consciously. Body, arms, hands, and club head are always moving and if the sequence is correct, the club head moves extremely fast at contact. A physics professor explained to me how the combination centripetal for and the conservation of angular momentum work. Most hand speed by professionals are produced during the very first part of the downswing, not the final hit area. This is confirmed by measurement, as shown by the folks at Athletic Motion Golf.

    • @thomasjefferson8939
      @thomasjefferson8939 Месяц назад +1

      Centripetal force, that is. Not centrifugal force, which is fictitious. Again, explained to me by a physics professor.

    Craig, thx for this great explanation -simply the best! Questions: the difference between wedges and drivers - is this because of the shaft length, ball position and therefore swingplane mainly? How is this for the other clubs? Thx for your answer. Vbr

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Месяц назад

      Yes it’s because of the length of the clubs abd different address positions 👍👍

    That was Awesome Craig, after I watch your videos I just wanna get up and start ripping golf shots, of course most of my shots aren't pure but when I do pure it, that's the feeling that keeps me wanting to chase that shot, sounds crazy right, well golf is like no other sport, when you stated, thats why most of us can't hit baby draws , my brains like ,no way that sounds like a challenge to me lol.lol, now I'm after that release and baby draw. I love it, no other sport motivates me like golf, I guess it's up to me , not a team of athletes.really good job on this video, so much great information to practice and get the proper feels back.

    Craig how actively are you using force in your hands to release like this over the years I’ve been kind of passive with the hands and I think it’s costing me speed but I’m not sure. Thanks for all the great instruction

    So you would say most tour pros start to release the club at parallel to the ground on the downswing or is it earlier. I'm working on this release style again, but can't seem to get a divot with the irons so i think I'm too early. Great videos! Keep em coming!

      Thanks … it’s difficult to answer because i haven’t seen your swing.
      I think instead of guessing it would be so good for you to have me analyse your swing like the RUclips video.
      Send me your swing from your phone and i’ll send you a 15-30 minute tutorial of your swing in a compressed email.
      With the drill and feel you need currently.
      That’s what will really improve you quickly. 👍

    There is no question the wrists go into flexion and extension after impact. But, they are rotating also. Otherwise the face of the club will be wide open. Hack motion graphs prove that all good players have a lot of rotation just before and after impact.

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Месяц назад +1

      It’s this move that also creates a lot of the rotation… Dr Neal has shown us a lot of fascinating data on the hands and wrists.
      The idea is educate amateurs to free up their hand and wrist motions..

    The examples you showed at the beginning of the video look like the Golfers haven't properly transferred their weight to their lead side. Also, in order to develop an effective release, Golfers need to understand how the club needs to be set by the wrists on the way back, to then enable them to move down, through and release the club face squarely - to develop the feel. I like your content but this video seems to be a bit confusing. It seems you're talking about the outcome which is only an effect of the process points I refer too.

    • @rw_golf6387

      I can say from doing this drill and working backwards from the outcome this trail hand release has had an immediate impact on my swing! Of course the release is after you hit the ball but if you get this right this helps with so much other stuff assuming you have a fairly good swing to start with. Starting with the outcome and working backwards can be an excellent learning method. Move slow and feel what is happening to your body. Even try closing your eyes as you feel the movement. This works, but you have to be patient. Good luck.

    This is how i release, easy to shape the ball and hit long and straight. There are drills on utube that can ruin a swing especially the ones trying to get shaft lean.
