- How to replace and repair window regulator 2010 Mazda CX-7. this is a great DIY job to save yourself a lot of money. i show you how to remove the motor so if you buy a new one you can put it in and if not you can buy the gear and replace it.

At last someone has described the symptoms of my faulty window!! Now I know what parts to get, and don't have to remove the inner cover !! Effing dealer quoted me $450aud to fix it, so you've saved me a heap, thanks buddy! 👍

Great video! I work in an auto factory and I built doors every day for 3 years. I was quite comfortable ripping apart my daughter's CX7 and diagnosed the problem to be in the motor. BUT I NEVER THOUGHT TO GO AS FAR AS SPLIT THE MOTOR AND REPLACE THE GEARS! I am so going to do this instead of pay the cash for the new motor. $190 Canadian. Thanks for going the extra step and for providing links where to get the gears etc. The world needs more people like you!
Thank you sir that truly means a lot. Ya most people just replace the motor itself. But I wanted to be able to show everyone the main problem and make it an easier fix. Also if you have a 3D printer you can actually print the gear. I made a video on that recently where my other window went out and switched it with a 3D printed part. Anyways glad I could help! Just got my 2010 CX-7 and both driver and passenger doors have this window stuck issue, I was told that when that jamming sound is heard, lift the window manually (guess to bypass those broken teeth) then glass moves. I am pretty sure it is the same cause and thank you for saving me trouble shooting further. Looks like Mazda choose a bad subcontractor for these gears, as so many owners encounter the same problem😁

Thanks! works great now! After I put back together, my door handle from the inside won’t open the door. Do you know what I need to do to fix?

But as for the door handle there’s not much to it but it’s hard to say without being there best thing you can do is take the door back off and look at where it attaches and try to manually pull the rod. If that doesn’t work you may have to follow the rod and see where the problem is. Thanks for watching!

You can also remove the speaker and hold the back of the window regulator so it don't pop out, instead of taking the inside panel off

great vid thanks! im attempting this tomorrow, just wondering if you have any tips / pointers for not pushing the gear through when putting the motor back on? i'd just rather try to avoid taking the door panel off.. or is it unavoidable?
Thanks! So, unfortunately you will have to remove the door panel but it’s super easy to remove. Installing it back in to the door it has play room where to line it up. just take your time. Move it back and forth to find that sweet spot. Once you align it, it will fall right in. Hope this helps! I just did this the other day on the driver side this time. I used a 3D printer to make the part. It’s pretty cool. Thanks for watching!

Are you holding the motor and regulator or just the motor? Rick says below that the regulator was the part that remained in the door.
I’m holding the motor. Which attaches to the regulator and work together to move the window up and down. Thanks for watching!
