Thank you so much for a great detailed video, my mechanic quoted me $450 to fix this in Australia....it cost me $7 for the part and took 20 minutes...you legend:)
wow!!!! I was actually able to do it!! its pretty crazy going into your car door and fixing a tiny little gear. I'm so happy my window is fixed just in time for summer! thank you a million times ♡
@@asysz I just opened 2 old motors I had lying around when I replaced them last time, and both had the exact same problem. Many thanks. I will fix my windows now.
Thanks for showing the speaker removal to get access to the regulator gear. I was swapping the left front window motor with the right rear motor in my Mazda 6 which was simple enough except the regulator gear fell back into the door. If I had some T-Rod I could of threaded that into the regulator gear and just slid the motor over it but I was running out of daylight so I came in the house and found your video. Slapped myself on the head and ran out and got the motors installed. Earlier I did order a new motor and a set of gears but I needed a quick fix for that drivers window because I have a road trip to make on Sunday and I really did not want to risk getting pulled over by the police and not have a properly working window. Thanks for putting up this video it saved my butt. I still had to use a flash light to finish the right rear door but its done and I rarely roll the rear windows down so its not a big deal.
Thank you soooooooo much for explaining what that loud grinding/ poping noise was! I took my whole panel off to inspect what the issue was and was wondering why my window motor worked, but the window would stop going up at a certain point, and thus needed to be grabbed and manually pulled up. I knew the motor worked but didn't understand why I stopped working at a certain point and you are the only one who explained this in detail. I researched both videos on RUclips and forums but no clear answer other than replacing this or that. Thank u so much
Thanks for the detailed video, I had the exact same issue on my Mazda 6 2004 (Europe) and as soon as I heard your window, I knew I had found my fix. I bought the part on Aliexpress, and just installed it. I also had to take out my speaker to reach behind it and hold the other side of the motor in place, in order to screw it in, but it was easy. Thanks for the hammer tip because I would have spent a lot more time trying to pry open the motor. Also, I don't remember if you mention this in the video, but if you do this and after it, the auto up/down function doesn't work, fixing it is easy: Turn off the car, turn car to ON, fully open the driver's window, fully close it, and KEEP pressing the "up" button for 2 seconds. This needs to be done 40 secs after turning the car to ON. (I found this info on the workshop manual).
Thank you for making this video. My 2007 Mazda 3 window started with the same grinding noise and the window won't roll up! I'll put to practice what I've learned today. 😎
This is a fantastic video. I appreciate your clarity. Thank you, also, for keeping your language clean and professional. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Man I don't know how you got that motor apart. I broke both tabs trying to undo them and have given that thing quite a few whacks and it won't budge. Dang thing feels like it was welded together. Thanks Mazda ...
Thank you for the tutorial. Bought spare parts on Amazon and it all worked out for me. Just one quick question. Any idea where could be the cable connecticng lock/unlock switch? Not sure, if it was there before I took the door panel off. And I have never used it before. But I can see it in your video, so makes me wonder where the hell that cable disapeared 😃
I forgot to install the small o-ring between the replacement gear and the main drive gear. Window seems to work fine. Should I take apart everything and correct this mistake or is it fine without the small o-ring?
I’ll assume that it’s an o-ring that keeps dust out. If it were to have an issue down the road, you’d have had to take the motor apart again anyway, so I think you’re fine.
Same broken piece on my car. I bought a window motor for 20 bucks. Next time will just buy the gear. Where to buy the plastic gear? Your link shows unavailable.
So should you make sure the window is rolled completely down take take pressure off the regulator thingy or keep the window up? It is unclear to me. Thanks in advance.
I believe you hold the down switch until you hear the relay click in the door, then hold it in the up position until you hear the click. Then the express should work again.

@@craigbusuttil yes sure was, made a knocking sound aswell
@@ClaudeHayMusic copy that mate. My wife's sounds almost like a shitty (wobbly) runner? Might try this too and see if it helps .. $7 why not haha

Thanks for the tutorial. I will be replacing the gear in my car this weekend.
I love your comments at the end of the dealership trying to force all that other crap down our throats. LOL stop on.
Thank you very much for spending your time, you know how to explain in a simple way, really, well, thank you

For the right front door is there a screw under the handle cover because they are different with the driver's door.
Excellent video! Thanks heaps from Australia 👌🏼
Yes, it did help a lot; thanks, kid. I Will never buy Mazda again. It used to be a good car, but not anymore.
That's the ticket!
Tytyty, opening that gearbox tutorial is very rare.
I hope it helped you out!
Thank you very much. You are a champion 🏆
Excellent video, thank you
Thank so much my friend, I when through the same steps on my 2010 C-X7 and I was able to changed mine 🙏

How durable is this fix.... like how long before this break again?
Same broken piece on my car. I bought a window motor for 20 bucks. Next time will just buy the gear. Where to buy the plastic gear? Your link shows unavailable.
Does this fix apply to the 08 MazdaSpeed 3 vehicle line?
So should you make sure the window is rolled completely down take take pressure off the regulator thingy or keep the window up? It is unclear to me. Thanks in advance.
You just want to make sure it’s not fully up or fully down. Somewhere in between should take the tension off the motor. Good luck!
repair motor gear ok,but not one touch faulty how to fix it auto on off for window?
I believe you hold the down switch until you hear the relay click in the door, then hold it in the up position until you hear the click. Then the express should work again.
I replaced the entire drive motor, but the window goes all the way up and then goes half-way down. Seems like it is out of synch.
Dafuuuuq! Hammer ain’t working. Two halves seem to be heat welded.
Edit: Hehe! Nevermind, I just went temporarily insane. Derp!
Thanks!
Glad it worked out for ya! 😅
My CX9 rear window is doing that and I can't find the gear for the 2016.
