I don't remember where I was during 911 cause I was 3 most likely I was at my grandmas while my parents were at work but I was in 8th grade social studies when the marathon bombing happened i was also in the same class when Newtown ct school shooting happened my teacher saw the news and her computer and pulled it up on the smart board I would hangout with my uncle at his place every day after school and everyday up until the last bombers capture we would watch the news I remember the night when they shot the mit cop when the carjacked Danny when they got into that shootout in Watertown then I remember when they found him hiding in the boat and watching it on TV until they finally caught him this movie was a very good depiction of that week not just the police pov but also the civilians pov around the country and world just thinking they need to catch these guys or they might do it again somewhere else
That’s such an incredible and quick decision by him. Probably never would’ve never gotten another chance to escape. If this movie is accurate, he was incredibly smart and brave under extreme pressure. He potentially saves lives in NY as well as
The real guy was named Danny Meng, and he was on set during the filming of the movie, he basically stated that this is a word for word, event for event recreation of his experience.
He almost killed an older Asian man years ago, before anyone ever heard of him. He's a felon AND a couple years ago tried to get his record scrubbed! He's a total jerk!
They did horrible things but "Ok put your seatbelt on" and "I will get him something to eat" was a wonderful addition to the movie, a kind of comedy in a very serious movie.
According to Danny, the guy who was on set during production, all the dialogue heard in the car was word-for-word in detail while he was in the car. Not just writing, this stuff happened
Jimmy O’yang, he mostly does stand up and comedic rolls, so this was definitely different for him. Also this movie was the first thing I saw him in funny enough.
Cool fact, the REAL Danny was actually on set to guide Jimmy O'Yang with all the details he could recall, so the dialogue heard by those two guys asking Danny to fasten his seatbelt and if he wanted any snacks was actually accurate. There were a lot of witnesses, victims and people from the line of duty who helped with the production of this film
I appreciate that this movie showed us the perspective of the Tsarnaev's as well. This movie is all about humanizing everyone, including them, but it's clear that they were really fucking ugly and evil inside. I'm sure Danny Meng learned a lot about their psyches during his time in that car.
Hold on hold on These guys were fine with bombing a fucking marathon and possibly other areas...but bro put the fucking snacks back and like...apologized for doing that it looked like? So bombing was a-ok, but we draw the line at shoplifting????
That's actually a good point to include in the film, showing the differences between morals here and morals in Islam. But yeah dude no dip, bombing was bad man
I love how this movie uses the real CCTV footage, I don't know if there has ever been any movie like it before.
Oh wth jmw didn’t expect to see you here
Can you do a GTA 5 RP that references the Boston Marathon Bombings?
More people in New York would’ve died and thanks to him escaping they didnt
I agree

The government should have offered him a PR or citizenship

This movie from what I've heard is pretty accurate. Even this man escaping is real.
The real guy was named Danny Meng, and he was on set during the filming of the movie, he basically stated that this is a word for word, event for event recreation of his experience.
The movie using security footage of his actual escape is as real as it gets.
1:36 I'm convinced Mark Wahlberg just accosted two random guys on the street who weren't actors lol
It would be funny if before the scene cut, you could quietly hear them say “Isn’t that Mark Wahlberg?”
He almost killed an older Asian man years ago, before anyone ever heard of him.

@@kendallevans4079 that crap was in 1988 get over it. Like were you even alive back then? What are we, 1984?
@@gavins9846Mark has shown he’s a racist bigot POS since 1984 there have been many instances so FOH and try again 🙄

Well because that’s how he was. Whenever his brother told him to leave he placed back all the food he would’ve bought and said sorry to the clerk
The Danny guy is a really good actor.

he was HILARIOUS on Silicon Valley - I highly recommend watching that if you haven’t seen it

Bruh government made them evil look how they cease fire and left Iraq all for nothing troops our troops fought for nothing
Dude this scene should be shown in film schools as an example of how to create tension in a movie. And boy can Jimmy Yang ACT.
New York owes him a debt
I love that Jimmy is in this 😂
F*#k you was indeed personal 😂
"I was afraid, but I was not a coward"
for real
These guys are out of their mind.
"Sees two two eigh, Oh-kay"
Was that the actual camera footage of him in the gas station?
Yes, this film uses real surveillance footage
Apparently so, the photos of him being arrested are also real, with the lasers right on his head.
If i was ever to be an officer, this is the call i would be waiting for. I would absolutely die in the line to help that poor man.
5:23 *He seems fine to me. The guys were gonna give him food.*
That suspense music thoe makes the scene more extreme
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross know their stuff.
