The guy JK Simmons plays Sgt Jeff had about 30 years of law enforcement experience and previously served in the Army as a Military Police Officer so yeah the man really is a OG in real life

Honestly surprised he didn’t get lit up when he got out after all that shit went down
Unfortunately, sh*t happens in high-tense situations. An officer was just shot, calling for ambulance over the radio, suspect fleeing, and everything happened in quick succession.
Not saying it’s ok this happened (why shoot at a fleeing truck even with context involved?), but with how chaotic the radio was (plus everyone on different frequencies), some cops probably didn’t fully hear the description or it was lost in translation from dispatch. Some cops also call SUVs trucks.
Just some added context, but that’s a massive mistake especially with that many cops opening fire from both agencies. It’s hard to know for sure how that happened.
You'd be surprised how many security or law enforcement professionals don't have very good vehicle recognition. If you fully debadged a vehicle there's a lot who could not tell what a vehicle was.

@@MeerkatADV not only that, but the "we heard black truck" says how confusing was the info between at least 3 police departments (as i can see in the scene)
I just love it when the FBI or CIA are always like "This guy actually was on one of our lists." After the fact they committed some heinous attack.

Neither was on any kind of "list". The older brother was interviewed by the FBI after a foreign intelligence agency said he might be involved with extremists and then refused to provide any further information.
@@kevinfanning8027 The problem is, you either establish strict criteria and have a small list of people you're all over, or else everybody goes on some sort of list but there's so many names it's not feasible to actually do anything with the list. Both approaches have problems.

Love Simmons's character how he was so calmed and said he's gonna flank them (which was what one of the officers should have done instead of head-on engagements) and how he still can make a joke that he's got to quit smoking lol.
