Bro, I’ve been in the car audio game since 1984. If you seen my car audio collection your jaw would drop. It’s enough to open a small store. I have stuff that nobody has. Most of it is rare old-school equipment. I’m not trying to drop any Doodoo bombs on anybody out there. The installer was incredibly passionate and loved doing what he’s doing. You can tell. In all honesty though the installation on both cars were somewhat amateur. I hate to say it but there were a few corners unknowingly cut for sure that a pro installer would never ever do. First off, I didn’t notice a big 3 upgrade on either car. That’s the first thing that has to be done in any car audio install, period. It’s a must and the biggest mistake most people make when installing a system. Those fuses in the Buick should have been weatherproof barrel ANL fuses and they need to be mounted to something. Just laying on the battery is no bueno. You should also have fuses within 3 feet or less of any amplifier No pro installer would ever just lay fuses on a battery like that. You need to look at the amp specs for it’s fuse ratings in the Buick and install the proper fuses. I’m sure they’re the wrong ones. Also, that 1200.1 Fosgate has a waaay overrated fuse. It’s only supposed to have a 120 amp fuse. That 200 amp fuse is doing nothing at all besides closing an otherwise open circuit. Your amp will fry well before the fuse ever blows. And he had the speaker wires wrapped with the power wires. A big no no. That transmits noise to the subs. You most likely will never hear it because the noise is in the higher frequency range but it’s there and aids in heating up a coil that shoukd play cool as possible. If he ran wire that way to an amp for your mids and tweets you’d most likely hear a high pitched whine that gets higher pitched as your car accelerates. There were a couple of other things like no sound dampening and such but I’m not trying to nit pick, just educate. Electrical is the most important part of any car audio install. If you don’t get it right shit gets fucked up. Good luck with it all. Comp Q’s are an outstanding sub. They’ll serve you very well.
I had my install at best buy for 2 12" comp r's. And the fuse by my battery for the sub melted and damaged the wiring. cutting power to the amp and sub. It doesn't sound the same after they replaced the fuse and they didnt change the wire. Kicker claims the installer loosely put the wire in the fuse holder and best buy is denying any wrong doing. I wish there was a legit shop at an affordable price to get a pro install, but it's just a bunch of kids. Reading this comment really supports the fact that the installer didn't do a good job. Anyways, I have no system now and wasted thousands. Still waiting on the new solo x's. Is kicker really the way to go? Would having a better alternator, fuse, wire and battery avoided this issue? Or was a loose connection the only problem you think? I'm sick of cheap Chinese shit. Melted fuses, never even heard of that!

First off those thermals will not melt if you are sending TRUE CLEAN POWER through them. Also should’ve sound deaden, and actually you would want mid bass and mid range out of door speakers which he referred mid as to as ”bass”.
He is sure right with the bass separated it makes the highs sound so much cleaner
Now hit the trunk with some sound deadening... do the complete trunk hit the doors off with some... “KILLMAT” is what I used got it pretty cheap on Amazon...

With a extra battery red cap optima
2 15s will def fit in a 328i just have to have the dimensions

Can the bmw e90 handle the subs grounded to factory battery or do you need a external battery to power subs. I'm curious cuz I bought dual kicker 12 comp r with a 1800rms cxa kicker amp with 1/0 gauge kicker power wires. I'm scared that the alternator and battery can't handle it

@@ayoplayo319 no not exactly. I recently went with dual skar evl 10s instead. They bump hella harder and also take less space and the car can still handle it with stock alt and battery u can use 12s but I recommend velcro and boards

I have no doubt the door panel fell off when you got hacks like this installing shit.. this is a total hack job.. melting insulation to cover a splice? Seriously lol. They make shit for that and the splice covering should be 2x the thickness of the regular insulation for starters.. second my man didn’t even bother to seal the terminal cup. Wonder what other non seaming was done? But the speakers just got screwed in wo sealant. And why bot use a ring terminal cup instead of a $4 plastic pos..

@@edgarrivera1340 You have them wired at 1ohm? I have a Single Q12 on a Prime R2 1200x1 wired @ 2 ohms (birth sheet 986@2ohms) and it was a little too much power.
@@adaboy4z the Qs 12 are 850 watts RMS that’s why your amp it’s to much..my amp gives about 1600 watts at 1ohm and 2 ohms so each of my subs are wired at 2ohms and getting about 800 RMS each
@@edgarrivera1340 I looked up that T-1500 out of curiosity specs says 1000 watts @2 ohms and 1500@1ohm. But I know RF amps are underated! That's why I was thinking it was to much power. 👍

Kicker recommends 1.75 minimum per sub vented. I have one in 2.74 cubic ft tuned at 30hz for the lows.
