Workplace bullies are at another level of toxicity - whatever you say or do will be held against you. If managers are not willing to put a stop to it, the suffering will go on forever.
Hi, Joan. I completely agree that bullying has no place in the workplace or anywhere for that matter. I hope this video was helpful. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers!
Hi Rachel. It really is terrible when it gets so bad that people want to quit their job due to toxic people. Wish those that you know the best of luck. Thanks for watching, and glad you don't need to deal with this. As always thank you for your continued support. Cheers!
Amazing tips. Dealing with toxic coworkers is never fun. I've definitely had some of these issues at past workplaces and I wish I'd had these tips to help me know how to deal with difficult people at work!
Hopefully you were able to handle those past issues with toxic coworkers. It never is fun that’s for sure. Hopefully you never have to deal with that again but if you do then I hope these tips help. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Ugh, toxic coworkers (and people) are the worst! This is why I am so happy I am self-employed. But, when you need to work with them, your tips are honestly mind-saving!
Hi Nadalie. It can definitely make the days at work difficult when you have to deal with toxic coworkers. I know you are self-employed but has there ever been a time that you have worked at a company and have had to deal with toxic situations? Thanks for watching, cheers!
@@AdrianaGirdler thankfully, I've avoided this since I spent a lot of time in grad school, then only worked maybe 2 years before realizing it wasn't for me. Toxic professors? Oh wow, we could talk about that for days.
Hi Clifford, hope you are keeping well! Sometimes it can be hard to set those boundaries but worth it to keep toxic coworkers at bay. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Hi Ted. Thanks for watching and stopping by. Comments like yours really put a smile on my face knowing that I am helping others! Hope you have a wonderful day, cheers!
As an office manager I asked the coworker/employe if we needed to talk. She responded that it had to do with personal at home. I then said leave home at home. She was being very rude and short. The next day she walks in as if her behavior was ok. She acts as if every one owes her and the more you tell her not to do something the more she does it. Not to mention always late. 🤷🏼♀️
As a manager I am sure this is difficult for you to deal with, including the impact it has on the rest of the staff. At my office I have a sign on the door that reminds all of us to leave issues at the door before entering the office that will have a negative impact on the rest of the team. It’s something we all respect, because we all respect each other. I hope that at some point this employee changes her tune. Thanks for watching and for sharing. Cheers!
@@rachelgalvan7646 why don’t you escalate the situation and get this person fired? You are acting as the manager in my work place who is terrified of a bully in our team 🤷🏻♀️ dont do that - you might have the power to make lots of other people’s lives and your own easier by just eliminating this person
@@JustMe-ob3nw Believe me if it was up to me, she would’ve been gone along time ago. It may have to be me that has to move on, it’s just a toxic environment all the way around. I have gone to the main boss several times, she just has an excuse for the bad behavior every time I go to her. 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks, Simona. Sorry to hear that you have had to deal with this in the past. How did you handle the situation? As always, thanks for watching. Cheers!
It's happened to me in several workplaces and it has mainly taken the form of female coworkers/ work 'friends' trying to isolate me or try and embarrass me in front of others. I now realise that yes, these are hurt people who are miserable but being an empathetic people pleaser hasn't helped so I know I need to work on myself too, on my confidence (what has been left of it) after someone who I thought was a workplace 'friend' could finally act on her feelings of resentment towards me when she became my manager. I now know after all these years, I need to stay away from miserable gossipy people and choose the coworkers I want to be around wisely and move on if I have manager like that.
@AdrianaGirdler Could you please suggest advice if it's your manager who is behaving like this, it's harder to avoid a manager who insists on venting to you, gossiping and complaining about colleagues to you and as I couldn't find another job for 6 months, I felt I had no choice but to put up with it and it seriously dented my confidence and self esteem.
I work with a toxic insulting nurse. She let her house go into foreclosure, so I think she feels powerless. She can turn anything into a power struggle. We work in silence so we don’t have to deal with her comments. The doctors quietly agree with us and thank us for dealing with her, but do nothing to hasten her retirement.
toxic coworkers are draining and they consume a lot of time if we don't set boundaries around them - and even then, it is not always easy to keep those boundaries.
Ha! I used to hang a sign on the back of my seat because we worked in a cubicle office - no official walls - and it worked really well as people would see it and just keep moving! So for those who don't have an office with a door - put a sign on your chair that you are doing focused work :)
Hi Tammy! Thanks for sharing that great idea! Doing things like these is a not only a great way to stay focused since there are fewer interruptions but helps to deter a toxic coworker from striking up an unfavorable conversation. Thanks for watching, cheers!
The problem here is that you didn't define (Toxic co workers) Unfortunately the internet is flooded with this word and the results are that employees and social media is tagging people with labels without even truly knowing the definition or true characteristic of a Toxic person. It's very sad to see that coaches are also to blame for this phenomenon.
The toxic coworker I have, if I explain to her what is bothering me, she says I'm attacking her. Then repeats what I have shared back at me to gaslight me into thinking she's not being toxic. So I'm going to not have any conversation with her about what I notice she's doing. I just pretend like I have no idea what she's talking about. I also when she says I know you said you wanted x I turn it back on her. I don't care. If you want to do x, then go ahead and do it. If you want me to do x, then I'll do it. Then she said, well I don't want to do x, because of y. But in the future I think I'll just shrug and walk away.
I'm dealing with some toxic co-workers and staff at work and they're not doing what they're supposed to do. Not all of them but some of them, I'm dealing with.
Hi, James. I am sorry to hear you are having a problem with a toxic project manager. Not knowing the extent of the toxicity it's hard for me to give you concrete advice, however if it's a case of annoyance, having a calm professional conversation with the individual may help to solve your frustrations. If the behavior is having a negative impact on your mental well being then a conversation with someone higher up may be needed. Wishing you all the best, cheers.
I am curious what you see in the workplace? What toxic behaviors are keeping you from getting your work done? I loved her suggestion to thank people for noticing a bad day and then setting a boundary to request that you just have time to work through it alone

Person just has really bad psychological problems if you need to bully someone 😢😢
I have no compassion for a toxic coworker. They know what they’re doing.
Very informative. 👍🏻
1. Set border;
2. Avoidance at all cost;
3. Don’t share personal information;
4. Have a conversation; &
5. Avoid complaining.
