    1. Rude
    2. They take credit for your work
    3. Too emotional (extremes of emotion making you walk on egg shells) (manipulation using emotion)
    4. Don’t or won’t listen. (Prevents sharing of concepts or ideas)
    5. They are never wrong.

    Nothing makes me hate teamwork more than the toxic team member. Even more so than the lazy people who just show up to take credit. Thanks for helping us spot the signs.

      Thanks for watching, Nadalie. I’m sure you aren’t the only one that has felt this way about teamwork and the toxic team member. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season. Cheers!

    Yeah I had a coworker like that. Rude in back handed remarks. I didn’t realize until I finally left. I thought I was toxic since I was emotional or didn’t listen but I mean the things they would say would later be used as ammunition and never admit they are wrong. I would go home stressed and even my bones started to hurt. I’m glad I left.

    Thanks for pointing out these signs of toxic team members. Its true that it only takes one toxic team member to derail a team or project if the situation is not addressed.

    Thank you Adriana for touching on communication as a way to deal with difficult team members!👏 If you are noticing this behaviour with anyone on your team, it’s best that they receive feedback early in hopes to nip it in the bud before it gets too out of hand. You want to give them adequate time to fix an issue before escalating to upper management.

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  2 года назад

      Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more! Noticing things sooner than later is key to sorting
      things out before they escalate. It would also ensure that a breakdown with the team doesn’t occur. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best for 2022. Cheers!

    I worked in a toxic job and there was this newby hire that kept admonishing on how I was doing my job when I had worked there for four years. Eventually he became a banquet server and quit or got terminated.

    Ill give another example, cause its wrongly pointed out. If you remove the "toxic" team member, do you still have a team? If no, then you are probably the problem, and not the toxic team member.,

    what if you did nothing physically / verbally to anyone and they STILL seem to walk on eggshells around you?
    I’ve gotten compliments from higher ups and managers and many co workers on a different team . I don’t really communicate with my direct team due to them being rude and funny acting people when I first started . I don’t speak to them or build relationships pass the cordial surface convo or brief work related convo . I want us to get to a place where we all can smile and say hi to each other but on another i don’t like pple who don’t have manners or the basic levels of professionalism or human decency. It’s so many times i haven’t been acknowledged when i said hi and more stories i cld get into. RATHER they do this mess on purpose or are unaware none are good excuses in my book. I’m really struggling and don’t know how to tackle this bc i have a hard time faking …

      Start out with connections that you already know, that is how I started out. Networking is also super import, so do lots of that. You can join networking groups including those on LinkedIn. Finding a Mentor is also another good place to start. Here is the link to that video which also touches on networking ruclips.net/video/SItt_8r6j1s/видео.html
      I will have a video about this topic coming out in 2022 so stay tuned! Cheers!
