I absolutely love the concept of working your body from the ground up to really lock in your posture. Something about that just makes so much sense I can't believe it's not taught in school.
Even if you don’t go fully into it from the beginning, look into physical therapy exercises that address imbalances like he said. As someone who started ballet at 18 and has used it primarily as physical therapy - this man absolutely gets it. Please be kind to yourself and don’t shame yourself by using “lazy” - there are lots of reasons why things feel inaccessible or insurmountable even if we reason that they are not; it’s more helpful for us to be honest with ourselves and what we feel capable of doing and then build on that. Even if you can’t afford to go to a gym, there is a wealth of knowledge on physical therapy stuff on YT and you can always start out easy with body weight/resistance. I found it easier to commit to doing 15 minutes of exercises a day 2x a day in my pajamas consistently in my bedroom (once when waking up, once when going to bed) for months and maintaining the habit at 39 rather than trying to fit a workout routine I had to drive to either before or after work. Sometimes I’ll miss a day or two but it’s never felt so bad that I felt intimidated getting back to it after breaking a streak. We learn best and do best when we recognize our own humanity and can be kind and supportive towards ourselves
Performance training is really all I do I'll do "bodybuilding" accessories but for injury prevention and drill work is underrated don't see lots of ppl doing them even tho they bullet proof you. On top of that it's makes me feel and look good rather than just bodybuilding or powerlifting strictly

55 and just found Ben Patrick and ATG 3 weeks ago. Acl surgery when I was 20 arthritis in my knee kept me struggling. Drs wanted a knee replacement luckily my stubbornness said NO! Ran marathons etc but had to stop in my 40s because of knee pain. Sitting and standing and walking was a nightmare. Now just two weeks into your training and I’m getting amazing relief. I did the ATG program for over a year a while back. I did Zero, Dense and Standards. My legs were seriously transformed. Had a kid and didn’t have much time for the gym but I just started back up at dense and am so glad for your workouts. God bless you and everything you do. Keep shining ☀️

I train from the ground up myself but I don't use any machines. Just clubs, maces, Kettlebells, landmine, ViPRs, resistance bands, dumbbells, cable machines, sandbags, aquabags and body weight At 59 I smoke young dudes in the gym regularly. He's on POINT. Function beats aesthetics ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Besides, aesthetics are diet more than anything else. So why not train to be MORE athletic?
His workouts are what I call functional workouts. His movements are the same movements he would do on a basketball court. I am 45 also and my workouts are similar to keep me from getting hurt
That lying cable crunch is such a good movement for those that spend a lot of time sitting. It's shown me the most real-world gains if I'm being honest.
