This is an awesome video which I keep turning to when I find myself setting up or resetting my range extender or someone else's. My one complaint is with the music. IT'S TOO LOUD!
100% agree. I'm trying to set it up but that music makes it difficult.

really helped, i’ve always had connection difficulties. but thanks to the tp link extender i’m able to connect via ethernet to play my games with fast internet conections

Why did you put on music to this? I want to hear your good explanation, which is hardly to understand.
Can you place more than one of these units on the same network? Say with the router in the center and range extenders on either side of it? Wall away from the base router?
Yes, you can use 2 extenders with a few caveats. Performance for the second extender will usually be unsatisfactory. Therefore, each extender should connect to the main router.
I get a weak wifi security on my iPhone when I connect to this extender. Is there any fix to that?

I really wish that I could have my own PW for the extender. Every time I need to connect to a different WiFi (daily when my boat is cruising), I must change the PW on all of the SEVEN devices which are connecting via the TP-extender. Can you PLEASE offer a software update which would permit a local PW to go with the Extender's name?
sir, i feeling a big problem. suddently i deleted my mobile setting when connected wifi , after some secound disconnect wifi. and not connect wifi connection on my mobile, when dhcp is static ip then again connect wifi but no internet. i reset my router but wifi connect but no internet.again again try, but no internet. please give me a solution

Got the impression I could use the ethernet port to connect to a splitter, and THEN have the unit broadcast the wifi signal to have a more stable network connection at 2.4gHz . Sadly seems I was misled -_-

It didn’t work for me . The internet still very slow
Didn't work for me using the 3rd method the first time. But the second time I did not press the WPS button on the router for too long, just a quick tap, and it worked for the 4G... Did it again, just tapping the WPS on the router very quickly, and the 5G light came on as well.
When it did not work for me, I was pressing the WPS button for too long, instead of just tapping it.

Slow internet and strong signal are 2 very different things.

You have to know what you're doing, and not be a complete imbecile, but it works great.

After the extender is set up, can the original wifi networks be hidden, or will they still need to remain visible

Recently bought an re650 model. Works fine for a while then I suddenly have no internet even though it's still connected to the modem. Works again for a while after I cycle power and then conks out. Pretty frustrating. Probably going to return it
Would the range extender work if I do not flip up the antenna like V shape, I mean flip down like hands beside the body ? Would plugging into a socket extension that has like 4 sockets work? Thanks
Why do you change the SSID losing the roaming capabilities of the client?
I was thinking the same thing, why would you want SSID’s listed as extended. I wouls keep the same so you can roam the house and it jumps between router and extender automatically
Does this only work with a TP-Link router , or can you use any brand ?

Total waste of time. This device would not connect via the app (worthless) , WPS button or via internet. If you would like to waste more time, try to connect to TP-link's customer service.

For some reason the middle line for the 5Ghz isnt lit. it was lit for some time but now it isnt even after i replugged it it doesnt light up

Your signal strength will go up and you can do a speed test online
yea trying to set this up has been a nightmare. I've tried both online and their tethering app. Every time the extender appears I can't connect to it, get booted from it when I reach the end of set up, or it disappears from the accessible wifi list. Its been very annoying

@@neek2117 Unfortunately no. I couldn’t find a solution or figure it out myself. I ended up just buying my network providers(ATT) extender
You don't get "booted" from it. Once you add your network ssid's and passwords, it is now part of your network. Initially, the unit broadcasts its own wifi, which you connect to ONLY to change it to yours, to which afterwards, you won't connect to it again.
Everything's seems to be working, but my Globe in my app is Red. Is it meant to be Red? I have the check marks and things are connected and working, so just confused...

I can't connect my laptop, phones work fine. When I try to connect with my laptop it asks for an 8 character PIN. My network password is 10 characters long, but only allows me to type 8 in.

Not a single reply from this company to all the requests, very poor customer service and if you have a problem then forget about getting this to work. The unit will not take my password at all and is not working, sending it back to amazon for a refund. Will be using a company with proper support.

SSx700 it should I have RE500 it was setup up in my garage where I didn’t have any WiFi signal now I have full bars in my garage , and every time I walk in my garage it automatically switch , very good product works great 👍 with my RING floodlight cam

Only during setup, then you MOVE it to a weak zone afterwards.

Absolutely would not work for me. Could never get my phone or laptop to connect to the extender. Returning the product. Waste of time.
