- My wifi signal from the house can surprisingly reach the detached garage, but it only works in one small area. So I'm adding a TP-Link range extender in hopes to be able to use the interwebs anywhere in the garage.

I was interested in the wifi extender. I have a situation just like yours. My shop is in the garage and my current extender is intermittent. Worked for quite a while but now it's on and off. Thanks for the video. Your other stuff is cool also! :)

This is not the proper approach to set up the extender. Furthermore, most routers lack a WPS button; what then? How would you know where to keep the extender to ensure proper speed and strong signals from the main router? Even I was confused at first, but now I understand how to correctly set it up.

Did you have a different name to click onto on your Wi-Fi choices? Or it just simply extended your normal Wi-Fi with same name?
I basically have 2 different wifi options - the normal one and then one with the same name but EXT after it for the garage. I switch back and forth between them
Could of just moved your router to first floor. Elementary the cement wall

So far so good. I noticed the extended internet can be a bit slow at times but it hasn't really been a problem
