This song saved my life in the literal sense. I had just about the same interpretation you had, it really is about giving all “Broken Bells”hope again. It’s been a few years now since I became a full fan but this was the second song I’d ever heard from them. I only vaguely remember listening to their break out hit “ highway tune” and really enjoying it but never exploring further. Fast forward to years later I’m laying in the dark alone in my room probably the lowest I’ve ever been and the closest to doing something stupid I wouldn’t have been alive to regret later and this song just pops up on my RUclips recommends and changes the entire day for me. I spent I don’t even know how long repeating it until I fell asleep. I’m going to see them Wednesday and that would never have been possible if I hadn’t rediscovered the band and found hope in one song.
This was your first time listening to GVF? Oh man are you in for one wild ride my friend. ANYTHING they do is amazing but my favourites are ALL of the candlelight sessions, live at the Red Rocks(Age of Man and Flower Power especially) and Anthem.

I am begging you to react to more gvf!! If you don't like long guitar solos I promise you Jake will change your mind! The album that this is from The Battle At Gardens Gate is so so beautiful.
Maybe "Weight of Dreams" will change your opinion about extended guitar solos. The solo is longer than most songs, yet never gets old.

I'm stunned that you've never heard of the greatest rock band to come along in decades! Been a die hard fan of GVF since 2017 and have seen them live 4 times...GO SEE THEM LIVE! I'm old school 58 yrs old, and know a great rock band when I hear them. Good reaction and interpretation on the lyrics of this beautiful EPIC song!👍👍🤘
