I wish I found this video last week. I have to re plumb a difficult connection in my hot tub. I now know what I did wrong to cause it to still have a minor leak. Thanks for posting!
Love the video...very informative...I could be wrong, but I was always told that the primer cleans, but it also slightly softens the pvc, so it forms a better bond. If that is not the case, let me know so I don't tell anyone else false info. Thanks for the awesome videos!!
I got a question for you a drain pipe from a bathtub or a toilet underneath it’s where the 3 inch pipe is horizontal connects to the larger slip and fitting it was never glued so it’s in there loose but it’s in there you can’t take it out and send it primary glue it and I just tried blue hot glue and then compressing it in and it’s not holding worth a damn and it’s obviously wet inside because it’s a drain pipe at this point I feel like super gluing it and holding it together would work the best what do you think
I had never missed with wiping it off for over 20 years of construction then one Of the businesses I owned Was a pool and spa company , Well one year during training they were trying to show us the proper way to plum an In ground pool that's going to have concrete slabs over it So you never want the plumbing to leak for the life of the pool I started to ignore that section of the training because I had been doing plumbing so many years and I heard this younger cocky guy saying I bet everyone of you old timers do it wrong. I immediately perked up and started listening so that I could school that whipper snapper lol. Right before our eyes he allowed everybody to challenge him and try to glue a joint Of pipe anyway we wanted and then it would go into a machine that was going to see how much force it took to pry it apart. Every one of us in that room left the excess glue on the Joint just like I had done my entire life. Everyone of our glue jobs Failed With only a 4th of the pressure Used for his glue joint to fail. The only thing he did differently was wiping off the extra glue. The science behind it evidently is the extra glob of glue outside of the seam never allows that internal chemical bond to completely set up because it's like a Moisture barrier trapping in moisture so the glue never cures. From that day forward I began wiping off access of glue on every job I did whether it was in a camper or a household sync I always wipe off the XS glue now
Best instructions ever, Thanks!
Thank you for making this simple! My husband is outta town and I’m confident in myself now to get this leak taken care of 💪🏽

The step you forget is to put glue in the fitting 😮
Good video dude, thank you
A 6000 gal/minute sump pump. What would you suggest?
