@@ivanmajetic6155 Yeah, and it'll be an Audi trash bin.
That team cant even do pitstops properly, but when they shift to Audi, this could be worth a gamble, but a risky gamble for Sainz. Who knows if they pull a Mercedes 2014.

IF. Fernando goes to Red Bull. Time to spend my life's savings to watch a race live.
Going to Red Bull makes the most sense from RB perspective and from Carlos perspective.
Exactly.
I disagree. They’ve already had problems with their two dads as well as the fact that Max and Carlos preferences are extremely different. Even if Carlos is adaptable, I still think that he will struggle with such an extreme car and it’s better if he lays the foundation of a team around him. I’d like to see him at Ashton and Fernando to Mercedes
@@Snazzy16Go to Aston and struggle for a top5 finish? At least at RB he'd fight for Wins and Podiums.
@@bored_grape I disagree again. I think he would want to state himself as a number 1 driver. And again I think he’ll struggle with a hugely oversteery car. Ashton Martin I think could improve and it would be best to state himself as number 1 and build a team around him like lando, George, Charles, or max

He was #1 at mclaren...
Idk but he IS getting a seat. This man is too talented to not be driving for a top team. He'd be my #1 choice honestly. Proven he can switch teams and perform (torro rosso to renault, to mclaren and then ferrari). He's experienced and commited, but still young and talented enough to actually win races. I've always like Carlos, but he's easily becoming one of my favorite drivers and im not even a ferrari fan.
Also props to Tommy wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins sweater
If he goes to a mid table team it would be disrespectful
How would it be disrespectful? Do you think kicking someone else out of their seat is disrespectful to whoever it will be? If Red Bull, will that be disrespect to Perez? Of course not. This is a business and all the drivers know this. I think Sainz is a good driver, a little above average for an F1 driver but pretty close to average. The statistics don't lie! That being said, I really like Sainz and hope he does get a seat for 2025. I personally think Sainz and Bearman may go to HAAS.

It is his first year. Give him chance.
Kimi Antonelli needs to show something in F2. "I move up the rankings only if people in front of me crash" isn't proving anything to anyone.

Based on this video, there's like a 300% chance that Sainz is on the grid next year. Probbably gonna be driving for multiple teams!

I'd love to see him at RedBull personally, feels like a nice story coming full circle. But Mercedes probably makes the most sense.
I think the right move is Sainz to Red Bull, Alonso to Mercedes. But it'll probably be the other way around. Either way, silly season is going to go hard this year.
I don't understand why there seems to be an assumption that Audi is going to be decent in 2026. Frankly, it seems like nothing is known except for the fact that it'll be a combined works team with an in-house engine. Will that engine be any good? Does the rest of the project show any promise? I think that no one really knows. And Carlos can't just put his all his eggs in an unclear basket - especially after proving how valuable his eggs really are.
Nothing against them but Audi is giving me major Toyota vibes. All the top brains (and most of the top drivers) in F1 are locked up with other teams so unless they have some genius aerodynamic people from WEC that can outdesign the best in F1 there is going to be a long learning curve.
No disrespect, I like Sainz as well but he is a little above average if not just an average F1 driver. Before anyone gets upset, I mean that I think he is about the 7th or 8th best driver on the grid. In my opinion, Max, Hamilton, Leclerc, lando, Russell and Alonso are better than Sainz making him a little above average which is still great. I think Sainz and Gasly are about equal skill wise. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sainz and Bearman at HAAS next year unless their is a contract that won't allow this to happen. Nevertheless, I would LOVE to see Sainz win the championship this year. Hopefully Ferrari can make some improvements quickly to allow them to challenge Red Bull but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Have a good day everyone.
Thanks, I couldn't agree more. 2036 is going to shake things up considerably. Yes, Audi have money, and experience, but there's a limit to what they can spend with the cost and capex caps. If we were compare to Aston, who are similar imo as it was a struggling team (Force India) bought by a rich backer with big ambitions, Aston are (i) several years ahead on the investment front, (ii) have a proven winning engine manufacturer joining as works partner and (iii) already have poached a load of top engineers to work in their UK based operation that makes further recruitment much easier than it's going to be for a team in Switzerland.
they aren't going to be on the grid in 2026. there will be an announcement halfway through 2025 that Audi will not enter F1 and it will be because looked around and said wait a minute it's going to cost how much every year to run this thing? and we're just gonna run around at the back for any realistically foreseeable future?? why are we doing this again???? and poof they're going to Keyser Soze everybody
Hoping for Sainz in Redbull
What I love about this is that Carlos keeps being this perfect yard stick to judge other drivers. So yeh put him next to GR or MV and we get to compare them to CL and LN 😊
I think a lot of teams will use 2025 as a "get to know the team" kind of year before the regulation changes in 2026.
Its perfect to put a new guy in the seat in 2025 so that they can get used to the team, how they work and get all the kinks out so you don't have to deal with that in 2026 on top of a new car as well.
One thing we should take into account is that there maybe just weren't that many exciting prospects for RB's Checo seat last year. Like, maybe there was an option there with Yuki, and getting Lawson in there, but Checo ended up doing well enough that it really wasn't worth the stir. Carlos, however, is probably the best free agent since... I don't even know. RB is crazy if they don't jump at the chance imo.
My predicted changes if things keep going how they're going:
Checo is out, replaced by Carlos. Lewis obviously goes to Ferrari, but his seat ar Merc is filled by - wildcard! - Alex Albon. Antonelli will take the Russell route, trying out at Williams before Merc tries to move him up. Sargeant miiight be out - Williams would then take someone like Checo (if he's eager to stay in F1), to balance out Antonelli's inexperience. Final change is at the Racing Bulls, at this rate it's unreasonable to leave Danny Ric in the seat when you've got Lawson waiting in the wings.
I think Red Bull is the most likely. Red Bull need a driver more competitive than Perez to be there to get the win when max isn’t. Checo should have got a podium at least last weekend when max DNF’d. Sainz would be there to pick up the points consistently and help Red Bull stay ahead even if the other teams close the gap.
Imo it's not very likely. Verstappen sr. and Sainz sr. do not get along very well and I doubt redbull would want a driver to challenge Max.
Also don't see a reason to let Perez go
@@Leon-jx8wc Yup. There was too much drama between the old men last time they were both on the same team.
@tttimok I agree completely also because the stakes are raised next year.
Red Bull will be competing against a Lewis/Charles team and a Lando/Oscar team.
I’d be really surprised if Christian/Helmut aren’t looking at Melbourne results and thinking Carlos would be a better driver for them for next years rivalry?
Checo has done them proud but next year, not so sure he can keep up, he may even let them down this year.
if they were going to get rid of checo they would've done it already, especially after supposedly crashing in monaco quali on purpose.
Checo will stay another year, I expect Lawson to have his proper debut at RB he will impress and get called up to replace Checo in 2026.
Carlos has been in 4 different teams in F1 since 2015 and has won 3 races!
All with Ferrari

Carlos is so charismatic. He gets underrated. Glad to see him getting more widely recognized recently.
Always have to worry about people who say that the car is developed around the driver. They develop a car that is as fast as possible in both corners and straights. During the race everyone uses their own setup.

I think that red bull is going to approach sainz as perez is not securing those points when max isnt dominating the race. So it seems like a valid option that red bull would want to get a reliable driver who could show up when max is off weather (which is highly unlikely) and can also challenge max frequently.
But is Sainz gonna accept p2?
Sainz should go to Red Bull. Back with his old teammate and in a great car
Reading out promo material is beautiful. You go guys!!
I see Carlos driving the RB21 for '25, either filling in for Checo or the departed Max. But I lean more towards the possibility of Checo not getting a renewal, since for Max to depart from RBR will rely heavily on the escalation of the RBR higher-ups' internal conflict.
I think one thing Matt doesn't want to hear... but if Sainz has a season with 3-4+ race wins and is clear of Leclerc by some number (let's say 100) of points, and Leclerc has 0 wins all season, Leclerc will lose his seat with Hamilton coming in and either be reserve or have his contract bought out.
I think there is a realistic chance of this than Carlos going to Red bull
(Ferrari) Leclerc could have a problem, if Sainz end ahead of him this seasone and if Hamilton also end ahead, for just a few points, Leclerc is finished.
Really? Sounds far fetched
I could see Sainz spending a year or two at Mercedes before going to Audi when Antonelli comes up. That way he gets a decent team until the new regs and Mercedes get someone who could move on when needed.
I could see Mercedes wanting Alonso for that time period. Sainz to Aston seems like the better landing spot if he doesn’t got to Red Bull. Forget Sauber that’s a dumpster fire.
You guys should have rated the possible teams by percentages adding up to 100 in the end, would be better than randomly giving a lot of chances to every them, that way both of you would have a clear winner.
If he comes to Redbull and can compete with Max that will be real Redemption.. DTS will go crazy..
Sainz and Russel are both "that will do" set up drivers and could complement each other.
For merc quick fix, i think its more possible to be alonso. At most he'll got 3-4 years left (quite sad but yeah). On that time frame merc could improve its car and to settle on the new regulations with an input of junior driver like alonso, and to prepare the replacement. It'll be like when they first start f1with the help of schumacher to get an input from an experienced driver that sainz for now lacks compared to alonso.
The return of the Tommy's Pittsburgh Penguins sweatshirt! Unfortunatly the team is doing as well as Alpine at the moment.

Mercedies and Red Bull are the most likely options. Aston are also a distinct possibility depending on what Alonso does and what they can convince him about their future development prospects

This should be the top comment.
On a side note maybe we shouldn't be hyping up the 2026 regulations. The power unit development will still be limited, the fuel allowance is going down and the electrical system is the same configuration for everyone so aerodynamics will still be of primary importance meaning that the chance of Audi for example coming in with an overpowered engine and out drag racing the field is basically 0. There is also very little chance that Ferrari and Red Bull and Mercedes are all going to get the aero concept wrong while simultaneously Williams or Haas are going to come up with an exploit that has them winning races.
The 2026 regs, especially from the PU side, are going to absolutely ruin F1 and no one is talking about it. Probably because most F1 fans and commentators don’t understand the engineering side in the slightest therefore are blind to the blatant issues that are bound to arise.
@@-._.-._.-Sully-._.-._.- I agree. When you read through the regs, which I recommend everyone do, it's basically less fuel (70 kg instead of 100 kg), less energy recovery and the same battery capacity with no ability to develop the motor or battery technology at all. The electric motor is much bigger at 350 KW so that the media can say "1,000 HP" but that amount of power is only available for a maximum of 10s per lap. 90% of the race they will have 450-500 HP available at most. Lower power cars could be fun (if they were smaller and lighter) but not with $100 M of aerodynamics on them.
@@fallenshallrise yeah most people just listen to the bullet points F1 puts out to make the regs not sound as bad as they are. The significant reduction of average hp output and increase in weight is despicable for the “pinnacle of motorsport”. I’ve typed whole essays on the specifics of the regs and why they won’t work on YT videos covering the topic only for people to say “oh you must be a Redbull fan and are just scared bc you’re behind in the PU development” despite me being a Mercedes fan who are supposedly* the furthest ahead.

interesting thoughts and contemplations. one of mine is re Red Bull, more than 1 scenario. 1) Max leaving for Mercedes, then immediate signing of Sainz and teaming up with Sergio Pérez if Sergio is in the mix (his results, his possible retirement or switch provided..) and 2) Max staying at Red Bull and Sergio not in retirement and delivering what is required: unchanged line up.

I hope he goes to Aston Martin, either to replace Alonso or to pair him. Also, Papa Stroll has huge expectations of that team and they've been signing some really key staff members from the likes of Red Bull. I've heard he's moving to Prema and INDYCar. 😊
“Sergio has had a very good start to the year.” Has he? He has done the bare minimum.
I actually think Aston Martin might be more likely than people think.
Toto is waiting for Max, he is bringing it up in almost every interview now. AMUS also published an article about it today, Marko and the Austrian side have apparently lost the 'fight' against Horner and Max going to Merc is becoming more likely by the day.
German media are also reporting that, because of that, Briatore (Alonsos manager) is now heavily focusing on Red Bull and it is said that the talks about Alonso joining Red Bull are already in an 'advanced' stage.
With this situation i think the only viable options left for Sainz are the second seat in Red Bull (=Perez' seat) and Aston Martin. And I don't know if Red bull can risk changing both drivers at once...
Also AMUS wrote that Audi is pressuring Sainz and demanding a decision by mid-april. I don't think Sainz is ready to decide that early.
That into hurt my head
I’d love nothing more than to see Sainz do a Rosberg against Max in the Red Bull
Going back to Red Bull would be stupid and will end quite bad. Unless max leaves.
If Aston already completed their WEC entry car, Lawrence could give that seat to Lance. It would open up the F1 seat perfectly. 😁

I still say the only move that makes sense is for Sainz to go to Merc. Just do a straight swap Hamilton for Sainz because he is too good a driver to just put into a mid pack car. Talking of putting Antanello (sorry don't know how you spell his name) straight into the Merc, they could but I personally wouldn't. To me he has to, if you pardon the pun, earn his wings before he goes in the Mercedes. Maybe slot him into the Aston when Alonso decides it is time to go. You need a proven driver in the Mercedes for 2026 and the new regs and to have a rookie and a driver who is still finding his feet to be a number one driver, which is what Merc will be if it is Russell and Antanello, would be a bad move. Russell still makes too many mistakes at the moment for me. So if you have Sainz and Russell in Merc for at least 2025 and 2026 and they get the car back at the front or near the front with the 2026 regs, Merc COULD be hard to beat again.
I have a feeling that Kimi Antonelli will get the seat at Mercedes, mostly because since Mercedes is bad in this regulations, they will for sure scrap 2025 and it would be perfect to put Antonelli in the seat with no pressure.
Most likely RB will renew Perez contract and Sainz only option will be Sauber/Stake/Audi.
Sadly there won't be space for him in any top team.
That's my gut feeling.
I think most people want carlos in RB for just the utter chaos it would be to see Jos and Sainz sr in the same garage
I think McLaren could be not bad choice amd I am not sure that team will stay with that drivers for a long time, so could be any changes
For Mercedes, Sainz won't go for a short term ending deal unless he wants to wait out Audi, for Merc though Alonso is probably their best fit.
Red Bull, like Matt said, depends on Perez and stability, Sainz is for sure the better driver and Red Bull probably the best option for Sainz.
Aston Martin, I can see this happen. If Alsonso does move to Mercedes, I think Sainz is high on papa Strolls list.
Ribeye F1 is a or two early, before he's gonna risk it with Audi he should wait and see.
Any other option is less I think.
So with his value high now after a win, I would try to get that Red Bull seat, before Perez continues doing well. And if not that, the Aston/Mercedes split option.
i see ferrari trying to get max to replace ferrari and create a new senna prost situation.
especially with max manager being seen at maranello.
could be that he was there for a other driver.
aston martin makes the most sense to me at the moment
audi arent doing much or atleast they arent showing much to attract, red bull seems attractive now but theyve got young drivers as well, at mercedes toto doesnt want to loose another young guy
For me the best choice for Carlos would be to take Lance Strolls seat at Aston Martin, partnering with Alonso until Carlos retires in a decade and Alonso keeps racing with a new generation, Mercedes would be a decent second choice I actually think that would maybe prove to be the undoing of George, Mercedes would be short lived if Carlos is only on-par with George but if he beats him then that may be a different story. Stake is too volatile certainly not for next year. RB isn't likely to happen but I do think that if it did Carlos would be the closest teammate Max has ever had (again). I think head to head Max has the edge but with someone breathing down his neck and able to manage the tires while still being rapid It would be a fight and I wouldn't be surprised if Carlos picked up a Rosberg-esq championship. There are no other realistic viable options, RB, Williams & Haas are too much of a step down, Ferrari & Mclaren are off the table and I wouldn't wish Alpine on my worst enemy.
This puzzle will be solved depending upon the AMR24's performance in second half of season.
If Aston becomes promising, line up would be
RB: Max- Checo
SF: Lec-Ham
Merc: Rus-Sainz
Aston: Alo-Stroll
If Aston brings a John Deere tractor. Alonso's manager Flavio will push Carlos and his dad's lobbying aside to set a deal with Toto for 2 years maximum. Alonso's only hope to RBR is Horner. But as it appears to be, horner won't survive in the face of Max, Marko and other investor. A lot of dilemma will be cleared if one of the drivers out of Alonso and Sainz underperforms or outperforms their respective cars. Pressure is more on Carlos because his car is much better so he's expected to finish the season in atleast Top 3 ahead of either Charles or Perez.
It's a dilemma: On the one hand I'd love to see Sainz go to Red Bull, because of his talent but even more so because of his history with Toro Rosso. On the other hand I'm scared of what Red Bull could do to Sainz. He shouldn't become another Kvyat, Gasly, Albon, Perez. He's too gifted to end up as a B driver (again).
haven't watched the video yet, but I like the thumbnail's implication that we could get triple carlos next year
Pittsburgh Penguins baby hell yeah love the pullover
Who will be driving where next season, is literally the most exciting thing about this season
Literally thought I was having a stroke for the first 5 seconds
On the Sainz move there are so many options for him to go to. These are my 4 contenders in order of likelihood.
AMR:8/10
This is where I think he'll go. Either cause of Fernando leaving or Stroll finally getting dropped. I controversial think the latter will happen. Sainz was made for the Aston seat and could definitely lead the line for them.
Merc:6/10
This could happen buut here's the problem. Imo if Sainz gets tht Merc seat Mercedes will have to pick between Antonelli and Russel cause I think they'll think like us and say Carlos is to good to be there 1 or 2 yrs then go. He's definitely a long term option. I don't think Merc will want to pick and chose so they don't go for Carlos.
RB:5/10
I honestly dont see it. I think the only way this happens is if all there candidates in tht VCARB car underperform. I think Sainz is the next option after Tsunoda. Tbf can't forget Sainz will minimum be going into a car thts at least capable of the occasional win but will probably be a title contender.
Sauber: 4/10
At the start of the season this woulda been like a 7 but after there start to this season, na I don't see it. Yep I think tht RB move is more likely then this purely off there start to the season. I don't think it's worth it to be a backmarker for 1 season for a project we know nothing about. A massive risk especially considering how bad Sauber are. Not worth it.
No Drive:2/10
Very possible but I don't see it. It would be him more not getting a drive rather then him taking a break.
Wht do u guys think 👇😅
Feel like daddy stroll won’t think Carlos is flashy enough for his team. I think he gets a 2 yr deal at Red Bull or maybe Merc.
Has there ever been a team who signed a new driver to replace another driver and then regretted some months later and signed the old driver back?
Imagine Ferrari do this
no because thats dumb. People who think they regret it are also dumb and coping for carlos. He's just performing right now coz he doesnt have a seat next year and wants to sell himself.
