I like ardiis, I like his ego and toxicity, it makes for a great villain story. This game was so fun to watch and part of it was cheering for BLG to win so that they could shut ardiis up. It made for a great viewing experience and I hope that if NRG drops ardiis he finds a new home in tier 1 either in europe or NA. It'd be sick if they bring yay back to NRG, that is all I want for christmas.

Pat pat NRG is a team that takes losses very seriously, they will surely be back next year in a much better form. Overall, their year wasn't that bad for NRG, and yes they didn't win anything but they did place quite high very consistently bar this event. They didn't deserve to win this match for their under preparation, but I'm sure they'll learn a valuable lesson and be back in form :)
I am going to say it now the reason nrg lost was bcs blg did some stupid plays which no one was expecting and they play like just ranked games where you get surprised like they didnt close the door in first round instead pushed smokes and the other reason was ardis, no hate to him but I feel like he is a good rifle player and mid awp player his reaction time with awp is very slow and he missed crucial timings and missed shots in ascent and bind map both which costed NRG a economy blow as awp is costly and they lost rounds which they were supposed to win.
@@ManjotSingh-yc1te no, NRG were just the worse team in practically every area during those games, individually BLG looked better, midround reactions they looked better, the only thing they were arguably worse at was initial plans going into round but i think by the end of the game they were looking better at that aswell. pushing the tree smoke there isnt a dumb play lmao, its literally a calculated risk because they are down 4v5 and need to make a play.

@@neilcicerega4326 pleaaaase... i dislike ardiis as much as the next guy but lets not act like he's the only weak link in NRG. aside from crashies, everyone has varying levels of performance. victor goes from topfragging from one map to totally bottoming out with another. s0m is somewhat consistent but he never reached the level of impact that marved did with optc. dont even get me started with fns. its no debate that he is by far the weakest igl in terms of mechanical skill when it comes to the "big" teams, but he used to have phenomenal calls and immaculate midrounding, something that we havent seen from him consistently in this tournament, much less this year.

if you ever watched cn qualifier, you know how fast blg making progress. They got sweep in first match against edg, and they had a chance to take it to the map5 in rematch. The blg roster just been built for 3 month and im looking forward to seeing them play aginst drx.

Nrg arent very good when facing teams that is aggresive and takes a lot of risky fights. But when it comes to teams that are slower and methodical fns is able to predict them very very well. Most likely this is gonna be their homework during the offseason. Maybe by changing players or maybe just by adding new setup and exec to their structure

the number of times NRG lined up is enough to surpass "bad luck"... once or twice on chaotic rounds can be "bad luck"...but for the number of times NRG did it? that's just terrible habits and awful team-coord fundamentals.
compare their team-fights to the top Brazil teams, who I feel like have DRILLED in taking fights together with wide spacing and multi-angles (maybe that's why Less hit that crazy spray transfer)...

Honestly.
1. They banned Haven, forcing Nrg off of a comfy pick that wouldve resulted in a victory for them for sure.
2. They got insanely lucky with the clutch to prevent OT on Bind, full speed run and gun blind collat double headshot is one of the most unlucky ways teams have lost a map.
3. I think Nrg were struggling with their fights A LOT. What I think is that Nrg all are capable of being clutch for their team and amazing to carry a round, but they dont have a player who will consistently win them fights to get them in the advantage, someone like yay who did that for optic, or derke, whos doing it for fnatic right now.
4.They played better. Their individual gameplay was just way above nrgs form, dismantling them in duels every time.
Overall: I think this is a tough loss for nrg. I think ardiis as their main duelist just doesnt work tho. Their core is still very strong, but my main issue with them is that their individual performance is so far from any other team. Ardiis style is that he will carry a round, then feed for 3 rounds straight, where the rest of your team will have to focus up and do it themselves, thats what it felt like for their last games we saw. I think that doesnt work with their team at all. Have a guy who is playstylewise like derke or yay on their team, they will look a lot better in my opinion. They are missing consistency from their star player, that is the main issue I saw with them this year. Make of that what you want, that is my opinion based of what I have seen in their games, and I think the main way of fixing their roster is have someone who maybe doesnt have the CARRY potential of ardiis but who is consistent enough for the rest of them to shine on their team.
I agree. I think point 3 is the biggest. If the team isn't performing, then the team needs that one player to hold down the fort until everyone else logs in. Mako is a goood example. I think it was against zeta division at the start of the pacific league where zeta got off to a good start on ascent and drx were struggling and all of a sudden, mako wins them like 2-3 rounds on his own before everyone else started performing. However, even these guys can have bad days and someone else needs to perform and for drx, it is generally rb who clutches a few rounds. Those players back in the optic days were yay and marved. Like yes, victor and crashies are excellent players. Top quality in fact. But they don't bring the level of consistency that yay and marved did. I feel like they should drop ardiis and find a player that's a consistent fragger because if they want a entry duelist, they have victor who is an excellent entry duelist. Som has been their best player and i think he would do better next year. Also, banning haven, finesse's best map, was a smart decision. I don't know why teams don't do this more often.

Tho I dont particularly agree with the log on thing, I think it is more that they are very clutch players and are very good at turning rounds around in general, however they might not bring the biggest "how often do i get at least 1 kill per round" to the table. I think that is where they need someone like yay to set them off with a kill or two for them to be able to mop up in the rounds where they dont get 3-4.
1. they also beat NRG on their 2nd and 3rd best maps (split/bind) and NRG aren't bad at ascent either
2. it wasn't going to OT, that was the 11-10 round but even if they won it they wouldn't reset them, 2100 loss bonus and all of them had 3k+, so it wouldn't be an ensured victory, just not an ensured loss. also yosemite wasn't that lucky, he was pre aimed on that spot and saw them as he's coming out the wall, it was unlucky that they lined up though.
3. yes but they were team fighting poorly. BLG team fought extremely well, NRG won double the first kills, BLG just traded back with no answer or used very clever util and timings to catch them mispositioned, just like TMV was talking about they were reading them really well and sacrificing players for map control a lot of the time.
4. i agree ardiis is not the best fit for the team but it's really more than that. the firepower of the whole team is very weak and the fundamentals are shaky against teams who actually have a game plan and built to trade. i'd say you need at least 2 more players with cracked aim and imho yay isn't really playing at that level right now, and his position on OG optic wasn't the same as what ardiis does. ardiis is a playmaker like most EMEA duelists such as derke/sayf, more like victor's position; you're supposed to go in and make some space, get information with your body, get a pick or two. yay was a lurker/site anchor and held creative angles to harass the enemy team. in his time on jett at the top level and t2 he wasn't playing that well as compared to playmaker type jetts like OXY, leaf, and reduxx.
personally i'd get a cracked young playmaking jett, bench FNS and get a dedicated sentinel lurker IGL with solid aim like johnqt as FNS was getting no value off of his lurks and frankly he was also getting outcalled in both BLG series.
@@rubbles2206 1. Ever since nrg have gone off their harbour ideas, their bind has looked pretty poor. 2. The round lost was 11-10, then 11-11. If they wouldve won that round, Blg wouldve been on a save instead. Instead they lost, forcing them to play a full buy round, which they lost, against a save it wouldve probably been 13 10. The last round of the map, they wouldve probably won if they had guns. Crashies had an angle off which he wouldve gotten three most likely with a vandal, instead having a stinger made them to lose that round.
3. If you think Fns was getting outcalled during their series and should be benched as an igl, youre just straight up delusional and have never taken a look at Nrgs voice comms which are usually uploaded on their yt channel.
4. The secret of yay is knowing when to not overheat. This is the reason OpTic had as much success, not going for it, sending it, playing FUCKING HORRIBLY. They played controlled, with a coldness perfectly displayed in marved and yay. These players dont overheat, and having a player who will get you that kill but then overheat like ardiis will destroy your team idea. Nrgs and OpTics style is vastly different due to the difference in the star player. Having the HEAT in your star player like a new talent, like you suggested, will have the same result as with ardiis, instead they should try the old, cold playstyle of optic with players that belong in that style, as that has obviously worked better.
@@rubbles2206 tbh id give FNS some more time, hard to judge how effective someones calling is when his team is losing every duel but also the dude has been one of the best IGLS in the world for years, benching him after 1 (arguably 2) bad tournaments doesnt make sense, imo hes the player on NRG that needs replacing the least because IGLS are in such short supply in valo RN

Valorant is moving past the “IGLs are allowed to be bad aimers” era and leaving NRG behind.
Back in Optics prime, FNS could afford to aim poorly. Yay on chamber for free map control and Marveds strong lurks, along with Victor Crashies as a super strong core. FNS can’t cling to the past or NRG will end up like Sentinels did. They need to adapt and improve. Chamber meta is gone, and players have gotten better at calling and aiming simultaneously.
FNS needs to be dropped or improve his aim to where he gets double digit kills before overtime (even against Zeta). Losing this many 5v4s and 4v3s further prove this. When players like Biank can call well and frag out at the same time, along with 4 more demons, the cracks start to show
? Saadhak, Boaster, Ange1, all these igls have been somewhat mid aimers always. I mean you are calling FNS bad but there were a couple rounds he won on his own? Like the only reason I'm writing this is I think you are actually reasonable, and IGLs have never been 'Bad' aimers, they just have not been the best. FNS has also top fragged in various map, in presence of much better players than him too. Even if FNS is dropped from NRG, he will be picked up in a different team, and who will NRG pick? There is a drought of good IGLs. Yes he performed very poorly, both as a player and an IGL this game, but IGLing isn't just a 'LOL let's have a bad aimer in our team who speaks a lot' spot, their job goes from antistratting other teams before and during the match, to reacting appropriately to the enemy playstyle (adapting I forgot the word). And NRG had a relatively under performance throughout the year, but they still placed pretty high up in every regional and international event despite looking in poor form, and qualified for every event too. So yeah, they are not THAT bad. More props should be given to BLG, who just played incredibly
@@serenalaurence1492 I follow your line of logic, but I just definitely think FNS is considerably worse than other IGL’s at fragging, and IGL’s are catching up to him rapidly in everything else.
I mean he got his 10th kill on double overtime, round 28 against Zeta, who they even won to. Boaster got equal kills or more than all BLG’s players in their series. Obv that’s all recent examples but it’s not just been this event, FNS has never been the IGL with consistent fragging power. Occasional pop off plays for sure, but very inconsistent.
Look at the amount of lost 5v4s, 4v3s, they had +16 first kills at one point. They had the ability to get the first kill, but did not have the ability to close out these rounds, which is, largely, an IGL’s job.
Billibilli played amazing and stepped up big. I don’t want to diminish that. But they aren’t some unstoppable super team, FNC cooked them. I think FNS needs to bring his aim up to par with other IGL’s like Biank and Boaster.
Also, this is no shade to the guy. I say all this purely about gameplay and not the guy himself

I don’t think they get access to all the bili bili money. Also since when does a team’s monetary background matter for how good they are? @@Ruuinx 100t and sentinels are cutting wages and cutting employees, they don't have enough money to continue long term at the current pace. The team is owned by Bilibili and yes they have their own search engine as well as video streaming platform. basically google, twitch, and youtube of China. Teams with more money can allocate more resources towards their players happiness, mental health, support system, etc. resulting in better performance.

I believe the players submit how they want their names to be pronounced to the casters, so this is likely a preference from Knight. The Chinese Casters tend to call him "小K" (Little K) so I think Knight just likes having the K be its own thing
