3 years later and king for another day is still my favorite event to ever happen on the internet, so much cool music has been arranged for the project that i still come back to this day and it's awesome how many different talented musicians it was able to bring together. the j-music arrangements you guys did are amazing, teknopathetic and ink me up were excellent choices to do in your style. it was cool to see this video happen to show up in my recommendations! subscribed
5:30 that Road Taken cover would’ve gone so hard 😢 Regardless, this was a really interesting look into the process behind one of the best KFAD2 arranges. Glad we’re still getting content like this after 3 years.
I KNEW IT!! I KNEW THE HORN AT THE END WENT WILD LIKE YOUR GUYS’ COVER OF PRICE!! I THOUGHT IT WAS TOO SIMILAR, AND BOTH PIECES ARE GREAT!! In all seriousness, great job guys!!
Amazing stuff, thanks for the insight and everything! So cool how stuff connects, like Jet Set Radio being made in the first place, SiIvagunner making such an event, y'all going for it, all by some fascinating chance and leading to a beautiful remix, amazing stuff and thanks again♥
We were privileged to be able to feature the contributions of you and J-Music Ensemble… it's so cool that you made this video on the production! Thank you so much again on behalf of the project directors.
It's cool to see people still talking about the event to this day. I didn't follow it when it happened but I have followed a lot of the tournament that took inspiration from it like mashup week, another unnecessary tournament and remix rumble.
I'd think I'd need a little more arrangements under my belt before I'd apply to do a panel. But I appreciate that you enjoyed the video! Means a bunch. 💖
Everything from that tournament inspired me a lot. This rip was fantastic and I still listen to it on a daily basis at work. Thank you and the team for making some high quality bangers :)
Great watch, love seeing the insight and prep that goes into all of it. Though now im a bit sad that we never got that road taken rip lmao. Its my favourite fates song!
I'm still listening to KFAD tracks regularly, and I was listening to them alongside some good rips while making dinner just now. I was so pleasantly confused seeing this in my recommended videos.
This is awesome! If anyone here hasn't already experienced KFAD and its sequel, then PLEASE check them out, they scream passion. (And if you really wanna commit yourself, try checking out the tournaments chronologically!)
This was very cool to learn about, I'm glad this video popped up in my recommended. I've been a fan of J-Music for years, and I really enjoyed that Teknopathetic rip, so it was great learning more about how it was created.
Wow, this video was a MASSIVE surprise showing up in my recommendations. I have so many good memories tied to that last KFAD, alongside songs that I revisit- and your Technopathetic rendition is HIGH up there as a favorite. I had no clue it was done by the J-Music Ensemble, but it makes all the sense now with how wonderfully produced it is. It knocked its competition out of the PARK. Thanks for giving a nifty, behind-the-curtain look at it, I was always curious about the rip’s creation, and absolutely keep it up!
Teknopathetic and other KFAD arrangements helped me form my music tastes today! I'm interested in jazz fusion now, and it was funny getting interested in the J-Music ensemble and going back to see I had enjoyed something they had done a few years before.
Damn, nice to see this being recommended to me honestly, since I definitely remember this arrangement and it banging the fuck out, and it was also interesting to me seeing people like you guys covering this for KFAD 2 as well; definitely very interesting to hear the process here as well, especially the whole thing about the TB-303 loop in the breakdown since personally I wouldn't have thought twice about just sequencing the whole thing and just playing that as a part of the backing track if I was to play this live, but in a jazz context you'd definitely need to deal with this very delicately, especially when improvising, so I can see why you had to do what you had to do, and considering how great that breakdown sounds like it was definitely a pretty good call haha Btw, I have done some of my own stuff for KFAD 2 as well, though neither of the covers I did were accepted, which I'm honestly bitter about to this day, especially with how much effort I put into it and seeing it getting it thrown into the dust like that was very infuriating to me, and that, alongside all the other rips I tried sending to them suffering a similar fate was pretty much the main reason why I just stopped caring about the channel altogether, though at the very least I don't have anything personal with any of the rippers or anything like that, they're still fairly cool in my eyes; but yeah, if anyone wants me to link it I have this album on Bandcamp that have both of them alongside some other stuff, but since this is unrelated to this particular arrangement I'm not going to bother linking it unless there's the demand to it I guess
The Teknopathetic arrangement is what got me interested in the JSR franchise since I accidentally clicked on it and it goes so hard. Thank you for creating that masterpiece.
Yooo this was one of my favorite arrangements from the tournament! I remember being taken aback when I saw it was recorded in a studio, but I never thought we'd get to hear about the behind the scenes. Very cool!
Been anticipating this video for a while and this didn't disappoint! Very well spoken, professionally edited, and informative video about what goes into remixing a song with a team looks like! I know nothing about music but this video was very easy to follow every step of the way. Great video that was totally worth the wait!
There are videos! At the time, whatever J-MUSIC recorded got caught on video too. We planned to do videos for both "Ink Me Up" and "Tekno" but we just never got around to making them. It's a shame because both of those videos would be funny as hell!
@SaculDob They'll probably be on all the streaming platforms when they come out - but I'll do a social media blast about the releases everywhere, including here!
Surprised to hear J-Music was behind the Teknopathetic song for KFAD...but now it makes so much sense considering how hard you guys go for the P5 soundtrack. I'm now personally conflicted about all of you. On one hand, this was an excellent peice on my favorite game of all time...on the other, J-Music is partially responsible for Mariya losing. The only way you guys can make this up is by doing more JSRF music (I particularly remember hearing Oldie But Goodie during your explanation lol)
I kind of expected he would play brief pieces of the original song or the cover so that I could, you know, tell what he was talking about at any given moment.
Doing comparisons like that on the video wasn't a move I could make lest the video gets demonetized or I get DMCA'd. But if you want links, I gotchu: Original: ruclips.net/video/btqdXGjtXn4/видео.html J-MUSIC's Version: ruclips.net/video/EyYj80XEcRk/видео.html

Very cool insight into this remix, was one of my favorite remixes of KFAD2, so it’s cool to know what goes on with remixes sometimes
ITS BEEN 3 YEARS???? WHAT THE FUCK I STILL LISTEN TO TEKNOPATHETIC AUUHGUHUHUG

The arrangement was done and everything too. I still wanna record it and release it some time in 2023!

This remix was all I listened over the summer the year it came out. Really appreciate the skill and talent behind every part of it.
Easily a top 3 song in the KFAD event, glad I got to hear some of the story behind it!

Well done to you and the ensemble for this absolute banger! (:
I need this to be a panel at MAGFest. I could sit and listen about your methodology for hours.
Beautiful video (and music) composition!!!

This was extremely interesting! I would've never expected to see a video diving into this arrangement and its production, it was very cool.

Could you put Rip's link in the description?
nice >:]
For the tournament, weren't they called arranges instead of high quality rips?
I don't remember, but for the sake of getting folks that don't know about SG hip I just opted to use the more widely-used verbiage
God I just had a Mandela effect moment, I always thought the song was called teknopathic not technopathetic.
Isn’t it illegal to say you made something’s
Run before it’s to late
KFAD contributors are already credited in the video descriptions so anonymity agreement doesn't apply
Also, to continue off of MtH’s comment,
The tournament has been out for y e a r s
This whole time I thought the song was called technopathic instead of technopathetic
i know nothing about this guy and i probably got this into my recommended because i watch way too much SiIva.
