Its nice when. you don't have to work under the car as it only goes up 1 metre😝 Trying to get an exhaust, drive shaft or subframe out is a bit of a challenge with one of these but they are really good on small spaces
Can you explain how the air travels all the way from the intake ducts at the front of the car all the way into the engine? I’d love to know this as I’ve been wondering for ages, the whole water to air stuff confuses me when it looks like there’s air to air too?
Hi Phill, these cars uses Air to water intercoolers in order to minimize lag and increase throttle response - Basically the shortest possible pathway from the turbo to the intake manifold, makes it better. So instead of having all the plumbing for the pressurised air go to the front of the car to get cooled the back into the manifold (conventional air to air), there is another coolant system called low temp which is there just to cool the intake air going into the engine. The intake air comes from the front into the air filter boxes > through the air filters > into the turbochargers > the pressurised air exits the turbo and go to those two big metal boxes (air to water intercooler) from there it goes down through the throttle body into the intake manifold > to the engine. The water/coolant for the Low temperature intercooler is constantly being pumped and circulates through the intercooler (to cool it down therefore cooling the passing pressurised air) then goes to the radiators in front of the car to release the heat absorbed. I hope this helps a bit - the process is actually simple but all those hoses do look scary 🤣
@@dnl35projects awesome I get it now, although I admit I did also watch the engineering explained video from 5 years ago to help me get it 😁 thanks so much for replying! Looking forward to more M5 content 👍
@phillynarrowstraight The S63TU is a reverse flow engine also known as a hot V. The exhaust manifolds and turbos are on the top, whereas most conventional V8s have the intake manifold on top in the V. Thus, the intake manifolds are on the sides where the exhaust is on most V8s.
I can't believe even though I CLEARLY say "these are for the Intercooler" (also known as charge air cooler) you somehow believe they are radiators for the engine. Dude for real ? Watch the video again and try to understand it
Finally I found 'the channel' for me and my competition M5... 👏👏👏
Thanks, I’m glad you like it !
Even the short videos are great quality!
Thank you
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
That's an impressive amount of heat exchangers. Almost as many as in the Veyron 😂
🤣🤣
You rock! Well done!
Vlw !
nice scissor lift. how high up off the ground did you have to get it? i am also working in small garage ceilings.

hey man not sure if youll see this but do you have a link to all the coolant hoses i have a leak i cant seem to find just want to change them all
check the part numbers on ReaOEM website - Theres no package for all hoses

I can't believe you just said the charge air cooler radiators are engine coolers. Dude for real?
