It is a VT569B or VT956B (same chip - just different layout of numbers - dual core CPU) that was originally developed for cheap VR equipment but evidently whatever it was designed for was scrapped so they are making handhelds out of it.
Yeah man. It’s baaaad. Pop off the internal disc and slice the edge of your thumb on the perimeter. No bueno either way. It’s pretty much a dealbreaker.
Good review - thank you 👍. It would have been interesting if this device had Bluetooth to get more use out of the kickstand. That would have been a nice gimmick. Looking forward to more interesting and quirky retro handhelds.
If they would’ve included Bluetooth it might’ve worked pretty well as a mini console. I feel like it won’t be very stable with a cable attached while sitting on that kickstand, but maybe a 2.4ghz dongle will work decently enough with it. They’re supposed to be updating the firmware, so I’m waiting on that, but I’m not expecting anything spectacular. It is a quirky handheld for sure, and I enjoy reviewing them. Even if I don’t love every one of them, I love checking them out. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video!
I’ve run into the issues of my games not loading and or freezing on some parts. Any fix to this? I know I got to do the SD but where do I start looking to fix the problem?
I was a big fan of the SJGAM R18 handheld that you reviewed on the channel a while back. It may have had certain deficiencies; but, the layout wasn't one. Widescreen vertical handhelds speak to me for some reason. This E5 Jelly is no exception. I assume it's because I got into retro emulation through using a phone mounted above an Xbox-style controller and this is kind of the same thing, but with better weight balance. I don't know. I just like them. I'm not a fan of not including the second stick. A few racing games on the PS1 used the right stick for analog throttle and brakes and I really like that control layout. It's not a big deal though, I guess. The PS1 had digital controls for 99.9% of the system's games and every other system this supports didn't even have the option of a right stick, so I get why they'd cut that cost. Until they get the forced widescreen fixed there's a smattering of PS1 games which had anamorphic 16:9 support built-in. A few that I can think of right off include "Colin McRae Rally", "TOCA World Touring Cars" (it had different names in different markets), a bunch of Formula 1 games, that JGTC Japanese touring car game, "Bloody Roar 2", and the last few entries in EA's "Triple Play Baseball" series. If you're an Angels fan, you'll get to play with their World Series team in widescreen! I'd make a joke about their futility in the decades since; but, the only video game rendition of the last Reds World Series season is on Genesis and/or Super Nintendo, so I have no room to be throwing stones. Also, I think "Ghost In The Shell" has a 16:9 option as well. I enjoyed this first look video of the GameMT E5 and I'm looking forward to seeing your full length review after it has gotten sufficiently updated. Until then I guess I'll make like a tree and... get out of here.
Another great comment. I had no idea PlayStation had games with anamorphic 16:9 support. My brother is a huge baseball fan and although he doesn’t live in California anymore I think he’d really enjoy playing as the last Angels All Star team. I’m gonna have to give it a try and suggest it to him as well. I can’t remember each players stats like he could, and I didn’t collect the Beckett Guide like him, but I still love the game. And, the only player I remember from the Reds is Pete Rose 😂 Thanks for stopping by my friend.
Cool. Would be interesting if you can see how long the battery lasts if you don't use it as a power bank. Also with the updates the performance. Was it from Alli express?
You might know this by now but that Super Mario Advance opening screen with the overlay...that's normal for that game. I assume Nintendo is showing you that the view on GBA is not going to be the same as it was on NES? I don't know but it's totally normal. As for the device...I have an affinity for ugly handhelds like this and the E6. I kick myself for not grabbing a Gameforce Chi possibly the epitome of handheld ugliness. If this were released in the purple and green color scheme I might grab it. EDIT: Well heck. It's available in that garish color scheme. Now I'm torn lol.
I wasn’t aware of that. Appreciate it. I too have a thing for the ugly handhelds and was also on the fence about the Gameforce Chi. I think if I was doing this channel at the time of release I would’ve grabbed one. Haha, sounds like you now have a dilemma with the E5, but the Gameforce Chi was still so much cooler. I won’t blame you if you decide to pass on this one.
According to the guy from company this is not 3326, but some cortex A9 cpu, but hes so mysterious about what it is.
Aw man, I’m kinda not surprised. And it probably says Cotex…
@@OGTechNick I bet the cpu is sanded

For that price that thing is amazing!! That’s a lot of games! Bigger than buying each individual game console.
Great review! I liked the format of this handheld. I'm still waiting for my unit to arrive. Looking forward here.
Finally this laptop got a review indeed!
Thank you for this news! 😁✌️👊
Thanks for watching!
Good of you to make a video on this one. I've been pretty tempted to grab one too, mostly for the collection.
Thanks man. Hope you’re doing well.
I’m still waiting for this to arrive. Good review
Thanks bro
Is it worth the buy?
Would love to see a better operating system for those things. Retroarch would be amazing on that thing.
I’m pretty sure that screen on SMB3 isn’t supposed to have any sound.
I can’t find a game list for these
This showed up last night. The DPad is killing me. I took it apart not a RK3326 it is the less powerful VT569B found in the D-R35 Plus

I wana know how to install more ps1 roms and snes roms and such is there any info out there please 🙏

I’ll see about testing that. Ya, I put the link in the description. There are a few other sellers on AliExpress as well.
Thanks!! Its available nintendo DS Games ?? Don't see emu
Can someone please tell me how to pair the controllers before I put this thing through a wall 😑😑😑
hmm when will the software update be its tempting to buy
I’m not exactly sure. They said they’d let me know, but I’ll try bugging them again tomorrow and urge them to get it done.

Huh, so that's what the R35Plus could have been if they didn't change the software.
I totally forgot about the R35Plus. Haha
Turns out this thing has the VT569B of the D-R35-Plus according to some who opened theirs on reddit.
What a strange little device. I was interested when I first saw it. But then I realized how wide it is. Idk how to feel about it
It’s about as strange as its name. Yeah, there are so many better options for the price.
Got the "Evangelion" theme one and besides the aesthetics it's pretty meh 😕 would have to use it more but the d-pad just takes me out of it 😔
I know what you mean. When I watched it back I realized I used the thumbstick for half of the gameplay. I just can’t hang with the dpad.
i had my volume to the max and i could bearly hear you , and im 25years old with perfectly hearing ear canals.
Sounds like a you problem… Get new speakers or watch another channel. Everybody else can hear this video fine.
lol the sound starts after you start the game ............
Haha. Yeah, that can happen pretty often with the cheaper emulation devices.
That's The same one im waiting on
use the stick
Not use to Mario 2? Omg what!? 🫥
