I was surprised that my new i9 and new GPU right from the get go was freezing. I am getting very disappointed with Magix and their SW folks. Especially it crashes whenever importing from their Vegas cloud services. But otherwise still often crashing. I've learned to be saving every few minutes with added text in the line for where I am in the edit e.g., t5.40m . I've been using Vegas for many years - it has many great features - but they need to make it stable. Trying all the 'fixes' I see on the I'net -- these here frankly seemed a little 'weak'. Although cutting off ones GPU arm - seemed quite draconian.
Hey! I have a problem on all versions of vegas. 14, 16 and 18 is the versions i have tried. When i press render as, the mouse turns into the loading symbol and the whole window is not interactive anymore. it just freezes and i have to close it from task manager. i have tried countless tutorials and nothing helps. please help me
i`m running a project which is estimated at 13gb and running at 40 minutes (combination of 3 videos), but by the end of rendering - the file size is only at 4gb and only rendered the first 12 minutes. any idea what went wrong? thanks
Hey Alex. Have a question for you about Vegas 19...every time I open another window, google something, or even watch the rendered file I just finished, Vegas takes awhile to come back..it just hangs there with the spinning hourglass for anywhere from 10secs to 2mins...and it drives me nuts...why can't it just come back immediately? It's like the program gets hung up if you decide to look at something else for a second. There has to be a fix for it to react faster and not act like it's sleeping!
for me, it was that I did not allow enough memory on ram preview, I had added a lot of footage, so it was crashing cus it didn't have enough memory allowed to open it all.
First thing does not helped. Still crashes. Second thing will be tried. Third thing does not helped. Still crashes. Fourth thing does not helped. Still crashes. Fifth thing bad tip. My Vegas crashes when doing montage not rendering. Still crashes. Conslusion: Stupid unhelpful video that wastes space on RUclips and time of people looking for help.

Why turn the video acceleration option off again? Seems like that would be helpful for performance?
You'd think so but it actually worked for me???? I was having a consistent crash issue and it fixed it. Maybe it's because I have an Arc, though.
Turn off Gpu acceleration
That's akin to.buying a porshe and advising runn it from the battery
Turning off GPU acceleration made things a lot worse, definitely keep that selected as your graphics card or your preview window will be a powerpoint
most annoying app I ever use is vegas
I have always found the main cause of freezing is the use of the undo button. No idea what the cure is though.
Switched off the GPU and dedicated 40% RAM fixed my crashes. Thank you!

I just got a new PC, with a 1070, and an 9th Gen i7. Crashes my entire PC constantly. Did the same on my prior PC, and with V19, and the new V20.

i just bought vegas pro 21 and it keeps on crashing when rendering the fuck?
Thumbnail setting to None or head and tail only 👍 on preference

MY VEGAS PRO WAS SET TO 200 MEMORY USAGE NO WONDER IT KEPT CRASHING- MUSTVE BEEN SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT BEING CRACKED DNENIDNEJS
