For Sony Vegas Pro 18 users, Try holding shift then click options then internal

@ProTutorials I have a windows laptop XPS dell running with SonyVegas 18 and when I go to options and then click shift and enter it doesn't give me the Extra Preferences (with the internal tab) how can I get there on my Windows laptop or what exactly I need to click to get there .. thank you!!!

For those of you who can't find "Internal", hold the Shift key BEFORE clicking Options and at the bottom below Preferences you'll see Internal. And if you don't see TRUE and FALSE, remember TRUE has a value of 1 and FALSE has a value of 0

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!! I'm going to try this when I get home.... especially after spending over 10 hours on what ended up being a 6 second clip. Was considering deleting the program and just using my old 2013 version instead. Really hoping this fixes my freezing and crashing issues.

2:25: In vegas pro 20 it is called Hardware Decoder for So4 Compound Reader and as Value there is "1", I set it to "0" i.e. disabled, while "2" should be "AUTO".
I hope they solve the unexplained freeze problems for version 20 as well, and hope I don't have to disable the hardware acceleration on my 4060ti

Yeah. Fail. If you're using Sony Vegas Pro (i'm using v.20.0) you need to SHIFT-click the OPTIONS, not the PREFERENCES. The "internal" option will appear below "PREFERENCES".

Why does Vegas have to have the best UI? I hate it. Even on super high end PC's you get these issues, it's ridiculous.

En un momento totalmente aleatorio, basicamente vegas se empieza a trabar, por asi decirlo delay, doy click a una parte del video, y lo hace 1.5 segundos despues, y es muy tedioso porque va muy lento, me paso en vegas 17, me pase al 21, y sigue igual, no se si alguien tenga la solucion, o le pase lo mismo
so4 didn't turn up anything for me.
The steps change slightly in Pro 18.
Hold shift PRIOR to clicking the Options menu, and you will find Internal at the bottom.
The 'so4' search also shows a value of 1 rather than true, I set mine to 0 because that's typically FALSE in programming.
I am genuinely in disbelief of how much lag this removes from vegas. Thank you SO much!

Bro, I am having the craziest issue... Been on this program for over 12 years never experienced anything like this. This always worked, now it just won't. I have trouble shot this thing every which way. When creating clips and using the greenscreen plug in to SV will not render. It shows it's rendering, you see the time lapse moving, but what is not moving is the progression section. It may jump to 1 or 4 or 8 but then it just like stops... but again, the time lapse counter continues as if it is rendering. All other projects without greenscreen clips render perfectly. ANY help from anyone would be appreciated. This always worked before, no changes have been made to my pc, it just stopped. It refuses to render anything with a greenscreen clip in it. The clip itself will render but when you put the greenscreen plug in, no.
Setting your dynamic ram higher only helps if you store a part of it in memory by hitting shift + b, otherwise it does nothing to the preview...
someone can help my render with nv encode the final video file become 0 bytes but when i use mainconcept its normal but i prefer nv encode someone can help?

Got to 89% after 5 hours for a 26min long video then crashed, I used your options... been working on this project for a non-stop month and a half... I would never think the last part rendering would be so difficult, now I see why all youtubers use adobe.. Vegas Not Pro sucks...

it did help with the slow showing video (in the editing menu) but still when going to render it froze on one part. I deleted that and replaced it with the other and it was all fine
Still not working for me, I tried literally EVERYTHING. I'm doing an animation using a mask and I'm about 1/3 from finishing the animation... for 3 months! I'm stuk for over 3 months on the same single POINT from where I can't go on, I'm drawing paths over a mask and every time I try to add the next anchor to the path the program crashes. I literally tried everything... I see no hope for my project.
Render what u did by now, create a New .veg in case o need to Go back, delete Allan Thatcher part And replace with the rendered video, then save again and go on with the pohect

All of a sudden i had the issue (mid-edit) that Vegas 16 would freeze for whatever reason. Restarting Vegas, restarting PC, updating everything (it already was), etc didnt work. Vegas froze everytime i reopened ANY file (not just for the video i was working on). I was about to throw my damn PC out the window but luckily i found this video. You are SuperMan in disguise, right......................Clark???

I've ran Sony Vegas Pro 8.0c for years now with no big issues. I bought Movie Studio Platinum 16 thinking it was an upgrade from what I had, but it's had some glitches, such as freezing when rendering. I'm thinking of getting the latest version of Vegas Pro but Platinum 16 has made me skeptical.
