Dark Energy and Master's Mellow sound amazing....interesting that the Masters Dark Crash Ride has less definition and bell sound than the Dark Crash! You play with a great feel too...awesome video!

That is a great and helpful comparison. I own the 20“ Master Dark Crash and the 22“ Dark Ride myself and while they don’t seem to sound that great by themselves, they ride sit amazingly well in the mix and sound wonderful when using them in a musical context. Also, that Mellow Ride is beautiful and it has been sitting on my wishlist for some years.

Nice vid. Im just getting into paiste cymbals. I recently bought the 20 masters thin which in general is great but as a dedicated ride the wash can drown out the stick hits a bit too easily for my playing and ends up sounding like im using a mallet. Im waiting for the masters 22 thin and 22 dark to arrive in store to try them out. Im thinking ill go with the dark. Hopefully a bit more tamed with the wash. Im trying to replace my 22 mel lewis Istanbul ride which unfortunately has a crack developing around the bell and the store no longer stocks Istanbul. It also has a decent wash but the pitch is lower so isnt as distracting.
Sorry @diangara3298, I accidentally removed your comment. I was just going to say the 20 dark crash in the video makes a great ride with a moon gel on it (at softer volumes). I think its completely open in the video.

Cheers. A moon get, or a small bit of tape can really help. Are you using crash’s for a ride?
