Actually… When he came to Montreal for the BEAT tour, i personnally asked him to go on there and play Dance Of Eternity by DT, cause Mike Portnoy played Pneuma, and he laughed and said: Yeah! I should do that! So if someday that happens, thank me later😂

Hey I'll just say this. To me Danny, you represent what a lifetime of passion for something can look like. I'm glad you walked the path that you did, it's lead to some serious enjoyment on my part. Thanks man.
I’ve seen Danny in so many interviews and on these awesome videos on this amazing channel and all I can think of is, I wish I had half of Danny’s talent, happiness and passion for his musical craft! Thank you so much for just being you Danny!
Thank god you’ve been creating these videos! So much knowledge and wisdom to gain from you dude… surely you can convince the rest of the lads to come for a down under tour in Australia!! Love ya Danny, keep rocking on 🤘
Pretty sure it’s a Noise Works 18”/11” Dark Buzz China, and it looks like he mounted the splash on top like an X-hat. But yah I wish he mentioned it too lol
I'd love to see some more videos of Danny warming up or Joe warming up the kit. Or even just jamming on the kit. The access we have to one of the greatest drummers is unbelievable. What a time to be alive
Thanks for sharing, Danny! Love these videos you’ve been shooting out lately. I had the pleasure of hearing you hit the gong live in Columbus, Ohio in 2022! You guys put on an amazing show, and the gong hit stuck out to me as one of my favorite parts! That thing breaks through everything and makes your jaw drop when you hear it live. Also saw you guys at louder than life last year. Also an amazing show!
Awesome to see this from you Danny, looking forward to hopefully catch y'all one of these days! Still trying to learn the Eulogy back beat, thanks for the tremendous amount of inspiration you've given me. Much love!
Danny! I've been a huge TOOL fan since sober came out when I was 13. Still blasting the music every week. When you were hitting those little bell cymbals the song Jimmy came to mind - which was monumental to me. Hope one day we get to see you playing along to those songs on the tube. Cheers my man and thanks so much for the music all these years.
Paiste fan since I began drums, none of the other brands I tried felt right. I'd seen a few other drummers always having problems with cracking and breaking Zildjians and Sabians. 24 years of drumming now, all my Paiste cymbals are still in one piece.
Thank you so much for doing these ! Danny, you are 100% the reason I play drums. You have inspired me so many times and you truly are one of the greatest drummers and drum minds we've ever had. Sincerely from the bottom of my heart thank you for playing and inspiring generations to think and play differently
Just realized I was listening to NPR (thinking it was the audio for this video) and the narrative of a West Germany family moving “squatting” to get their property when the wall came down, fits right in with Danny’s cymbal set up.
Love you Danny! Two things I'd like to see before I die. You collaborating with Drumeo, and the release of the rest of that Vic Firth concert video. I've got maybe 20 or 30 years left. 😂
Hi Danny! Please post some concert footage of you playing Stewart's hi hats. I'm curious how they sound when mixed in with the band. I'm a huge fan. You're quite possibly the best drummer of my generation. To you and the rest of the team, thank you for all of the good music. God bless you all.
I had forgotten the Beavis and Butthead had commented on Tool early on. I came across an interview of Danny on the release of Fear Inoculum. I believe this is mentioned. Heh, any kind of support is good and has made Tool through their incredible hard work and high levels of playing one of a kind. In the area of prog drummers, Danny is right there with any of them; honestly, comparing them is like trying to find your favorite wine or bud; we all have personal likes. Last I would say is that being a musician, my friends and I look and listen from an artistic as well as a theoretical lens at the expression.
I never knew it was pronounced Pie-stee for Paiste cymbals. I always said Paste. Lol. Danny is incredible. I'm lucky to have seen him live a few times.
While you're doing these run downs, I'd love a video about the sound effects and samples you have in battery. What's the origin of the intro samples on stinkfist? What is that synthish sound at 1:35 on the grudge? Bonus if you make a sample pack and release it with native instruments.
Love ya Danny! Want a Joel Embid Sixers jersey 😅 Suprise the 13 hats can withstand the power. Ive been wanting to try your ride, got cut to it. Biggest Tool / DC fan, got to see a sam ash store clinic in PA back in lateralus days.
hey danny brotha , i would love to talk to ya more , i am a oldschool 80's drummer here and you great at what you do indeed , love your drums n and set-up and your drumming , thanks n we'll talk soon > tom !
It's a Paiste 11" Splash that was the top of the discontinued Dark Buzz China stack (11" Splash on top of an 18" China), with a 2002 18" China Type on bottom if I remember right.
Danny Carey, you are an absolute gem of a human being and thank you for continuing to support your friends in Primus as they are going through a difficult time. I hope TIm "Herb" Alexander's health improves, and he's able to find joy in his life away from making music with the band.
I’ve followed Danny since Undertow was released and my drumming style was forever changed. They say never meet your idols, but I don’t think that applies to Danny. He genuinely seems like the nicest, unpretentious guy. I’d love to get a chance to meet up with him someday. That said…you missed a cymbal. 😉
The video where Danny plays Lateralus and gets interviewed after, the interviewer call Paiste " those spiritual cymbals". 1) who did the interview ? 2) what did he mean by that?
Hasn't he had that 3000 8" Bell since the beginning? I know he used it on Undertow. They've been discontinued since 95 but I'm sure Paiste would be more than happy to make one for him, like that 2002 24" Novo China that's never been available in that size.

Danny and Stewart Copeland sitting down and jamming would be awesome. Keep posting, Danny. This is great.
I love that Joe knows the rig possibly more than DC
Surprisingly a lot of established drummers that are endorsed have limited knowledge about the gear they play.
