      There are plenty of science based channel. At this point, if people still rely only on influencers, that's their choice.
      Speaking about, having a divergent opinion is pretty normal in academic studies. That's why you start trying something different.
      Sometime it appear to be true. And then it's confirmed.
      Sometime it happens once and is never confirmed.
      Sometime the studies prove the theory wrong.
      So in the end, having ONE guest is a good thing. But it still have to be peer reviewed. If you stick with a theory and only one expert, you may still be wrong. And time passing, new thing discovered, you may still be wrong in the future.
      Science truth is a complex thing :)

    After 4 years I came to the conclusion that most fitness influencers are kinda full of shit nway. Sure some will give great tips for your form and what not (like you) but past that it not rocket science. 50% of the job is simply being constant.. 30% is your nutrition/sleep.. the other 20% would be your training routine. Thing is if you listen to many influencers it feel like they all ran out of content a decade ago and try to min/max stuff that 99% of peoples who workout dont even need to bother with (like... unless you do the first 80% properly.. min/ maxing how you do a certain exercices pretty much wont matter nway).

    Answer this question...lets say i have an 8 hour feeding window each day...how many meals should i eat...3 or 4? I am 250lb 6' natural bodybuilder in my mid sixties..Also should i shoot for 240 grams of protein per day? I also heard and i know by experience i can digest 80 grams of protein per meal...but would it be best to have 4 meals at 60 grams of protein per meal or 3 meals at 80 grams?....of coarse with 4 meals i would have to eat every 2 hours and 3 meals every 2.7 hours...So which would get best results for average person? It seems everyone talks about how to train for best gains but no one explains best way to eat for optimal body recovery...which to me is 80% of the gains equation..😊

    • @lloyd4011
      @lloyd4011 Месяц назад

      3 or 4. Comes down to preference. I personally would go for 3 in an 8 hour window because I would not feel like eating the fourth meal, and it would likely drop off occasionally. Smaller frequent meals has been touted as most optimal for numerous reasons. But sometimes most optimal can lead to most likely to fail, so it is a balancing act.

    Treating soft sciences like hard sciences irritate me to no end. There are so many factors not being taken account for and 80% of the studies have statistical errors. Just the environment or the belief or the energy in the room can skew a result and besides that on an individual basis you are not going to get an accurate result. I say take all the advise or fad scientific study and try them out and see if it works for you.

    • @Scientificsnitch
      @Scientificsnitch Месяц назад +10

       I don’t speak in specifics because most people don’t understand.. how insulin is transphosphorylated which phosphorylates insulin receptor substrate 1 which interacts with the p85 subunit which interacts with p110, activating the pi3k which phosphorylates a minor phospholipid called pip-2 converting it to pip3 which phosphorylates pdk1 which phosphorylates akt that is also phosphorylated by mtorc2 which phosphorylates as160, which binds glut4 vesicles, once phosphorylated, as160 is released allowing glut4 channels to be transported to the cell membrane to allow glucose transport (glucose uptake)
      For a muscle contraction, a signal is sent from the motor cortex to the spinal cord, depolarizing a motor neuron to release acetylcholine, once acetylcholine stimulates a given motor end plate, this depolarizes the sarcolemma, triggering calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, calcium binds to troponin, displacing tropomyosin, allowing myosin to bind to actin (thin filament) allowing for a muscle contraction.
      Muscle growth occurs when pulling tension (mechanical tension) pulls the nucleus causing nuclear flattening, opening the pores of the nucleus, allowing yap/taz transcriptional coactivators to enter the nucleus and activate transcription of growth factors in mesechymal progenitors, this stimulates specialized muscle stem cells called satellite cells to proliferate with low myod expression which stimulates satellite cells to integrate into existing, loaded muscle cells to increase the size of the muscle. Conversely, when a muscle cell is pulled to rupture or is overloaded with calcium, the cell will lyse and the remains of the dead cell are cleaned up by inflammatory macrophages; through the injury process specialized muscle stem cells are triggered to proliferate with high myod expression which triggers satellite cells to differentiate into a whole new muscle cell
      Myod is a differentiation transcription factor
