@@Bobspineable when a premium vehicle is better than its tech tree counterpart and it is nearly top tier, it's bad. You shouldn't have better premiums even in midtier imo - cus then you get the whales that played the game since alpha, buy all planes and dominate an entire BR.
For example if we got a premium F-5 or F-14 for USA top tier would be dominated by them.

Hmm, I kind of disagree. The airspawn can carry the plane to a few easy early game kills since it has excellent climb rate from sea level to 3km's, but the plane loses a tremendous amount of horsepower above 3km's. It's not possible to reach anywhere near its max speed above that point, rendering you much slower than most aircraft at the higher altitudes, on top of being a very heavy aircraft giving it poor sustained maneuvering/low speed capabilities.
The plane is one of the best attackers in the game because nothing can catch it on the deck at its BR short of coming out of a dive, and if you play for speed, making wide passes over ground targets, looping back to base, you will be untouchable - it reaches its max level speed at sea level, whereas other planes are very slow down there. Likewise, many get greedy and try to chase you anyways, which baits them low, and even if they don't, air battles become lower in altitude over time making it easy to grab a few kills later in the match without bleeding much speed.
It's the first plane I aced through just playing it, and in the times I did use it like a fighter, it felt like wasted potential than using it as a fast, almost cruise-missile, sort of attacker playstyle.

The yak 15 is a struggle bus in a 7.7, but anything from 7.3 to 6.3 it’s pretty fun, especially being able to outturn f2g1’s

This video made me realize I'm one of those guys that does the weird "not a head-on" maneuvers. I vow to change my ways.
To be honest, that's about the only thing you can do when in a plane that just isn't good at headons or when you are, but you can't get a good angle. (The La-5FN doing the not-headon twice in the first half was clearly aware of his plane being the former)

Nothing wrong with the A2D where it is as far as I'm concerned. I have a 4kd with it, the plane has a stupid climb rate and has awesome survivability when played correctly. Plus US 20's :)

Individually, the Wyvern is not too big of a threat, but against one supported by people who know what they're doing like that first game while your teammates don't? I don't think so.

The only bad thing about it is the role rate, and you can always go 2 circle.

Flying out the Dyson purely as a groundpounder is easier than ever now. But it's satisfying to get those rare matches where you leave your bombs behind, climb, and everyone flies right through your sights trying to get to other 'more dangerous' planes, leaving you free to zip through dogfights and take a few tunnel-visioners off your team's tail. Usually though you just get focused hard by 3-5 fighters, and it just takes one hitspano failure to end up overwhelmed. You can always run, though, and all four of the mouthbreathers WILL dive to the deck trying to catch you, allowing an equal number of equally dense teammates to swoop in, full-commit, and trade with them. Sigh and reclimb.
And excellent eradicator of space climbing German bombers farming crates for the event, XP50 works quite well for this too
I unlocked the XP50 in the warbond shop and I love it. First game I ever played in it I got 2 kills and 1 assist.
The Wyvern is a gem, I've been playing it a lot lately due to the 4.3 and airspawn.
You should try the F3D-1, it's in the same kind of situation with the airspawn. Very fun.
F3D is kinda useless though because of the Me262 airspawn? It's basically a flying brick compared even to the F-84 that also has airspawn and is more fun (except for the part where it sometimes gets to fight MiG-15s and Sabres)
@@freyawion5337 F3D easily deals with F84's, the 84 is only good for top speed. Useless at turning and accelerating.
Compared to the 262 it's not as easy, but definitely possible. I have no problems using the F3D, it's a really good turn fighter, and has decent energy retention.

@@_SavageMcCabbage idk for me the problem is that I just can't get guns on target whatsoever. And if I do I get immediately swept up by a 262 or an SK60.
@@freyawion5337 Yeah, that's fair. They are mounted underneath, and do require extra leading. I find if you're struggling against 262's or SK's, get a bitta altitude. I've found that the F3D does relatively well against other jets at altitude. I've even caught Ar-234's at 7000-8000m, which surprised me
Today I was flying the Wyvern and I had some help from teammates, but in the end I was left only against a A6M5 and XP-50, but they kept heading on with me and after a while they didn't turn enough and I both got them. 6 kills in an air rb match with a Wyvern thank u very much.. It works great at 4.3 and it became way better with the airspawn which it got back, which it really needed

the wyvern is a great plane however one thing you need to remember you cant just point at someone and expect to win since if they do take the head on you are a massive fuel tank that will never be put out and your tail acts like a bombers and will be shredded apart. you need to sideclimb after bombing a base to get behind the enemy and if you are luring people down to your level stay far away horizontally as most planes will go 100mph faster than you in a dive and keep that speed for 1 or 2km so you have to stay 3km horizontally so they try to catch you but cant, from there if they are a 190 try to bring them to teamates as while you do outrun them you barely go faster meaning you need to be a ridiculous 4 km away to turn towards them and even then when you finish turning they are already firing, and 4km on them is hard as they only go like 20mph slower, other than that great plane with premium it will make its sl cost back from a single bullet hit or 1 base bombing for profit which you will always get off gives you anywhere from 12k sl to 20k sl and 2.5k research points

Given the current state of the game and its numerous issues, I don't really see a plane like the Wyvern as anything other than near the bottom of that hugely long list. As said yourself Spit_flyer the plane needs a fair few things to work together for the plane to do better than average. A solid pilot, a stupid opponent, a situational advantage, and a team that's still alive and willing to help out. That's a host of things that rarely come together in a given game to make the Wyvern anything but an sl/rp pinata. I assume the title is due to an unhappy fixation on your dislike of strike fighter spawns. If the majority of the community flew like you, it'd be a real issue, that however isn't the case.

Spit_flyer, I normally tend to agree with you but on this one I will have to disagree. Wyvern loses a lot of its power above 3km becoming vulnerable. You were lucky in many situations you showed and most of the time you would be dead. That doesn't mean you can play like this every game and get away with it.

i test flight that plane and completely destroyed all the ai plane in the map in such a short time and accelerate so fast. no wonder why i keep getting killed from that thing and most of great britain player use it even got a team full of them
The D20 is so profitable right now (810% Sl modifier). Axis teams are usually just bombers right now, and after killing the fighters you can just become a CAS fighter and farm ground targets and get the full western front experience. Easily net 100k sl per match.
Am I missing something? I don't have anywhere near the flight performance shown in this video.

It's kinda useless? It's only purpose is to intercept bombers, and if you want to be a heavy fighter just get a P-38.
@@freyawion5337 Useless? It gets a nice air spawn. Has radar. Can bomb and destroy bases. Can ground pound. It gets to altitude faster than anything in it's BR. t's an amazing plane.
@@TTaikodom bombers can bomb bases better. attackers can groundpound better. interceptors like the P-38 can intercept bombers better and not be completely useless for anything other than groundpounding when all bombers are dead. radar is useless in RB (although very useful in sim).

I find it odd that most people try and use the Wyvern as a fighter. Sure, the cannons are good for shredding planes but where this plane really stands out is Ground Attack.
A shallow dive from airspawn and you can outrun nearly anything that sees you on your way to bomb a base. The 3 bomb loadout makes short work of most of them. Then you can farm ground units and make the occasional BnZ.
But the Wyvern doesn't BnZ like a 190 etc. No, the Wyvern makes a BnZ horizontally. At 600 on the deck, you can make a quick pass on anything at your altitude. By the time they recover from their evasive manoeuvres (and providing you fly in a straight line) they cannot touch you.

Uhhhh... None? Maaaybe some US attackers like the Skyraider or the Mauler but they are purely attackers. In playstyle I'd say Hellcats but they don't have airspawn.
Maybe the F3D or Pe-3bis? Idk, there aren’t many good strike aircraft that aren’t premiums, and the Wyvern has a pretty unique playstyle.

@@freyawion5337 Even though it’s premium and from an event, I prefer the TIS MA over the Pe-3bis because it just has so much more going for it with MUCH better guns for ground pounding and killing aircraft, the same engines, better ordinance, and a good back gunner set up that is only slightly worse than the Pe-3bis but on a more maneuverable and energy conservative platform. I wish more peope would’ve and could’ve gotten it.
F 82 it's a fighter but can carry a huge payload.
Take a look at the F84s, they are in the same spot as this plane IMO

This plane pisses me off so much. It’s a tier 4 premium but rated at 4.0 so I have to face it in the XP-50. Two matches in a row fighting this thing. One of them literally took my entire wing off with ONE round. Next match another one got a SINGLE round in my right engine and the thing burst into flames and wing again decided “fuck it I’m gone” and broke off two seconds later. I know the XP-50 is made out of paper but still..
For reference. ALL other tier 4 British planes are in the 5.0-6.0 range. This one is a full BR lower than every single tier 4 plane in the tree it comes from. That shit is not right.

Maybe you could show us how to dodge properly when someone tries to force a head-on and you don't want to take it?
It's pretty easy. You just wait for them to shoot. The moment you hear their guns start to fire, you just go to maximum axis on your elevator and allerion and you'll do a nice corkscrew around their shots without giving them time to adjust their aim. This changes a bit when you're playing high tier jets and bullets reach you basically AS you hear them fire, but by then you should be experienced enough to predict when they're shooting. It also isn't as reliable when you're at super low tiers (basically bi-planes) because people have insane maneuverability and are going so slowly that they can adjust to meet your change in direction. Other than that though, it'll work beautifully for 90% of your gameplay.
Anyway, this can take a bit of getting used to since every plane responds a bit differently, but once you've mastered it you'll never have to worry about dying in a head on
Note: This requires you to have your control axis bound to keyboard buttons in addition to the regular mouse aim controls. I typically use WASD

I don't think it's 'wrong' to use it as an attacker just because it can be used as a boom and zoomer.
Especially when most people will be able to get far more points groundpounding rather than hunting players.

Ok are actually pretty shit in tanks from about 3.0-7.7 then there is radar guided SPAA and all CAS is pretty balanced until 10.3 where Helis are a little too strong and planes just suffer suffer suffer

Wish Gaijin made it possible to pick planes, AA and helos on higher BR like in Naval AB. You can bring your own plane/AA/helo and get kills with that or you could get a plane from a preset that is about 2/3 of the way to spaded. Also make all of them available right from spawn so if you didn't pick cas/aa you can't whine about it being OP cus you did that intentionally.
The Wyvern is so easy, just stay low and level and keep speed and nothing can get near you.
And the second the wyvern turns around or has to lead a target it's trying for, it blows all of it's speed is an easy target. If you are having trouble killing the wyvern... Problem is you.
