But are there Z Fold 4 battery issues that you should worry about? Or have Samsung done a good job with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 8+ chip? Long time Apple user but I've tried almost all Samsung phones... Ended up alwyas returning to Apple. I now switched everything to Samsung (Fold 4, Tab S8 Ultra, Watch 4 classic) and no turning back. With the Fold 4 I feel like I truly have something different than the usual slab... Happy so far

You will be coming back my friend, Apple's ecosystem, intergenerations, OS optimization, hardware and simplicity is leaps and bounds ahead what can be offered on an Android platform. Your gadgets have some 2 year lifespan before they're dropped from the update cycle and at that point you basically have 2K+ phone with 2021 features and capabilities, and once they start pushing more updates it's gonna end up slowing your phone down to being laggy and sluggish thanks to non-existant hardware-software optimization between Android devices and the OS.
Ditched my iPhone 13 Pro max for this beast! Loving the big screen for my RUclips and Netflix and camera is amazing! It has been 48 hrs and I'm not regretting one bit 😍🥰
Wow!! I have to say, it has replaced a lot of my iPhone stuff already. I know I will have to cover the new iPhone for the channel but this phone is here to stay, really happy with it!

Wow, thanks Andrew! That really means a lot to me, I am just a small channel and doing everything myself so hearing this means a heck of a lot. It's very tempting to sit at my desk and just chat about how amazing the specs are, but I prefer actually going out and using the device as much as possible.
Having watched just about every Fold 4 video on RUclips I was pleasantly surprised by yours. It brought something new to the table and did give a much more realistic use case / real-world user review. I have a Fold 4 and have also moved from an iPhone (13 Pro Max in my case) and the Apple ecosystem. It's not just the immediate ecosystem issues that I've encountered which cause trouble. I have also found myself somewhat in the "out group" as the rest of my family use Apple devices. I am now one of those green bubble people. Trying to get my brother (now living in Tokyo) to download WhatsApp so we can continue to share pics and vids of our families makes me seem like an imposition. People look at me like I'm being selfish by not continuing to use an iPhone. Oh well, I'm loving the Fold 4 and Apple will need to do something really amazing for me to go back. Now I just need a new watch and new ear buds...

I don't think there is a phone like this because it's a phone that I mainly use on my back.
I had a lot of trouble between iPhone and Fold 4
Choosing Fold 4 was a better choice.
Thanks to the upper system of the 8th generation 1+ chipset, I didn't feel any stuttering while using it, and many of the heat issues were resolved.
Compared to the iPhone, there are some shortcomings in terms of chipset performance and software, but
It provides sufficient experience for practical use.
If the usability and screen of the fold are right, there is no phone like this.
If you want the world's best foldable phone, I think you should choose the Fold 4 without looking back.
The design and color are really nice
Also, if you see the performance of tsmc's 8th generation 2+ chipset that will be mounted on s23 this time, I'm looking forward to how good fold5 will be.

Great review!🦋 I've been using iPhone ever since I remember. Three years ago I got curious, so I bought the first Galaxy Fold which really upset me with the incapability to use the tiny front display and got a really bad camera system. I just didn't get the idea of being mobile with it and it definitely wasn't worth the money at all. Got back to iPhone after a week, until I visited the Unpacked experience at Picadilly this August. I got so surprised how the phone improved over time. Spent literally four hours at the venue playing with it 😅, ended up buying it two days later. Although it was a bit tough to switch from the whole Apple ecosystem, I found myself with something new, fresh and innovative in my hand at last! I guess I got tired of buying the same phone every year over and over again 🤷♂😁 LOVE MY NEW GALAXY FOLD 4!! 😍😍🤩

Glad you gave this phone a try, and found out what the rest of us with folds already know. Once you use a fold, especially the fold 4, you can't help but love it, and don't want to go back to the candy bar.
Right?! Incredible. I know there's an iPhone coming out and I will no doubt cover it on the channel, but the Fold is the one I am more excited about to be honest. Loving it!
Owned the Fold 4 since the second day it came out and love love it. Yes, it's a bit bulky in your pocket, I find myself holding it when I walk more than in my pocket now. Other than that it's amazing and really do use it in different ways than any other phone I've had. Taking notes in meetings with the S Pen is great. watching videos on planes is more compact and easier than using my large laptop on the food tray. Readying Word and Excel files and actually being able to work on them a bit on the go is easy and very functional. And multitasking with two apps up at the same time is usable as well. I find the battery capacity shockingly good and I've yet to run it down to 0 during a work day. The lowest I've got is about 19% and that's while using it all day and by about 8pm it was down to 19%. Once this phone a couple generations from now becomes as thing as a typical phone I don't see why anyone wouldn't buy a folding phone. To me the added bulk is the only reason to not have one, oh and maybe the high price tag.
My teenage daughter of course laughed about my giant phone and wondered why I didn't get the new iPhone until the other day she picked it up, unfolded it, and started taking a look through various social media apps and then said, "wow, this actually is pretty cool, I really like this". That takes a lot for a teen apple die hard to accept.

I'm fold 3 user upgraded to fold4 and the folds still bring great experience to me everyday like multitasking, note taking, read documents, write email and so on.. Fold3 was bad in battery life and fold4 is better, sufficient than before but not so great. It also didn't feel so warm like fold3 when heavy use. The only let down is still no built in spen and cannot use at cover screen. Whenever open the inner screen it always make my day 🦋.
Right?! I don't seem to get tired of it, it's such a cool phone to use. I kinda wish I'd gone for it sooner but glad I grabbed this one.
Will be busy talking about Apple for a few days because of the channel but this phone is going nowhere, it's definitely here to stay. It actually already replaced most of what I was using the iPhone for on a daily basis. Really nice!

I dont know if i should buy the 4 😞 i had fold 2 super awesome and everything but after 2 yeras phone just teared apart... battery inflated, screen was dying like for a phone that i paid that much im very dissapointed with quality
How are you feeling about the crease? I don't remember what my fold 3 crease looked new, but it's really bad after a year of use compared to a new one. I plan on storing my 4 open alot more in a safe spot to keep the crease like it is now. Folded only in my pocket from now on.

I switched from Apple way back after the 6+. I'll never go back. I started my Android journey with One+ and then moved to Huawei and then Donnie Dump outlawed those, so Samsung. I got the Note 10 and that was it. Moved to the Flip3 and now onto the Fold4. It's my fave of the bunch. Just outrageously powerful and perfect for me. Great video here.

Excellent, laid-back real life use video of the Fold4 demonstrating the features I am interested in, particularly the cameras and battery usage.
I've spent similar full days in London with older Samsungs, none have lasted anywhere near a day, needing the battery pack. 🦋

As a tech reviewer I recognise that it is easier for me to say it because I am never far away from an Apple or Android device but in reality people need to consider that ecosystem. I was tempted too but that battery life isn’t great and the interior screen is still a little worrying in terms of wear and tear. A friend has marks all over his from finger nails and even the S-Pen.

Powerhouse technology? LOL what? A phone with a creased screen. If Samsung really innovated they would've come up with a proprietary screen technology that has zero crease. The Samsung Crease 4 flip has poor battery life and so so cameras. Flame down on the Samsung fanboying.

🦋 I came for a phone review... and ended up on a journey... this review was incredible, honestly. I had my doubts about the fold 4 (namely the battery life and the crease in the center) but after seeing your review whenever i do upgrade from my s20 im definitely considering it now

🦋 Great review, man. Replaced my Z Fold 2 with a Fold 4 when my Fold 2's inner screen died shortly before Christmas. Easily the greatest smartphone ever made. 👍 iPhone is not a competitor.

Some cues that work wonders for me so far with the fold 4. 1) Try setting apps to deep sleep and keep important ones like mail and whatsapp active. 2) Disable 120hz to 60hz, I don't play games with high frame rates 3) Disable bluetooth when not in use
You can also change apps that drain battery from 'optimized' to 'restricted' mode under Apps in Settings. This doesn't affect performance in any noticeable way, but will help conserve battery.
I was sitting in starbucks with a friend while we were playing some graphic intensive diablo immortal yesterday. My friend is with his iphone 13 pro max while im using my z fold 4. Apparently, his 5G reception was really bad that he ended up using hotspot from my z fold 4 to play the game throughout. I thought that was really unfortunate since it was the supposedly best flagship phone from apple. No lag or any other issues with 5G for my fold 4. Btw, the battery for z fold 4 is amazing considering it drawing power on a large screen. Grateful for the efficency of the 8+ gen 1 snapdragon chipset!
That's the thing with some of these so called flagships, I've had so many problems witj call auality and 4G/5G... sometimes all we need is the basics to function really well.
@@AlexGTech We have the same carrier so definitely that isn't the problem. He is trying to get apple to fix the issue since his sim card is replaced but problem persists. Have u tried going back to apple to get it fixed? I see a lot of signal issues for the 13 pro series in apple discussion forum. Hope they can find a solution for this.
Apple are developing their own modem, as previous and current modems do not seem to play nice with Apple Silicon/iOS. I hear that may come next year. Apple knows that Intel and Qualcomm modems are all optimised well for Android and this was why thet developed their own chips, as previous chips (Samsung) were not great with iOS. It is a known issue and hoping the new modem in the iPhone 14 line has better support for iPhones.
i recommend using 4G, at least in the UK, where it is more stab le than the 5G modem. But, it is still not as good as it should be.

Not going to lie, I didn't know if I should get it or not. I really like the concept. But I have to agree it does look fun to use and comfortable. Cameras, yes for the price they could've done better, however unless you really take professional photos, the cameras on fold 4 will do just fine it seems🦋
Hi Alex! yes, it's a big price and there's definitely a novelty feel to it. I didn't buy it last year because it was nearly 2 grand here in the UK. With Samsung throwing some deals in this year it made a lot of sense. And I hear the price is already dropping in some countries so could be a steal for the right usage. For me, it's definitely here to stay.
There is a video by the Apple guys and gals comparing camera Fold 4, 22 Ultra, and IPhone 13 Pro Max and Fold tied or beat Ultra and beat iPhone. Look for it. You'll see great pics.
Just subbed. Beautiful videos! I ordered the Fold4 and after watching a few reviews on RUclips with many reviewers complaining of the weight and chore of opening and closing, I thought they were right - and stupidly returned it after two days of use and went back to my thin lightweight S21+
Now you have me regretting it! Do you think you will use the Fold 4 as your daily driver? 🦋
You aren't wrong Tony. It is indeed a very bulky brick of a device and you need both hands to open it, which I don't always have available. It's not for everyone, so don't feel bad if it wasn't for you personally. I often worry about damaging it, whereas I'd learned to trust my S ultra devices would be fine with minor drops or sand in my pocket. I'll be keeping it because it's better at being a Note than the actual Note series, but that does come with serious compromises. Enjoy your 21, that is still a fantastic phone. Sent from my ZF4.

@@mrtony3729 I'm sure you will enjoy it! It's got amazing cameras. I never really took photos much until I got that phone. And the battery life is incredible. A true 1+ day phone. None of this "lasts a day" but they mean an 8 hour work day, lol. It will really last you 24+ hours easily unless you're on it for work or something like a laptop replacement device (which you actually can do thanks to Dex).

For everything else, and I mean everything! Socials, entertainment, conference calls... I even tried Dex today and man, I need to make a video about that! Super cool device to use. I think because it's still quite new to me, I am obviously a bit more over excited than most but last time I felt like this was when I got the S21 Ultra funnily enough. Which I can't bring myself to get rid off. When Samsung nails it then really nail it.

I'm really intrigued with this phone. But being a regular consumer, I have the s22 ultra and right now, at best buy they are giving 1200 off with the s22 ultra for trade in. Now I know the s22 ultra is probably the best Samsung out, but I really wanna try this... besides maybe taking a hit in the camera department, is this pretty much the same thing
I had the s20 ultra and loved my phone. Still a beast of a phone but I made the jump to the fold and I love it. What I am most impressed with is the screens obviously but the durability of it. It feels solid and not flimsy at all. But the screens are a class all their own. Had it for a week and I don't think that opening a phone will ever get old.
I have to say, if you were in Europe I'd say stay away from the S22 ultra and grab this, purely because of how smooth it feels. But I know in the US you don't get Exynos on the S22 Ultra so you're probably right to choose that. Better camera and display is much of a muchness when watching content.
For me, there's probably a novelty factor to the Fold 4 as I never used a foldable before but honestly... it's here to stay. I will be busy covering the iPhone for a few days but this is already replacing a lot of what my iPhone 13 was doing on a daily basis. I love the camera on the S22 ultra though. Right now, it's pretty unbeatable, especially for portrait shots.
Exactly my feeling! I know as a tech reviewer I get to try different devices but I still need to do my personal stuff and my other job, and this device is already becoming my daily go to phone. That opening and closing is such a pleasure!

I have 5G turned off. Really seems to affect the battery on my 13 P Max. Being in a week signal area where the radios are constantly seeking really impacts the battery as well… 🦋🦋
I found more issues with 5G than I did with 4G. More lags. Some apps took longer to load up. Plus the battery life on the Z Flip4 would go from 100% to 32% in the blink of an eye.

You certainly know when people are worried about Apple's upcoming iPhone 14 taking away the thunder of this $1800 overpriced gimmick called the Samsung Crease. When viewers here go out of their way to mention Apple on a video that has nothing to do with Apple such as dumping their iPhone 13 Pro Max which has far better battery life, much better build quality to withstand 3X the water pressure if dropped in a pool or ocean and the great iOS. No worries if one prefers paying $1800 to be Sammy's guinea pig until they innovate the screen to a point there's no crease but when people bring up Apple they are worried.

just bought the fold 4 after traveling through london, paris, and barcelona for the last 14 days being assaulted by ads for it the entire time. heading back to the US where i’ll finally get to use it. great review!
They’ve been really aggressive on marketing here in Europe and pricing deals too. You’re gonna love it!
I am new to the fold design as well and I don't think I can go back to a candy bar phone for a long time. I typically use the battery protect function and only charge my phone to 85% and it still last though out my working day in real estate. I send emails, play games while waiting for clients, phone calls, hot spot for my tablet (if ever needed with the Fold 4) and youtube and music while working out. According to the graph, I charged it 9 hours and 33 minutes ago and I am still at 35%. The one thing I have noticed is as long as I don't use the big screen unnecessarily, the battery last longer, but who purchased this phone not to use that beautiful screen? 🦋🦋 Great video and I need to visit London one day.

IMHO, you are getting your money's worth especially if you are a first time Fold user. There's just a lot of things you can accomplish as well as explore in the Fold 4.
iPhone on the other hand is for those who are accustomed to classic phone use as it outperforms any competitor on that arena.
I have used both and I think the Fold 4 is just way more fun to use. You really feel you have a new device on hand. After the honeymoon period, I still love my Fold 4.
And as a side note, the trade-in deals offered by samsung as well as the bundles it offers are just too good. So I am not concerned that my device would be outdated come 2023 onwards, I can just trade it in and have a sweet deal again with the latest that Samsung can offer.
Thanks for the sub!! I agree, you’re getting a lot of value here with this device. You hit the nail on the head with the fun aspect. It’s more ergonomic than it seems and Samsung are being quite agressivo me in the pricing in a lot of markets.

I like the way you blog it's not too loud and noisy like the others and it's not too irritating to watch. I just have my Fold 4. 9 days old .... I had it during the pre-order sched and it was so cool ... it was my first time to buy a phone and had it pre-ordered and I was really happy for the freebies. 😁 Paid it in cash and I think it's the reason why I got an extra Buds Live 😁 I am a first time user of a foldable phone and I guess it's also a cool way of celebrating my 4th anniversary at work 🤣 I am still discovering the phone and thanks for the tip. I usually don't listen to what others think about the Fold 4 coz they said so much negative stuff about the phone which is not really a huge issue for me. So I am keeping my Fold 4 and I don't have any regrets though me and my phone is still in a getting to know each other stage 🤣
