      Lots of Apple fanboys were always bashing Android users for being cheap and unable to afford high end iPhones. Now that Samsung has come up with this foldable device, those same fanboys are crying it's too expensive, which it is. But I'm sure when Apple releases their own foldable phone, at a higher price, you think they wouldn't be purchasing it? Of course they will!

    I had the Z Fold 2 when it first came out. The battery life and lack of water resistance was the killer for me. The fold 4 fixes all of that. Battery life is great. Having a water resistant tablet that can easily fit in my pocket is incredible. From consuming content, playing games, doing work etc is just purely amazing. As long as the durability of the Fold 4 doesn't let me down (screen randomly breaking) then I'll be on the Folds for the next few years

I ended up removing mine (against samsungs recommendation) after it started to bubble and became an overall nuisance to work with. Since I've removed the screen protector I haven't noticed any signs of damage nor have I noticed any scratching after about 6 months of the screen protector being removed. I don't understand the concern for scratching on the inner display, I even tried to purposely scratch my display with my fingernails and still not a scratch on the thing!

    Welcome to the club. Been rocking my Z Fold 3 since last year at this time. I bought mine specifically FOR that huge screen - so I open it up every time I use it. I'm actually disappointed that Samsung messed with the size at all - unless they would have designed it at the size of an S-22 ultra when closed. I love being able to fit an iPad Mini-sized screen into my pocket and take calls on that same machine. I will be curious to see in comments if people actually continue to use the outside screen often. I simply don't. I have a car mount that hold's it in it's fully opened configuration, I have small phone stands that allow it to be fully opened on desks and tables in my house. I usually activate the speakerphone and open it up to talk to people anytime - unless I'm in public. And I prefer wireless earbuds so this thing really is opened almost all of the time. Once again - that is the very reason I purchased it! That big beautiful screen. If there is an adjustment, I guess it would be to accept that it needs to be on a charger more often than other phones. But to enjoy this wonderful screen - I made that lifestyle adjustment without any regrets or remorse. Got a SupCase that holds the S-Pen. Remote accessing a P.C. is awesome on this phone. Most enjoyment I've ever had with a phone! Not enough improvements to switch to the 4 from the 3 in my opinion so I'm looking forward to the Fold 5!

    I am a lifetime Android user, going back to the sliding google G1 phone in 2007.
    I'll admit iPhone was miles ahead until about 2012/13 time when Android got more serious players and stepped up the quality of smartphones and OS.
    I remember owning the Galaxy S4 in 2012/13 time and it was a phenomenal phone fir the time. Samsung packed in loads of features, albeit quite gimmicky! However the innovation was there to see.
    I have tried a few different androids but Samsung has been a mainstay since the Galaxy S6.
    I am now using the Z fold 4 and absolutely love it.. I would like to see better optimisation of apps on the inner screen, but otherwise it's an absolute phenomenal device! I moved over from the Note10 + and loved the S pen capabilities and I'm glad the Z Fold works well with the S pen.. although would be great to have it work on the outer screen.
    Great video, sorry for the ramble above! I have a lot of appreciation for Apple with regards to being trail blazers with the iPod, iPhone and iPad. That being said agree they have stagnated and are now miles behind the leading Android phone manufacturers.

    I also agree about the Apple watch and intend to keep using it. I'm using my Ultra Watch as my iPhone that allows me to leave the iPhone at home using the Ultra Cellular features to get my alerts and notifications in lieu of the Fold 4 notifications. OK, Apple announces the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Both phones are terrific but having just come off the iPhone 13Pro Max to the Z Fold 4, my use case on the 4 is quite different. I think both phones are great. Android 12 with the Samsung UI is now just as fluid as the iPhone with many more ways to customize the entire UI and use case, unlike the iPhone which locks you into their view of "perfection". And while I like iMessage, texting and messaging is just a utility in today's environment, blue bubbles or green bubbles. And with AirDroid and Samsungs Nearby Share, really no fundamental differences in file sharing. As a business user, I almost exclusively use ZOOM and Calendly which are superior over FaceTime in utility.
    I did love the iPhone. But with the Z Fold 4 I am no longer carting a tablet around along with my phone. Frankly, the tablet was most often left at the desktop or in my briefcase. No longer. And with my foldable bluetooth keyboard, a little larger than a ruler, I now have a complete typing and computing environment when the fold is opened. Office becomes Office and while the font is small, it is fully legible.
    With the pre-order deal, I got $900 for my iPhone and a very different and new device, the Watch 5 and a free set of Earbuds 2, all for about the cost of a stand alone iPhone 14 Pro Max.. So, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a terrific piece of kit, the Z Fold 4 is a more advanced piece of technology. And with a "tablet in the hand" and the transition back to Android for all my connected devices, the ecosystem question is, for the most part, moot! Oh and did I say that the Watch 5 is titanium with a sapphire crystal face and additional temperature sensors all for the price of about 40% of the expected iWatch Premium? And after using iPods and now the new Earbuds 2, I really don't see any difference.
    So in the end, I think Samsung has outdone themselves. And while I love Apple, the Z Fold 4 has a business case that exceeds that of the current Apple line. While I have only had my Z Fold for about 2 weeks, I won't be going back anytime soon. But I also won't be bad mouthing Apple. It's just that I now have the ecosystem that Android always promised but didn't deliver. And that has been delivered by Samsung! The Z Fold 4, the Watch 5 Pro and the Earbuds2 Oh and did I say that was all released on August 10th?
    Anyway, thanks for your video. And I would encourage Apple users and fanboys to really look hard at the Z Fold 4. It is a refinement on the Z Fold 3 and is a terrific business tool.
    10

    I loved the fold 4 but i ended up dropping it for the S22 ultra.
    The lack of good cases, as well as all of them needing adhesive to stick sucked. I also wish it had the S pen slot included. Not a dealbreaker for a lot of people but coming from a note 10 + the S22 ultra felt better.
    I will still say, I have my eye on this device now. I may very well get a fold 5 when they drop if the experience continues to innovate. Amazing piece of tech.

    • @TheRealCoyote

      I completely understand your thinking coming from apparently very similar position. I read reviews, played with the devices in stores and just could not make up my mind. S22 ultra, Fold4,Flip4, or something completely different??? I once said "I'm never buying a phone without stylus" and that is still something I vouch for. I don't use it all the time, but when I need it, it's so brilliant to have. Not having it included and inside the device was the biggest doubt for me regarding the Fold 4. Yeah and the price. But I saw a review of cases with i-Blason armor case getting good reviews and loved the industrial/military look. Fast forward 1 month and my Note 10+ media speaker died, 2 week later the stylus remote function stopped working. At 4+ years but working perfectly I still paid 100 to get it fixed but the stylus remote functionality could not be fixed without a new display... No thanks. So I was bummed but decided to keep using it and save money. Aaaaand then I got a very handsome tax return, apparently I had been paying too much tax. Go figure. Long story long (sorry), here I am with Fold 4 +i-Blason armor case+S-pen. Yes it makes it big, but I'm a big guys with big hands so I really don't care and love the phone. I took 2 year insurance for it just in case so I feel I'm covered well in to the future 🙂
      Ps. I don't think you can go wrong with S22 ultra, it's a fantastic device! And so sleek and pretty. But I've always been a tech geek and a media heavy user so the folding display was unresistable for me.

    My two main reason for switching to Samsung is the multi-tasking and writing on the screen, I love taking quick notes. Speaking of prices is it not almost the same price as the iPhone Pro Max, so I don't know why people think it's too pricy plus it's a foldable phone, I don't even want to imagine what apple will price a folding phone. When it comes to pictures I have been out with friends with iPhone 11,12, and 13 but they always prefer the photos from my z fold 3, so I am always the camera guy, if the Z fold 4 had wider screen, and inbuilt pen plus the s22 camera, I will switch to the 4 without thinking twice.

    I agree with some of the things you said about Apple’s devices like the multitasking feature on Samsung phones but up to a certain extent. But Apple is certainly not trying to figure out how to make that work. They must have tried it and decided not to proceed with it on iOS because of awkwardness with certain apps. I think I would agree with them too because splitting up a 6.1” screen would not allow you to enjoy any kind of content and copying/pasting/etc can still be done smoothly between apps. Handoff and universal control makes working between devices near perfect and that is something you cannot enjoy on Windows - Samsung devices. Of course, I do wish for a few more people to switch over to Android and not the other way around so that they’re constantly going to innovate and improve.

    Nice video, however very exaggerated when comparing it with the Z Fold3, bearing in mind it's also received the Android 12L update.
    I find the minor upgrades very disappointing and honestly barely noticeable even when held side by side, besides maybe the battery, the Z Fold 4 is still in its infancy for any real battery consumption comparisons as Samsung is known for its steep battery degradation over a short period of time.

    Good to see someone is leaving the dark side behind, at least partially. You just don't know it yet, but you'll also put your Mac aside once you get used to a modern OS with touch and stylus support such as Windows. This Airdrop obsession must be something Apple-user specific. Windows/Android users have been able to transfer videos without loss of quality for years, in particular Galaxy owners.

      Lol how many people care about touch and stylus support on a laptop? I've tried laptops from the Surface to Thinkpad, Razer, and Dell XPS, working with both Windows and Linux on many of these. As a data scientist, I found none of that was anywhere close the UX, performance-power efficiency, Unix compatibility, and reliability that Macbooks currently offer, despite some downsides. Regardless of your profession, I don't agree with blindly fanboying for Apple, but being blindly anti-Apple is just as dumb.

    • @arvandvarahram
      @arvandvarahram Год назад +4

      @@Charonic Well, I have been using stylus and touch since ever under Windows. I write tons of documentation. Try to annotate with a mouse instead with an stylus ... this is just painful. This has nothing to do with being anti-apple:; these features are just normal in 2022. I was a Linux administrator for years, but I would never say Linux/Unix would be superior to Windows, whether you are a data scientist or not. We are in 2022 and no longer talking about Windows 95 stability! Heck, Windows comes even out of the box with a Subsystem for Linux. When did you use Windows last time?

    • @Charonic
      @Charonic Год назад +1

      @@arvandvarahram I used Windows until I switched to the 14" Macbook Pro in late 2021. I think for development, having a Unix compatibility is essential for a good experience... I think many programmers / data scientists will back me on this. WSL is definitely functional, but not satisfying. The performance-to-power ratio and day-to-day reliability on the Macbook is unmatched.
      I have written notes on the Surface, which is the only case where I found the writing experience to be acceptable on Windows. Otherwise I'd rather just type or go back to pen and paper. I really don't see my laptop as a writing tool, nor do I really want to touch the screen -- this is speaking from experience. I wonder if the Z Fold 4 will be sufficient on a pinch.
      I really appreciate hearing about your use-case for Windows laptops! Definitely understand where you are coming from. I imagine that for work, using Windows to write and touch is a perfectly functional experience, although I'm not convinced that it is a pleasant one. My reply earlier is just meant to be a reminder that your user experience priorities won't necessarily be the case for everyone.
