Samsung have ordered all of there parts to be reduced is size and weight for the fold 5 because they want the fold thinner lighter and include the S-Pen. They tried this year but was not able to fit the S-Pen in there without making it thicker which they are not willing to do. So hopefully they can achieve that this year.

Great review. I love my Fold 4 and there's nothing like a big screen. I broke down and traded the Fold 3 and haven't regretted it. That few mm difference on the front screen does stand out. Everything you've described are true. Apple keeps talking about their foldable future but hasn't done anything. Apple must be dissecting the Fold 4 to see what they can copy then put a patent on it and claim it's theirs!

@@AlexGTech I can't wait for Samsung to bring out their rollable phones. The amoled display are so thin and flexible that rolling it will eliminate the crease altogether.
I've had the Fold 4 since launch day and love it. Yes, it's too bulky and heavy, absolutely. But once you use it and get use to it I could never go back to a non-foldable phone. It's amazing. You can run productivity apps and they are useful because of the big screen. The two main issues, 1) it's too bulky when folded, awkward in your pocket and 2) for all it's size they should have squeezed a storage slot for the pen. Other than that, the Fold 4 is amazing.
Agreed on the pen! I wish I still got it at launch and made use of that free S-Pen anyway, but hoping the F5 brings a built-in pen, hopefully not compromising on the design

Apple is interested in getting as much money out of your pocket as possible. They want you to get a phone and a tablet, not an all in one device.
if Apple was to fuse iPhone and iPad into one device, it’ll take about 50yrs. Ever thought of that?! Not to mention, it’d cost about $25K

I use a fold 1 and 2 (got them cheap secondhand). It is absolutely game changing to have a foldable phone. I speak as a corporate professional, not just a techie enthusiast: The price may make it look like a luxury toy, but I can honestly say that the form factor brings tremendous practical benefits: better holding ergonomics, sound and display quality, workstation (Dex) and readability for documents, PowerPoints, stock charts.... Absolutely critical as a professional. I daresay the future is definitely in foldables, just a matter of bringing the price down to low 1000$ and it's a tremendous value for the professional market.
There was time when corporations handed out Blackberry to employees as trusted devices. Apple was not really considered a corporate device. Now, iPhones are handed out as primary device. Imagine, corporations handing out Z Fold devices in the near future? 😉😊

I'm about to get one of these, so I have been watching a lot of reviews on RUclips. I've really enjoyed yours, thank you. One of the funniest/strangest things I've noticed on all the reviews - though perhaps this says more about me than the reviews themselves - is that literally none so far have even mentioned making calls with this device. I assume you only make calls with it closed? Is it heavy when using it for calls? Anyway, thanks again and also thanks for the tip on the car mount too.
Awesome vid! I am actually using the Z Fold 3 from last year still. Did not go for an upgrade this year. Fold 3 after the update to One UI 5 is actually doing better than how it was before too. 😁
Oh nice! Thank you, yeah from the Fold 3 to Fold 4 it's probably not worth an upgrade, maybe wait till the Fold 5 which will probably feel like a bigger jump. Also, if it's working alright now with the OneUI update, then no need to change 😎
I was hesitant to go the Fold route but for the most part I have to say its been my favourite phone so far. Unfortunately my one has been back to samsung twice already for for repairs with a faulty inner screen needing replacement and the odd glitch here and there. However I do really enjoy using this phone more than I have with previous phones. I have to agree with this review. Cheers
Such a shame about the screen issues you had, but glad you’re getting it sorted. It’s certainly not for everyone but for me, it’s 100% the best phone I’ve seen in a long while

For almost 3 months using the z fold 4, i would say, it is super amazing. I also use it naked 😂.
But I bought skin for £11. It feels very luxurious. As an IT dude who works sometimes outside and play games, this is so perfect. The dex mode, the big screen, the frontscreen which I really like, the sounds, etc. Only the battery wont last long as my IP14PM. But its good for 6-8 hours of use.
I also thought the same about my fold 4. Last week, my cover screen stopped working. I have tried all of the hard restarts with no luck. Good luck with yours
Great video, Alex! As usual, comprehensive and spot on. I switched to the Fold 4 a few months ago as I was tired of the same form factor over and over. I was worried about the size, but it feels smaller in my pocket than my S21+. Great for travelling, multitasking, video and gaming, and still wireless charges! I always hear...break out the big screen so we can all see😆.

@@AlexGTech strangely enough it seems like nobody that I have showed the fold to really cares about it they kind of look at it for like two seconds and then they hand it back like oh yeah that’s cool ironically enough they all have iPhones so that’s not surprising I think they have been conditioned to expect so little out of a smart phone that they just think every smart phone is the same and should be the same.
Strangely enough exactly like the original poster said the phone seems smaller and easier to handle when it’s folded and when it’s unfolded it’s like perfectly balanced and actually feels lighter than a regular phone it’s way easier to use than a regular phone is considering it’s not super tall and weird aspect.
I think the perfect solution would be to make the phone just a little bit bigger maybe make it as big as the S 22 while it’s folded but also wider so it retains the 4 x 3 aspect ratio I think they should make an ultra version of this phone like an 8 inch or 8.5 inch version then it would truly be able to replace a tablet on the go.
I would pay an extra 400 bucks for a bigger fold with better cameras and bigger powder display it would literally solve every issue in the folder if they came out with an ultra version
do you wireless charge all the time? i keep thinking its going to degrade my battery
@@fasn279 I leave it on the wireless charger every night with always on displayed and rarely need to charge during the day. I have not seen any degradation of the battery that I can tell.

It's an awesome phone. You won't regret it, go get one.
Putting a case on mine was what made me feel confident using it. It's too slippery and flimsy otherwise. I tried skins, (dbrand matte black but didn't like the feel much). So it's sitting in a ringke matte black and I'm slowly starting to transition from my iPhone 12 Pro Max as a trial with more confidence since I no longer feel like the the thing is so slippery and about to shatter on its first fall.
I feel like reserving the next upgrade from S22 Ultra till the days of Fold5. I need to extend my experience from Fold4 to a little bit higher

Excellent review. I have the S22 Ultra and I love the fact that you use Samsung Dex and I am one of those people that use Dex on a daily basis for everything from entertainment to productivity. The Samsung Fold series is at a stage where I think it has matured enough and ironed-out the kinks for me to consider it and thanks to review, I might just upgrade to the Fold when I next upgrade... Cheers.
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you mentioned Dex! It's such an underrated feature right!? They have certainly refined it enough now and it seems very durable after 4 months of usage. I am very careful with it but still, my Pixel 7 Pro already has more micro scratches on it than the Fold!
I'm reluctant to move away from a Samsung phone in large part due to Dex. I use it for study & entertainment, connecting my phone to a 34" ulta-wide monitor to watch a movie is so bl00dy handy.
I love my fold 4 it is my 3rd fold! And I too prefer using the phone naked but I do have a minimalist see-through case but I dropped my phone at work and it wasn't good so make sure you are extra careful! Keep up the good work!
Such a great phone right?! Yeah, I am pretty clumsy myself so if I take it on longer trips like to public transport and lots of walking outside, then I will put a case on. But in my studio and at home, it;s pretty safe and always on soft surfaces.
I've had my Zfold 4 for a few months know in the grey green and dont regret it its a awesome phone it does everything i need and it even made me get the $4.99 towards NFL+ so i got games everywhere with me and all the multitasking i need with my S Pen as i got a beefy case from armadillo case and it makes peace of mind on the protection if you want to go fold do it you wont regret buying this beast

Thank you! It’s such an underrated feature! It works so well now, almost flawless. There’s still a couple of apps that don’t play well but they’re always getting better on Dex
@@AlexGTech I got a feeling the in 5 or less years Samsung will have a folding or roll out screen phone that's also an 8" tablet and DEX will be at a place where it works as well as a Chrome book or low end windows PC. Giving Samsung a one device that does everything product. It's going to change how every company does computers and mobile devices from that point on.
Great video Alex. I totally agree, the Fold 4 is hands down the best phone I have owned. There is nothing that Apple or any other that I have owned comes close to it. I love it! The same is true of the Tab S8 Ultra and the GW 5 Pro.

Great personal thought & review Alex. I'd love to own the galaxy fold as it is a phone & a mini tablet. Now I wish samsung will put more effort on their galaxy book but with dual screen like surface neo. I just love dual screen technology (like Nintendo DS).

Awesome video! Where did you get that lock screen and wallpaper? I love how it opens when you open the phone.
I use mine without a case as well. The whitestone dome has a camera protector included that don't have glass over your lenses. I love these types because there's no extra glass to affect camera quality. And when the phone is rested on it's back it's not resting on your camera lenses

I have mine in a Supcase case and it provides better grip and a screen protector included. I think the phone is to slippery without a case and I prefer to keep my phone safe and secure. I definitely recommend the Supcase military tested phone cases.
I notice how people forget You can use the rare camera as a selfie camera using the front screen as a preview screen. SO YOU GET TO USE THE MAIN CAMERA 50 MEGAPIXELS AS YOUR SELFIE CAMERA!! Can't do that with an iPhone or any other camera.
They seem to leave that test out out of all of the selfie comparisons.. if you can make a selfie with the back camera you need to count that as a selfie camera.

I personally love fold 4. I never got to use it, nor am trying to get it, but just from reviews, I just love what it has to offer. But I have concept of using my current mobile for 2 more years. I don't think spending money on phones every year is worth it, since am rocking sd888 phone. May be 2 years from now, when I can save enough, foldable will be my next device. Too all that who can't buy it now, don't stress and spend money on it. Save up, Christmas comes every year, so gift yourself one when you can afford ;)

Fab review. I've had the fold 4 since September last year. I've used it caseless since but I've taken advantage of the Samsung promotion and received the spen and case. What is the film you are showing clips from sir?
I've been using the 85% battery charge feature and I still get a day and a half of charge! If I charged it to 100%, I'm sure I would get 2 days of charge.

Im an iphone, ipad, airpods, and macbook users for 11 years. Been a week for me pondering if i should get this fold 4 but how it could fit in my apple ecosystem. Finally, sold my ipad last week! Bought this fold thing. And now for a week though, I feel great, andd the fold is much more useable in my case, due to its portability and convenience. For my usage, reading news, ePaper, pdfs, editing photos, analysing stocks, this thing is more useable🙂. I knw ipad is better for drawing and such, but im not an artistic type kindof guy, so for my personal use, it is perfect. Oh and regarding the ecosystem thing, I found a couple of useful tips for ios to android interconnectivity, first download SHAREIT, free apps for sharing cross platform. Secondly, open the icloud website from ur Fold, log in to ur Apple ID, and then put that iCloud shortcut logo onto your home screen on your fold, that way you can access your iCloud in just one quick from your home screen so that’s pretty much sold my concern about the interconnectivity (ios vs android)

Yes, if you use your Gmail account to sync your accounts then Google find my device will work. Samsung also have a Find my equivalent, using the Samsung Account.
@@MajSiddiqui Google and Samsung both have "Find my" alternatives, as well as alternatives for Airdrop(that are even faster in some cases) and everything else.

The biggest issue i find is image scaling, Samsung needs to optimise that.
Videos will alot of space on both sides, if you zoom in all the way unless its 4k not worth it also if it doesn't have everything in centre
Yes, one one hand I love the size of the display and how games work on it. On the other, I appreciate the S22 Ultra for example when watching content in that aspect ratio (without bars)

Great device! My only concern is about durability, there are still users with faulty devices. I myself have a fold 3 that gave up after a year and a half, it's now being repaired at Samsung, and it will apparently take 2 months to have it fixed, the screen is not in stock, so I'm back for now to my old trusty S10+, still going strong after 3 years, I assume there is still work to be done to have foldable devices lasting for years without any issues (Mom is still using his iPhone 6S, and my younger brother a Samsung J2 Prime)
I agree Wilson, this is not the finished article I don't think but it feels refined enough to be taken seriously. I guess time will tell, but so far it feels as sturdy to me as it did out of the box and with no scratches or screen issues (I am aware some people have not had the same luck)

My fold also felt sturdy as the first day (specially the hinge) What is funny is that the outer screen died, not the inside one, they showed me the flex cable tore and since it was fixed to the inner display board the only way to fix it was to have the whole inner screen replaced (they will use the same outer screen)
been using Fold 3 for 2 years now. I am so happy with this phone, I could never go back to any conventional smartphone..
I'm definitely a foldable convert!! It would be hard to choose between the fold and the S23 Ultra right now (I'm discussing that in my next video), but this phone is not going anywhere for me, absolute top class

I have a wish to change from the note 20 ultra to z fold. But as long its an expensive device, would you consider to take it right now if the price decreases? Or just wait for the next gent as long as we are going to the end of the year already?
Muito obrigado Lucas! I had a good teacher 🤣 (my wife) - I think if you can get a decent deal right now this would be an amazing upgrade. The new one will still be near $2K I think and what you get here feels like a very sturdy device. There have been some concerns about the hinge in the middle of the screen and how durable that is as a result but so far after 4 months of usage, it's amazing... As you can see it's holding up nicely. I do look after it very carefully though, I don't toss it in bags and always put it on soft surfaces like a desk mat. Um bom Natal pra você e sua família!
iphone 13 Show me how to set up a sound alert for missed calls or unread messages. Best of all, of course, some kind of light indication to display .. (except for LED flash) Like how it is implemented on android devices? If there is no way to do this in the system settings, can you recommend an application? Force of habit, but rather even convenience .. I would be grateful ..
I really have a feeling that the Fold 5 will bring some significant upgrades with more competition looming, esp with google in the US. Only reason why I will hold out for now. I wanna try a foldable so bad, kinda bored with my iPhone
You're going to have to wait for the Fold 6 for significant upgrades. Unfortunately that's how Samsung works. The upgrade was from the Fold 3 to the Fold 4. Don't expect any real upgrades until the Fold 6. Based on Samsung's pervious upgrades. They generally upgrade every two years. It's already rumored that the outside screen will stay at the same dimensions and the camera upgrades will not be game changing.
As for the s pen should have been included. BUT I LIKE IT BETTER THAN USING THE SMALL S PEN I HAD ON MY GALAXY NOTE 9 FOR A LONG TIME.. I got to Spigen case with the s pen holder that works fine.. I was initially upset that they didn't make it like the note series which they're going to do probably with a full 5
But now I'm so used to the bigger s pen so much more easier to use more comfortable it's worth having it on the outside in a case.
It is what it is. I guess they figure you have more of a tablet so you need more of a tablet pen.

I’m not sure you’re trying to be disrespectful but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I NEVER, not even once denied the crease being there. And maybe you missed this but I mentioned that holding the phone like that makes the speakers sound even better.

How long before a tablet? I had a failing iPad, was dying to replace it with a folding tablet for the last 2 years, and now i had to buy a new iPad. Maybe a foldable display device in two more years? Too late to get the coming inovo x fold that’s still not here, my budget was spent on the iPad.

I'm struggling to pick which phone to go for, I've always liked the look of the fold 4 but I'm hesitant as I've never used a folding device before, the 2 phones I have in mind to choose from is the Fold 4 and Pixel 7 Pro, certain aspects from both are drawing me in, I believe with a trade in offer I could possibly see the Fold 4 being closer in terms of price to the Pixel 7 Pro. I watch a lot of YT and could see the F4 being productive and great for media consumption, but on the other hand the aspect ratio and crease could get annoying.
I've also heard bad things about the Pixel 7 Pro, in terms of battery and that the device is susceptible to a lot of glitches and overheating issues. In your honest opinion what device would you choose or recommend? Thank you 😁
From personal use I'd say fold it really changes how you view content and if you buy directly from Samsung pending on what you trade in they are very generous.

I like most of Fold 4, except the battery life. I have to charge 2-3 times a day. I’m not a gamer. I used mostly for work and have used it for almost 3 months until I couldn’t tolerate the battery life and had to switch to iPhone 14 Pro Max. I missed the multitasking on Fold 4 but I wish the next gen battery is much better.
Probably something was wrong with your device. I'm a gamer and I can make it through the day with a single charge.
Whoa! 2-3 times a day feels like a lot but I am not a heavy user really. 14 Pro Max is great too, but I think the 13 Pro Max had a better performance on battery. It is getting better after iOS 16.2 update.
@@pascalneluvhada8108 Nah I have the service center checked the battery health too. It was much better when I first got it but then getting worsen after a little over a month-ish. I’m a heavy user too though I should have mentioned.
@@AlexGTech I was a heavy user as I used it as a main device for both work and personal plus I got rid of the iPad Pro M1 12.9 and used the Fold 4 instead. I still miss the Fold 4 and might got a used one again at some points.
I love folding phones ones like these but the middle line still makes me wait for the perfect fold to buy
Yes, that will come I am sure. It is beyond the 'experimental' now and definitely usable but every day you are reminded of the crease, not gonna lie

Absolutely! The front screen improvement is decent from the 3, but other than that I'd say the 3 is amazing still!
I love mine except for the texting on the front, it’s way too small and almost impossible to type fast enough to make it worth using.
Yes, I have sausage fingers and the front screen is only usable for quick checks and maybe watching something but not for texting

You know what is sad part about some of the new phones is that only a few can afford them and then there are those who go as far as get in debt to attain one and the question is what happened to the smartphone this are mini computers, laptops.
