  • It is a long one, but a good one! Who doesnt want steamed pudding for Christmas?! 🤤
    Burnt sugar:
    1/2 cup of sugar
    1 cup of boiling water
    Pudding mix:
1 1/2 cups of white sugar
    250 grams of softened butter
    1 1/4 cup of self-raising flour
1 1/4 cup of plain flour
    Heaped tsp of nutmeg
    3 eggs
Liz put her batter into the middle of the bag and what we found is it caused crinkles in the pudding and it crumbled once you cut into it. Make sure to add the pudding into the corner of the bag and itll come out perfect!
Liz also prefers it without nutmeg and that is totally optional but as you know, she who cooks- chooses 😉

Love your sense of humor. I still do it the way you explained and flour the cloth before adding the pudding, this gives it a nice skin. I also use sultana and raisins optional, this helps keep the pudding nice and moist for slicing cold with butter for cuppa tea. I also use bread bags inside out in large fruit tins, marae style. Thanks for sharing.
