Velociraptora are the fast meat eater with the funny toe claw. Why does it need feathers? It doesn't have wings. That makes it lame.

I’d also add in the disappointment of the velociraptors from Jurassic park not actually being velociraptors in real life. I mean Deinonychus is super cool, but it’s hard to beat “velociraptor” as a name.

I think it would maybe be a little much of a learning curve for dan, not that I think he's dumb or anything but he's on record as an old school gamer who has issues with 3D games and there's just so much to learn and keep track of. He'd also get so sad when his dinos died 😢

Yeah, I definitely love listening to people talk about something they're really passionate about and love like this. Even if it's not necessarily something I'm that interested in (though in this case I am). Just hearing how excited they are to talk about something. It's sort of contagious, I guess. Plus I think everyone loves when someone is willing to listen to you and engage in conversation about something you love.
They should put a few full screen images of the dinosaur as they’re discussing them, it’d help sell it

and at no point does he point out that neither eoraptor nor oviraptor are 'raptors' that is, maniraptors. though at least eoraptor has the sleek cool look.

Fun fact: Irritator was named because Paleontologists found the skull of the new Spinosaur species (which includes Spinosaurus, Irritator, Ichyovenator, Baryonyx, and Suchomimus) at a fossil sale....but the scientists who bought it found out the seller had added different dinosaur parts to it and it took them hours to restore it what it actually should look like-which really irritated them
People making fake dinosours is my favortie crime. It's so silly, it sounds like the plot to a scooby doo episode

Finally, the Egoraptor origin story revealed.
The fact that this is only part 1 makes me extremely happy.
I loved this, im so freakinf excited for part 2. Id actually love a dinosaur day for danny as part of the schedule where its just dinosaur related stuff or games for danny. It makes me so happy seeing danny nerd out and arin just appreciating his bros pure happiness

It's funny watching Arin misremember dinosaur facts so badly that Dan had no idea what he's talking about.
For the ceratopsian thing, what Arin is trying to remember is that for a while, they thought Protoceratops were the baby Triceratops or another ceratopsian, until they discovered more and realize they were their own species at full size.
He remembered the root of it.. I think Arin deserves at least a little props for kind of bringing it up.. after all he only has a “the second one” highschool education

C tier for Zuul is Crazy! It's one of the most complete ankylosaurid fossil found and it was named after the demons in Ghost Busters.

I was born with that energy. The dinosaur obsession started pretty much within a year of my birth and I'm now 38 with a massive library of dinosaur books. Not to mention many cool figures. 😅

I know right! Good freaking grief. I personally have love for them, because I grew up watching land before time, and have a love for the dinosaurs that the main cast were designed after, including t-rex. Plus Triceratops just looks dope in general, Adorable and Awesome at the same time.

Iguanadon was the first- named because they thought it looked like an iguana, and put the spike on it's nose. Later, they found a full skeleton and were like "Wait, what?" Always loved that, along with the old museum that made a dino in an alligator like pose, which meant it would have had to run in ditches because of it's ribcage, and a Trex dragging it's tail and walking like a bad Godzilla cosplay.
Triceratops is my favourite dinosaur they always seem so gentle but then able to clash if people trouble them. They’re cute and have those amazing horns ❤️ so screw you arin, they’re my favourite

This episode is so great. It's always awesome to be able to sit here and listen to Dan talk about things that he's super passionate about and knowing so much about dinosaurs appeals to the inner 8 year-old in me.

Fun fact, Irritator got its name because some Paleontologists got some fossils from a guy who got them illegally, so he had no clue where they came from, and these Paleontologists spent so much time trying to figure out what it was and what kind of genus to put it in, that when they found out it was a new dinosaur, they called it the Irritator, because they were just kinda pissed at how hard it was figuring out what it was.
it belongs to the Spinosaurid family, and if I remember correctly Paleontologists have only ever found like one fossil of it, because we don't really know where they would be, so they're pretty neat, also Paleontologists have also found out that they had weird mouths that kinda would have worked like a pelicans when the open there mouth, so their bottom jaw just gets wide for food.
Awesome to learn about the whole "Egoraptor" name origin. I had never heard it before.

Listening to Dan nerd out over dinosaurs is epic. I love hearing people go off on things that they're truly passionate about -- it's honestly infectious and makes me want to look up these dinos as they go on.
If you don't like dinosaurs or never liked dinosaurs... Red flag. They are so cool to look at and just imagine the world back then. I spent hours of my childhood reading dinosaur books and watching documentaries. Jurassic Park is also my favourite movie
