I tried crestor and zetia and both are bad news. I experience bad body muscle aches, fatigue, gastroparesis, bad nausea. Also plantar fasciitis which I never had in my life until I take these drugs. A few days later after stopping them my pains are gone. I have been on and off with them and now think it’s time to just stop. They can’t be good. I will be doing dietary changes instead.

This is the only cholesterol lowering medication I can tolerate with manageable side effects. I will find out soon if it’s lowering my LDL, triglyceride, and increasing my low HDL when I get my blood work checked this month after being on this drug for about 3 months. Before I’ve tried many statins with different strengths & I couldn’t tolerate them because the muscle pains, and stomach aches was debilitating.

Mine just suppressed my appetite , only side effect i had after a month trail on them. Id rather have aches and pains than plaque building in my veins. Along with healthy diet changes & a little exercise sure its better than living in fear one day youll drop down dead from a stroke or heart attack.

I've been taking Zetia for over a year. It resulted in Trochanteric Bursitis. Now I found that though Zetia does reduce cholesterol the studies show no reduction in heart attacks and some side effects are pretty bad. It's a risk without reward.

@@juliettst5203 In my case statins were much worse than Zetia. When I was taking statins the feeling was like you are 100 years old and falling apart.
I'm not a doctor to recommend medicine. What worked for me may not work for you. What helped me was an ACV (apple cider vinegar), which I'm religiously taking with every meal. I'm avoiding carbs as well. I lost weight, my blood glucose and cholesterol went down. I'm not taking any medications now.

That's common for doctors to prescribe both, because they act differently and in combination reduce cholesterol faster. The problem is that both statins and ezetimibe have serious side effects, and the studies fail making a connection between reduction of cholesterol and heart attacks. Many doctors are just drug pushers and don't care about patients, mine even said that side effects I experienced were not related to medication and told me to continue. I dropped him, dropped the medication and side effects disappeared. Then I went on low carb, low sugar diet, started exercising, lost weight and many problems disappeared.

I've read that 500mg of Arjuna bark is very effective and reduces cholesterol 9.7 - 12.7% and LDL 25% percent in one study. . And not much side effects other than a diuretic effect.
