Old building videos? Yes please. I've always loved old things, bottles and dishes; and houses. My house was born in 1901. I was fortunate to know the granddaughter of the man that built it. She has passed on now but the stories she told me about her family and the house are priceless to me. Thank you again for sharing your walk with us. Many blessings, Tom. Stay safe.
The globe shaped bottle at 13:33 is a fire grenade. Very few are still in one piece. It had a wire or metal wall holder. When something caught on fire, they threw it shattering the glass and the contents smothers the fire. The would have one or 2 every 20 feet in a factory. Or they also came in fancy shapes for homes by a fire place, to put out a kitchen fire, or a gas lighting or candle fire. That’s so cool that you found that it’s rather valuable to.
The Architecture of buildings built like this is beautiful and has such history to them, I'm sure they were cold during winters in that time. They have so much to say if one is listening...sad they are left to decay, it looks as if it would of been a very lovely home. The sunset is breathtakingly beautiful. Such a beautiful scenery and landscape. 💖
Yes, a thousand times on exploring more ruins! There are no old ruins here on the west coast of the USA and it is so enjoyable to marvel over the sheer ancient-ness of yours! This was a lovely wander; a mix of treasure-searching and stunning sunset over farmland and stone.
I just started watching but had to pause to say how much the clouds & sky look as though this was a painted! At 3:07 you can imagine you are seeing brush strokes on canvas. What an artist our creator is! ❤️❤️❤️
This was an excellent and interesting video with some nice finds. You certainly captured the beauty of the cloud patterns and the visit to the ruined farmhouse was superb. Many thanks for your efforts Tom. Rob from Adelaide
Thank you, I wish that someone could be me... but, I'm happy just to be able to wander around such places for now, and glad the weather provided a good framing for it. 🙂
Yess❣️ I'd LUV to see more old ruins. The colours in the stone are inspiring!!❣️You described a 5,000 year old quarry. Would luv to see more of that if possible, too, Tom. Thank You
Hello Tom, this was a very interesting video! The things you found, & sights of your home land. Wonderful echos & voices of the past lingering in the old farm house, soooo interesting, shows us, nothing is permanent, even the stones collapse. Great bottles, etc. Please be careful out there, those holes looked treacherous!!
what a tremendous sunset and as sunsets go it is life affirming! what a lot of rubbish in such a place where the rubbish is well and truly out of place. the old farm house must have been something, it shouldn't be left to become nothing. your video was great, l really enjoy all your work, they lift me up, thank you Tom.
Yes please to more videos exploring ruins. I live in a part of our world where we get excited over something 100 years old. Always look forward to your adventures Tom.
Lovely opening of sea and sky full of nature's branches. Fall of leaves skithered about, and blue, grey, yellow and orange laying wet or dry depending on weather and sun.
You could be saying "The sky is one fire, as I casually travel these paths, and the screams of death are all around me!" and it would still sound soothing... Greetings from glens falls, ny!
Well it’s always a treat to watch your videos and yes I would love more exploration of ruins when you can! Those old stones hold the memories of times gone by... they’re alive and so beautiful to see. Thanks Tom
My nephew made a plywood box with thick foam insides much like a soundproof room. He puts the rock polishing tumbler he bought inside it and he can barely hear it when it is running. Great video again. Thank you for taking us along!
Great idea! Thanks so much. I will put Rock Tumbler back on my list of things to aquire, it'll be quite a while as so many other things further up the list... but perhaps eventually. I'm very glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂
Thank you so much for the videos Tom. I want you to know what an amazingly positive impact you and your content have. Being unable, due to disability and illness, to get out there, it's truly wonderful to join in your adventures.
8:53-9:02 “ … and a tiny bottle.. so cute.. My girlfriend has always loved tiny bottles, and so… my appreciation for them has slowly grown… almost to her level… “ 🦊 Tom’s statement reminds me of the fox in ‘ The Little Prince ‘, when he said to the boy, “ You see the wheat fields over there ? I don’t eat bread. For me, wheat is of no use, whatever. Wheat fields say nothing to me… which is sad 🌾. But you have hair the colour of gold…. the wheat , which is golden will remind me of you … and I will love the sound of the wind in the wheat…. “.
Lovely trip Tom. I’d very much like to see that dream of yours fulfilled. Yes, I can imagine you and yours all tucked up nicely enjoying that gorgeous view. Thanks for sharing the beautiful sunset, it’s not often I’m allowed the privilege of that kind of view. Great choices of finds, with so much to take. As always looking forward to our next adventure!
Thanks Lynn, it was a joy to be able to film some of that sunset. I don't think the house rebuild is within reach, but who knows... perhaps a video of mine will go super viral one day. In the meantime, it's a beautiful ruin to visit occasionally on walks, and there's many more similar ruins to explore too (*though most of them are used by sheep and cows for shelter, which does somewhat diminish the joy of squelching through them). 🙂
Thank you for a splendid adventure! It was lovely to explore the farmhouse and see the sunset across the fields. Please do make more videos like this!!!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could do more videos like this; but such weather is rare here, and there aren't many ruins quite as pleasing as that one. I'll do my best though. 🙂
I have to follow up my comment and say Tom, your description of the sunset and how it lit up the blades of grass, brought tears to my eyes. What a perfectly lovely description. Your tiny teacup would make a wonderful tiny fairy garden also ❤️. Thank you again I sent this video to my sister today and asked her to watch it. I thought your soothing voice and the beauty of the video would help her today.
At 3:17 the upper winds have created a paint brushed effect, quite lovely. Clouds are one of my favourite things. Thankyou for the walk, the exploration and sharing your finds.
What a phenomenal video, Tom. It’s so enjoyable exploring Yorkshire with you. Today’s exploration was both scenic and poetic simultaneously. Thank you for taking us along, and please stay safe and healthy.
That light and mood and sunset was amazing. That farmhouse is incredible and almost more charming as a ruin than done-up with a Range Rover parked outside. The view from that window ❤️ and the eyes that have enjoyed it, with glass and without. Like a priceless picture frame!!! The dump is another wow!! Littered with beautiful things. I'm jelous again 😏😏 When we were kids in Huddersfield we called slag glass "lucky stone", sometimes almost navy blue and others pastel green. One of your best videos Tom, not just a lark but a feast for the eyes.
Someday I hope you are able to realize your dream of building on the site of an old farmstead. The one from today was indeed beautiful in its scenery. I could see myself sitting in an upper room with a large window, looking over to the sunset. *sighing*
BANDALASTA was the trade name given to a series of plastic wares made from a synthetic resin discovered and developed by British chemists in the 1920's and produced by Brookes and Adams. It's an early plastic like Bakelite. I loved accompanying you on your walk on the edge of the Moors. The sunset WAS glorious!
Loved the old farm buildings. Mind was racing as I saw how the house could be rebuilt using the materials there. Looking forward to visiting future sites. Be calm, be safe, be kind.
Thanks for taking us on another one of your adventures. I always save your videos to watch before bed. In the craziness of this year, I've appreciated how relaxing and soothing they are, with the scenery, commentary, and music. Looking forward to the next one. Until then, take care and stay safe.
Loved the tour of the old farm buildings! But nothing can compare to your beautiful sunset but maybe a sunset from my home in Hawaii! The country side and cozy little villages are calling my name! 🤗
Hi Tom! Oh how I love the trails you take us down and I'm in love with huge, grand old trees, which are everywhere on your adventures. The age of everything is like nowhere I've ever been. Thank you so much for keeping me entertained. Keep up the great work .
Tom, I wish you could restore that farm, it would be wonderful! Yes, I really enjoy all your walks, and exploring anywhere there is fascinating to me. Thank you for another wonderful Sunday relaxation!
Thanks Desert Rose. I think it's vanishingly unlikely that I'll get the opportunity to restore such a wonderful old building as that one, but for now... I get to wander around it, and other beautiful ruins on the hills, glad I can film them too. 🙂
Sue and Ian. Loved the walk, particularly the absolutely stunning sunset and the patterns in the sky!! And yes, more videos of your country walks would be very welcome - Yorkshire sure is God's own country. We love your dry sense of humour.
What a beautiful old tumble down farmhouse. Imagine all the stories it could tell? I hope your dream comes true and you get to restore it somehow. Maybe that's why you are drawn to it, or of course it could be just that view! Another great video. Thanks :)
I do love the exploring around videos...it’s the closest thing to travel. Love the stone work of the old farm house and the views. Thank you Tom! -Michelle from Atlanta
What a gorgeous evening for a walk. It was fun to visit the old farm house with you. Old places like that always make me wonder about who lived there. What memories were created in those walls. I absolutely love your intro music. Take care.
The blue enamel teapot would be great for an outside plant...easy to line it with dark fabric scrap that would hold soil but allow drainage. Your window view shows a nice yard😀
Oh wow Tom, what an amazing video 👍. Great finds in the bottle dump 🙂 Amazing ruined house, would look fantastic restored but is still beautiful ❤😊 And oh my goodness that sunset ❤❤ gorgeous 😊😊 Thanks for sharing
Thank you for such a lovely walk Tom, the scenery was beautiful as always and I love listening to your commentary. I also enjoyed the exploration of the ruin and would enjoy more. Wonderful sunset, thanks for sharing.
Always the most relaxing video with great walks and finds from you Tom! Loved the little soldier :) and the globe bottle would look great with small pieces of glass!
What a magnificent sunset. I do photography, so when I saw the orange hews all thru the fields and rolling hills of the countryside I thought of myself immersed in thoughts of photographs I would take. Beautiful scenery all throughout the video. 🍁🦃🌾🥧🌿
Thanks James. I think if I remember the chest mount, it will become a fairly common addition to what I take out with me... I'm sure there's interesting things to find in the many, many spoil piles I find. 🙂 I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope I can start up the forge before too long... it's already been too long, I bought it in March.
Awesome farmhouse views. ‘Love the fireplace. If money were no object, I would build a separate snug living structure and use the good walls to retro-fit a greenhouse and a light-filled shop.
Kind of sad how dug up the pathways are. Lovely lark, Tom The metal calls to you, find me, find me I will look great in a kiln. No signs of murder but a great story of the grave. Blessings
Hello, The views are heavenly...loved ambling along taking in the spectacular views and sky. Your videos are relaxing and a great way to finish up a Sunday afternoon. Thank you! I, for one, would enjoy more exploration videos.

Your warm golden and orange sunset reminded me of a Turner painting. Fabulous videography, Tom. Would love to see more videos along these lines with the variety of countryside, ruins, historical info and Fall colors. Well, that might be a tall order. ☺️
Oh Tom that farmhouse was amazing. Would love to see more abandoned areas. Love the round bottle. My dream would to come over and go to dumps. Should have taken the tea pot. Would have been interesting for a statue.
I enjoyed your walk and looking through the old farm house. I would love to see more of the landscape and abandoned homes . Looking through your window, even knowing your in the UK, I almost expect to see a big white horse on the distant mountain side.

I wouldn’t mind watching some more West Yorkshire exploration in old ruined buildings.
Thank you, i'll try to film some soon. 🙂
It was beautiful 💖 thanks for sharing your adventure.

One of your more poetic ones Tom, and all the better for that. Beautiful images & words, with your usual cool humour to lighten things.
Thanks 42apprentice, I'm glad you think so. 🙂
I liked the little clear bottle that looked like a perfume bottle next to where you were laying your "Keepers".
Oh yes the scenery and dump site were nice visits but I’d love seeing that farm house with a light to see it all.
The blue enamel teapot would be great for an outside plant...easy to line it with dark fabric scrap that would hold soil but allow drainage. Your window view shows a nice yard😀
