    I enjoy these videos. I just think that if you can interrupt a show’s season to watch other things and then go back to it, the same should apply to the credit scenes. A big problem I had with Black Widow was that it was released after endgame and not before Infinity War. I’d suggest people watch it before infinity War. Stop at the credits and come back when you put it here to watch the credit scene. But again, I appreciate the thought that was put into these videos!

    • @hectorminator

      Thanks so much for watching! I suppose our thought process is: we are fine with interrupting a season of television, as long as the break happens between episodes, but we're not okay with interrupting a movie, even if it's just a scene that pops up after the credits. Because we consider every scene in the movie as a part of the whole, whereas every episode of a tv season can be seen as their own individual chapters to a larger story.

      @@taylorgayhart9497 I disagree. I think putting BLACK WIDOW after CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR does the movie BLACK WIDOW a disservice!
      It’s a movie about how Natasha somewhat reconnects with her family before going back to her Avenger family. It’s a movie about Yelena as much as it is about Natasha. It’s a movie that works as a post-Endgame experience, knowing Natasha sacrificed herself in part to help bring her sister back, and it works especially well in between seeing Clint Barton also mourn for Natasha in the HAWKEYE show.

    Here’s where I think you’ve gone wrong. In Hawkeye, Yelena mentions that she wanted to see the new and improved Statue of Liberty, but in No Way Home’s finale, it is destroyed. Therefore putting Hawkeye before No Way Home is pretty bananas. I’d say you should move both No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness back to after Hawkeye (or move Hawkeye up) as really, No Way Home takes place across a big span of time (at least an entire summer and late part of a year as it begins before the school year and ends around Christmas).

    WandaVision - intro to TV for the MCU done well, sets up MoM and Thor: L&T
    Far From Home - Like this better in Phase 4 than Phase 3 as time has passed since Endgame and it mentions the Multiverse
    No Way Home - Should follow FFH immediately for best effect
    Hawkeye - is during the same holiday season as NWH, is about a school aged girl learning to be a superhero
    Ms. Marvel - is also about a school aged girl learning to be a super hero, on the other side of the Hudson River, references the ten rings
    Shang-Chi - follows up on ten rings, shows similarities between bangle and rings
    Eternals - shows actual ten rings being made, also around the halfway mark so a team up movie feels organic
    Multiverse of Madness - another big event for the halfway mark that follows up on WandaVision, introduces some new heroes from X-Men and F4 too, must happen after No Way Home
    She-Hulk - there isn't really a great place for this, it has to come after Shang-Chi and before Black Panther but the humor needs to be separated from more serious projects... like Black Panther... so we give it a little more distance
    Falcon and the Winter Soldier - back to the serious tone, Loki could've worked here humor-wise but I like it better for the full ending that we're about to get into
    Loki - Waits a little later to introduce Kang but he's not explicitly mentioned again until Quantumania in Phase 5 so that's kind of okay
    Thor: Love and Thunder - Both Loki and Thor have their jokes and their heartfelt moments and putting the brothers side by side again feels good as we lean into the religion arc
    Moon Knight - Continues on the religious arc though more seriously and with darker touches, which is important in leading up to...
    Wakanda Forever - I almost put Quantumania here so you get the full big bad intro at the end of Multiverse Saga's Act I. Alas, respect where it is due and this ode to Chadwick is a perfect way to end the Phase. Marvel got that right. Finishes up the religion arc that debatably starts with the cult in the Falcon and Winter Soldier or the cult in the TVA in Loki, but most definitely starts with Omnipotence City through the Ennead and up to the Ancestral Plane.
    Black Widow* - there's only 14 projects in Phase 4 and I moved Far From Home from Phase 3 to Phase 4 so Black Widow gets moved to the first film of Phase 3 after Cap: Civil War so that the story is actually relevant even if the post credit scene spoils that she will die eventually.

    A lot better than your Phase 3 list, I can get down with most of this order. I would like to know what "clues" you're referring to in "Multiverse of Madness" to place it before "Hawkeye" in late 2024. Most other lists have it placed in early 2025 which makes more sense to me as well.
    I still cannot go along with your using Mid and Post credit scenes to place entire movies that mostly take place in completely other time periods. It makes far more sense to watch Black Widow somewhere between Civil War and Infinity War and just skip the end scene until Hawkeye. Also, there's no need break Hawkeye up, when it all takes place within a week. Presumably it takes Yelena a little time to find Clint Barton and travel to where he's at in NYC, so watching the final Black Widow scene just before starting the series works just fine.
    Look, I know you're thought process is that if this is someone watching who has never seen these movies before, using the Mid and Post Credit scenes to place movies helps keep certain points secret until they're meant to be revealed. But honestly, anyone who is watching these for the first time, if they're adhering to a complex list like this, is doing so because someone familiar with the timeline is probably helping them or at least encouraging them to do so and they're probably watching with the new viewer. Therefore they'll know when not to watch those revealing end scenes. Meanwhile watching these movies when the proper bulk of them takes place will make a lot more sense to the new viewer.

    • @hectorminator
      @hectorminator Год назад

      You may prefer to jump around in a timeline, flashing back and flashing forward, but I prefer to try and keep things simple. And you may also prefer to guide a new viewer through your own personal viewing order, pausing the movie during the credits and switching to another movie or tv show, but I also prefer to let the credits play out, because to me, that's also part of the movie I just sat through. I would ask: if you're already on planning to sit next to someone watching some of these movies for the first time, and know when to hover your finger over the pause button, why not take it a step further? If you're deciding for them what gets left off of a movie viewing (like seeing Groot advance to a teen's age and then have Peter Quill comment that this is what his father figure, Yondu, must have gone through at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) then why not take it all the way and just watch little pieces of ETERNALS and THOR: THE DARK WORLD first, then the opening to THOR, then the middle part of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (making sure to stop before the movie properly ends with Steve waking up in the present) and so on and so forth? I would read that incredibly detailed list! = )

      Apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but I'm not sure that was op's point (please correct me if I'm wrong tho!).
      I dont think op is suggesting that all parts of a film need to be viewed in chronological order, just that it doesn't make much sense to place an entry's timeline placement based on the end-credits scenes since the majority of them are superfluous anyway and act as under a minute long teasers.
      The most egregious of course is Black Widow which was intended to come out in phase 3 and indeed fits best tonally there as well.
      I don't think anyone is advocating to anticipate where to press pause on a scene, just to simply stop watching at the credits which is when the movie ends anyways. So it's a clean and easy for new viewers to stop at.
      And honestly, it's one of the end credits scenes that isn't very pertinent for new viewers, while it sets up the hit on Clint that detail is explained in Hawkeye. So imo a new viewer is better served just not watching the end credits scene and if they care they can youtube the clip before Hawkeye or not worry about it and still have a near identical viewing experiance.
      Much Apologies if I'm misunderstanding the point and op I apologize if I've miscaracterized yours.

    • @hectorminator
      @hectorminator Год назад +1

      @@xiongrey19 no, I think you got it all correct, I suppose I just disagree. I believe, specifically in the case of BLACK WIDOW, that it works better as a post-Endgame narrative, and it’s Yelena’s movie as much as it is Natasha, AND on top of that, I believe the scene with Yelena paying respects to her sister is actually a major part of that entire movie’s narrative and that seeing that sandwiched between Clint Barton also mourning his friend in the HAWKEYE show and then meeting Yelena is kinda awesome.
      So my point is: I could argue that most if not all of the credits scenes aren’t superfluous or unimportant, but sometimes vital aspects of the prior narrative we all experienced and should be considered when building out a viewing order (or chronological order) like this. = )

    • @Swenglish
      @Swenglish Год назад

      @@hectorminator I guess for simplicity if one is watching alone, but if one is guiding someone along, I'd place it before Infinity War and stop after the first tag, then put the final tag on somewhere between Endgame and Hawkeye. It's a bit more to do, but it flows better narratively, not just chronologically but for following the emotional arc of the character and letting the movie be more than just Yelena setup, and to give more weight to what happens after. Coming out after Endgame feels more like an "oops, we couldn't get it ready on time" than a deliberate storytelling choice, and the second tag seems like an afterthought.
      It's less narratively important to do the same for Captain Marvel, but I think to get the most out of it and appreciate it to the fullest, I'd place it after episode 10 of season 2 of Agents of SHIELD, right in the winter break (where Agent Carter season 1 originally aired, so you still get that anticipation-building flashback, but quicker and more relevant). That way, I think the movie and show elevate each other mutually through connected plot points without one spoiling the other.
      I just thought of that. I was about to suggest sticking it chronologically in phase 1, but then I realized there's an even better placement for the ultimate narrative experience.

Infinity war was the last mcu movie. I didn't like black panther nor do I like the falcon and I'm black.

      No Way Home was solid but everything else was crap though.

      Kevin focuses more on some mythical moral social checklist these days rather than actually writing good stories and characters.

    This MCU is forcing a political and social agenda and the box office numbers show the audience doesn’t like it. Glad the MCU is in decline but I doubt the corporation will change the trajectory because they believe so much in the agenda.

      Marvel Studios isn't "forcing" anything. You're just uncomfortable with the notion of inclusivity.
