    • @jgdooley2003
      @jgdooley2003 2 года назад +31

      @@andrewclarke6916 In the present system, not only in Britain but in many parts of the west you have a system that only needs to keep half the electorate happy. The governments do that by taking care of their cronies and rich supporters first and then the security and defense workers and police needed to keep a country functioning, but mostly for the elites.
      Those working in other sectors are left high and dry in times of high prices and scarce resources, such as rank and file nurses, carers, cleaners and transport workers who cannot strike for long enough to leverage real change in working conditions and wages.
      Another big pressure area is that jobs and skillsets are changing faster than workforces are changing, people are having to reskill and retrain for new jobs more often in their working lives. The cost of this used to be carried by the employers, now it is carried by government and individuals through training grants and student loans.
      The last pressure area is the loss of jobs through globalisation and automation and closing down legacy industries such as mining and steel works, once a big employer in Britain.
      A similar experience is happening in the US with entire cities and States becoming desolate through closing down car factories and steel works and outsourcing these sectors to cheaper foreign locations.
      The first thing that needs to be done to change things is to get rid of debt as a means of taking up the slack in poor peoples finances. Heavily indebted people cannot strike long enough to get change in their wages and conditions and the bosses know this.
      The second thing is investment in real education and retaining teachers in the education sector, many are leaving for better paid jobs in the manufacturing and service sector. Poorly educated people tend to have less bargaining power and even less awareness of the basic unfairness of the present system and their present powerlessness to make real change.
      The third big change is health education and avoidance of poor lifestyle choices in terms of diet and drug abuse. This is a huge aspect that is handicapping and preventing people from achieving their true potential but this suits the elites in getting rid of troublemakers and exploiting the survivng members of a workforce. Same applies to social evils such as excessive gambling and gaming addictions. All these feed into increasing debt which reduces the ability of labour to strike and get real change in their lives.

    I like Barry Gardiner, he’s a decent man with the integrity I expect from a Labour man, I can feel the genuine sincerity and frustration when he speaks in this video. Sadly, our society doesn’t seem to appreciate good guys like Barry and would prefer us to have hard right Tories running the country, who are literally destroying the lives of working class people and the most vulnerable in our society on an epic scale. I truly despair at what’s happening in this country, because we’re allowing a bunch of morally corrupt bastards to mug us all off while those at the top get insanely rich. What is it going to take for people to say enough is enough?…..

      I think the scales are coming off of people's eyes. I am hoping that translates to a change of government. It's hard to imagine things getting worse here, but a Truss government actually scares me, because she is ruthlessly careerist, is truly ignorant and doesn't learn from her mistakes. She just repeats slogans & sound bites, appears to lack any humanity towards others or have any real substance. I'm not religious, but God help us all if she wins the Conservative leader elections...

      @@gisar.6539 I agree, but think Sunak will be more swayed by a volatile electorate. Too many factors coalescing now to make Truss's reign less than a turbulent affair & since she appears gung-ho about wanting to posture as a sort of Thatcher || & wants to dismantle union power, I think she is in for a rough ride. Get the feeling she almost relishes the fights ahead, whereas Sunak comes across as more amenable to change. Like he touts "my furlough scheme" as if he wasn't forced into it by a very scared and angry public at the time! Although they are both cut from similar cloth, I think they are a little different in their approaches..I'm sure they are both as shallow as each other, but get the feeling he is more concerned with his image, whereas her current posturing for the media smacks of coaching & a desperate attempt at creating a persona to act as a smokescreen for her lack of substance in terms of intelligence, real leadership abilities, or charisma. I think the fact Sunak mentions 'his furlough scheme' means that he WANTS to be SEEN as popular, but the fact that he did not appear to even be invited to some (most???) of those illegal Downing Street parties /'meetings'/gatherings shows that despite his high position he was truly not seen as part of the 'gang' by the powers that be. She, however comes across as vacuous, power-hungry & very cold. I think her policies will be hard, & she doesn't appear to understand Prime Ministership is not a dictatorship, but requires at least giving the ILLUSION that you are 'for the public', even if you could not care less... She'll either have to learn fast & to back down, or she is in for a rough ride. Don't know how long she can steer the ship with her attitude & unyielding personality given the times we are living in. Either way she will be steely because I think ultimately she wants to project that, but lacks any real substance or imagination to be a great, or successful leader. I think she wants desperately to divide & rule, but given the financial forecast & inevitable bankruptcies looming, & businesses failing over the Xmas period due to lack footfall from a public trying desperately to keep their heads above water, there is a storm brewing with that & the fuel crisis & inflation coming together to create a perfect storm of protest & unrest that she will have no idea how to navigate., but is likely to try to control it by being 'tough'. I forecast a rise in crime and that she will be likely to stir up racism as she will need scapegoats right from the beginning to try to evade too much scrutiny of her policies....Winter is most definitely coming folks, but we need, now more than ever, to stick together.

      We'd also need to undo the damage of the last 40 years to our rights and liberties, unions, privacy, NHS and such. Massive sweeping laws would need writing and older ones totally scrapped. Anything the Tories have touched in the last 40 years must be ripped out. And indeed, so much the Tories.

They foolishly believed brexit was the solution to their miserable working class existence. But here's a part solution, phone social services and tell them you can no longer look after your children,, get them put into care. It costs local authorities £4000 a week per child
