Honestly, can't believe you even said that. What a joke. You might be happy with a corrupt government who steals from the working class to feed to rich, but I'm not.
All my life I have done what is right, worked hard to support my family, and helped others where I can , never been that interested in politics, always voted for who I thought would help my local community. For the first time I truly hate a govt they are rotten parasites who bleed ordinary working class people dry, so their rich buddies can become richer, maybe it's Time for a real change in this country 🤔🤔🤔
Same here. I've never been a 'political' person until the last few years. It's this cruel, callous and corrupt government that's driven me to take an active role in politics. We'll never have a decent life until this lot are gone.
Same, I've worked hard my whole life, 8 years in the military. Really wondering what the point in working hard is when you're left with barely anything at the end of the month. I don't even live a fancy lifestyle, like most people happy with the basics. Having to leave a job I enjoy to work in a better paying field (like a lot of public service workers are too).
@@andrewclarke6916 In the present system, not only in Britain but in many parts of the west you have a system that only needs to keep half the electorate happy. The governments do that by taking care of their cronies and rich supporters first and then the security and defense workers and police needed to keep a country functioning, but mostly for the elites.
Those working in other sectors are left high and dry in times of high prices and scarce resources, such as rank and file nurses, carers, cleaners and transport workers who cannot strike for long enough to leverage real change in working conditions and wages.
Another big pressure area is that jobs and skillsets are changing faster than workforces are changing, people are having to reskill and retrain for new jobs more often in their working lives. The cost of this used to be carried by the employers, now it is carried by government and individuals through training grants and student loans.
The last pressure area is the loss of jobs through globalisation and automation and closing down legacy industries such as mining and steel works, once a big employer in Britain.
A similar experience is happening in the US with entire cities and States becoming desolate through closing down car factories and steel works and outsourcing these sectors to cheaper foreign locations.
The first thing that needs to be done to change things is to get rid of debt as a means of taking up the slack in poor peoples finances. Heavily indebted people cannot strike long enough to get change in their wages and conditions and the bosses know this.
The second thing is investment in real education and retaining teachers in the education sector, many are leaving for better paid jobs in the manufacturing and service sector. Poorly educated people tend to have less bargaining power and even less awareness of the basic unfairness of the present system and their present powerlessness to make real change.
The third big change is health education and avoidance of poor lifestyle choices in terms of diet and drug abuse. This is a huge aspect that is handicapping and preventing people from achieving their true potential but this suits the elites in getting rid of troublemakers and exploiting the survivng members of a workforce. Same applies to social evils such as excessive gambling and gaming addictions. All these feed into increasing debt which reduces the ability of labour to strike and get real change in their lives.
@@jgdooley2003 You've certainly given me plenty to think about there, John. Thank you for taking the time to write such an interesting reply.

It's hard to imagine things getting worse here, but a Truss government actually scares me, because she is ruthlessly careerist, is truly ignorant and doesn't learn from her mistakes. @@gisar.6539 I agree, but think Sunak will be more swayed by a volatile electorate. Too many factors coalescing now to make Truss's reign less than a turbulent affair & since she appears gung-ho about wanting to posture as a sort of Thatcher || & wants to dismantle union power, I think she is in for a rough ride. Get the feeling she almost relishes the fights ahead, whereas Sunak comes across as more amenable to change. Like he touts "my furlough scheme" as if he wasn't forced into it by a very scared and angry public at the time! Although they are both cut from similar cloth, I think they are a little different in their approaches..I'm sure they are both as shallow as each other, but get the feeling he is more concerned with his image, whereas her current posturing for the media smacks of coaching & a desperate attempt at creating a persona to act as a smokescreen for her lack of substance in terms of intelligence, real leadership abilities, or charisma. I think the fact Sunak mentions 'his furlough scheme' means that he WANTS to be SEEN as popular, but the fact that he did not appear to even be invited to some (most???) of those illegal Downing Street parties /'meetings'/gatherings shows that despite his high position he was truly not seen as part of the 'gang' by the powers that be. She, however comes across as vacuous, power-hungry & very cold. I think her policies will be hard, & she doesn't appear to understand Prime Ministership is not a dictatorship, but requires at least giving the ILLUSION that you are 'for the public', even if you could not care less... She'll either have to learn fast & to back down, or she is in for a rough ride. Don't know how long she can steer the ship with her attitude & unyielding personality given the times we are living in. Either way she will be steely because I think ultimately she wants to project that, but lacks any real substance or imagination to be a great, or successful leader. I think she wants desperately to divide & rule, but given the financial forecast & inevitable bankruptcies looming, & businesses failing over the Xmas period due to lack footfall from a public trying desperately to keep their heads above water, there is a storm brewing with that & the fuel crisis & inflation coming together to create a perfect storm of protest & unrest that she will have no idea how to navigate., but is likely to try to control it by being 'tough'. I forecast a rise in crime and that she will be likely to stir up racism as she will need scapegoats right from the beginning to try to evade too much scrutiny of her policies....Winter is most definitely coming folks, but we need, now more than ever, to stick together.

Those who didn't vote have to take the government the people voted in. If the people are ignorant then their is nothing we can do about it. The election wasn't fraudulent. There was no vote rigging. Now tell me what sort of power Barry needs?
How refreshing to see a politician speaking from the heart, showing his emotions and in doing also his political and moral compass. Respect !
hahahahaha WAKE UP.
thank you Barry , for speaking up for the people
At least this man has passion in his heart and integrity I,d vote for him south Wales
Thank you Barry Gardiner. Well said.
What an amazing man, speaks up for so many of us. We need to get the Toryscum out. We need to educate Toryscum voters, it's they who are enabling the Toryscum Government, to do exactly as it wants.
The political world needs more barry gardiners
Thank you, thank you MP Barry Gardiner, a true Labour Patriot you are 100% correct, this contempt of the ordinary people of this nation cannot continue.
He offers no radical economic policy to address wealth gap... just Tory blaming that any non politician could and does say... you have been fooled .
He hit the nail on the head there we all need to think in these terms 👏👏👏
The clock is definitely ticking in this country....
The ticking you hear is not coming from the clock.
@@GariSullivan it's not lizz thinking for the first time is it?
yep I welcome it.
A good time to clear out some of the shit who hate this Country and have done nothing to improve it whilst being on the take.
Bring it on I am ready
Are you ?
@@ozzie2612 She doesn't tick. She just makes noise
@Macavity How do you know ?
As bad as this bunch of wankers are I will do what is needed if Labour or the Nazi Party come to power
Well said x
Well said Barry 👏👏👏
Well said 👍🇬🇧
It’s not like the hancock fake crying, this man cares
From the heart.
Spoken will complete passion and heart. This is a man that truly does care and shares our horror at the suffering this government is causing to many in society. More MPs like him please, to fix the state this current government has got this country, services and society in.
Rubbish
Ask him about the money( £500,000 ) he took from China and why he did not declare it
@@nickssurplus expand
The majority of workers and those on UC gave Bojo a landslide victory and stabbed Corbyn in the back. They are being flogged with a whip of their own choosing. They foolishly believed brexit was the solution to their miserable working class existence. But here's a part solution, phone social services and tell them you can no longer look after your children,, get them put into care. It costs local authorities £4000 a week per child
And Starmer will radically change things? Fcuk him
Passion and heart because emotional responses blind you from logic and reason. We need to cut government spending, end the handouts, collect back all the loans and furlough money. You run a country with your head, not your heart!
Exactly well said. I'm so angry I can no longer contain myself.
Always respected Barry. Now I must add admiration for his humanity and concern.
Respect. Humbling.
Brilliant compassionate man.
Genuine MP, helped me and my wife when he was my local MP.
They have gotten away with it because of the poor opposition but they have definitely pushed it too far now. People aren't stupid or drones as Truss would like us to be.
people are to blame . tory voters never forget it
@@ozzie2612 Nobody voted for these 2
They’ve gotten away with it because they’re enabled by the idiocy of the people who vote for them. Poor opposition isn’t an excuse when people continue to vote for Tory scum - any form of the Labour Party, weak or strong, is a better alternative and rather than blaming ourselves or Labour’s shortcomings we need to blame the morons in the general public who continue to facilitate it
The People are stupid, they vote the tories in over and over again
Bloody well said sir! A man that seems to be in politics for all the right reasons, a rare breed indeed. I hope Keir Starmer doesn't sack this one for staying true to the true Labour cause!
He's too close to Corbyn & Prolly stood with strikers on the picket lines. It doesn't look good :/
Top man. Hats off.
Absolutely sir ! Nailed it .
With him all the way ✊
Absolutely spot on...at last someone who genuinely cares about the people...this needs to be shown to the likes of Truss and Sunak and on the tv news channels...brilliantly said Barry .
This is reality, how can you support the Tories when they have shown utter contempt for their own people?
They are very happy to help "their own people" with tax breaks and PPE contracts. The problem is they don't consider those Barry is taking about to be "their own people."
Well said Barry. An honest man who speaks honest words. The Labour Party must stand by their fundamental principles to support those that Barry talks about. This is the time for The Labour Party to fully support Trade Unions once again. United we stand. Divided we fall. ✊✊
Well said BG!
Great words, great man 🥰🥰🥰
*'People on the verge of su--ide'* - This, if only more people cared about this. But they won't. We're too busy hating eachother...
That is true passion.
Well said, we need people like Barry to powerfully puncture this far right madness. Keep on keeping on.
Wow, if only that would have come from sir kier. More caring compassion is needed in this country. I’d vote for that man.
Absolutely Barry you nailed it. We cannot go on like this under this conservative government whoever is in charge general election now!!!!!!!!!
Labour will just do more of what this government are doing. More power, more jab passports, more restrictions, more immigration, more regulation. Neither conservatives or labour are the answer.
Huge respect! Finally voicing the needs of the people not the powerful! xxx
One of the better politicians. A good man.
We need all politicians to be like him please 🙏
At last an honest MP it's so refreshing too see.
Still took 400k from the Chinese though www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/barry-gardiner-china-spy-money-b1992780.html
Very powerful and from the heart.
We have too many prepared speeches, too many media- trained politicians. Sometimes, you don't need rhetorical flourishes, just to speak from the heart.
Well said, Barry.
This is what a real man looks and sounds like! VOTE LABOUR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
voting Labour doesn't get you people like Barry. It gets you people Like Sir Abstainalot and the rest of the Blairite cabal, who are essentially a slighlty watered down version of Conservatives.
A seemingly decent & genuine Politician clearly frustrated, passionate & speaking from the heart!
When that comes as a surprise we really need to question why!
We’ve become too accustomed to being deceived, lied to & taken for fools, there’s a real need for change in this society !
Far too long MP'S / Politicians have been working the problems not solutions & getting away with it for decades
All sides are guilty.
@@kentkendall1698 But not equally so.
@@DavidSmith-oy4of See this is the thing. Yes it is they are all as bad as each other and no they don't really care about you. To them it's a job a career their reputation. Over 500 comments in this section not one comment addressed the class system the British still socially and politically revolves around. All politicians rely on this system to keep the deck stacked the way they intend it to be, that's the bloody point.
Well said, from the heart, its warming to hear people still care.
