Awesome video. Im always intimidated to work on newer vehicles considering the last Thermostat I did was on an early 90s f-150. Thank you!

I noticed that there wasn't a lot of coolant spilling out when you removed the hose. Had you previously drained some of the coolant?
Did you need to bleed the system after?
The reason that I'm asking is because I'm planning on doing this procedure soon and the service manual calls for draining and bleeding.
    Thanks for the video!

No I didn't drain the system. you will always have some spilling from the hoses but since it was the top the spillage was minimal

@@adamanderson8631 That's great to hear. I'm reluctant to open the drain cock on an older radiator. I'm afraid that it might not seal properly when I try to close it and I'd have to replace the rad too. I really appreciate your prompt reply.

This doesn’t have anything to do with the video per se, but close to the center of the engine in this video there is a brick red plastic connector piece with 2 yellow wires connected to it. Do you know what that is for? Mine was unplugged and I was wondering if that might have been causing trouble? Thanks.

I went and looked the only thing I could see was the fan clutch connector that was red.

@@adamanderson8631 sorry, I forget to update. I did a bunch of research on the net and found that it was the fan clutch. The mechanic must’ve unplugged it when he was changing the serpentine belt and forgot to plug it back in. In my research I found that one of the symptoms of this not working (or being unplugged) is the engine overheating so this was for sure the issue. Thanks for your replies. It’s been fine since it was plugged back in. It was tricky because it only overheated when I used the AC which wasn’t too often.

@@MrPami9899 no consumption, thank goodness. Good luck with the passenger manifold, i have heard it's a beast if you have rear heat.
