What engine did you install? What is different since sensors etc were different? The prevanos cars are the way to go.
it looks like it has the idle control valve so i think its non vanos, I have 6speed 1997 540i non vanos and its been just as reliable as a civic on 220k miles now!

Wrong coolant, only use BMW approved coolant
